I went to lunch with a girlfriend. I opened my straw and put it in my glass. A few moments later I noticed there were two straws in my glass both of which I drank from as evidenced by the lipstick. I had no memory of taking my friends straw.

Haha Stacie. That sounds like something Id do.

I got ya Melrose. Just sucked cause we were racing around appologizing while getting ready. I don't think she ever really relaxed the way she should have.

Sitting on the table now at the heart specialist. Been waiting 20 minutes for him to come in. Grr. I hope he doesn't take my bp when he gets in here. Haha

    Hi,

Well it's confirmed......I have shingles. Frown  I have been given Valtrex as well as Xylocaine to help numb the affected areas.  On a positive note, I can use the Xylocaine to numb my port area before treatments.

Thank you for posting the video....it makes me cry but I have posted to my FB page and dedicated it to my loved ones.

I hope you are all well and have an amazing weekend.

    Hugs to all,

    Misty

Sandik - ugghh!!  We hate it with you!

Stacie - I can just imagine your friends face! haha!

Misty - yikes!!  just one more thing to deal with!  I hope at least if they know what it is they can give you something.

Besides the tears every time I watch that video I think "how many of us are there?"!

Misty, doggone it!  I'm glad they put you on the Valtrex.  My DH had shingles and the first time, they didn't have the antivirals like they do now, so I hope it gets it under control for you quick.

About that Martina McBride song - I saw a dance done to that on Dancing with the Stars last fall!  It was really beautiful too.  Betcha the video is out there somewhere.

Maybe it's better to have something to cry about than nothing, as I keep doing lately, huh.

I had promised my guys I would warn them - but I keep thinking, they should get it already by now....  I want them just to get it without having to explain everything.  Mars and Venus!

Isharvey - I only get steriods in my pre-meds.  I ended up in the hospital/ICU my first infusion due to a C. Diff infection (it was rough), so for the next 2 rounds he cut back on my steriods since they can increase the risk of infection.  I do ok without them, however, have noticed I "crash" earlier in the cycle.  Spend a lot of time sitting around days 3-4 because I'm pretty wiped out, then I tend to rebound after that.

Chapter4 - I had a BMX because I didn't want to have to ever deal with BC again.  I agree it can make your reconstruction easier since you're not trying to "match" to an existing breast.  Plus, I'm definitely going down in size.  Was previously a 34DDD...too big.  Glad to have those boulders off me.  Will probably go with a 34C as my recon.

Gemmie and Chapter4:  Love your new pics!

MistyM:  Glad you got the meds you needed. I hope you feel better soon  I diagnosed my brother's shingles a long time ago.  I guess I do too much reading!

Sandik:  I am sure she looked pretty for the pics.  I know what you mean.  One of my clients called me today that I just met with the other day.  I could have sold her a policy, but I didn't ask her one question I ALWAYS ask.  So she called me to ask my why I didn't ask her the question.  Anyway, long story short, I am going to go see her in another 1 1/2 weeks to write her a policy.  I have always considered myself an extreme professional and for me to not ask her one question that is one of my most frequent--there's that damned chemo fog.  I share with your frustration.

Stacie:  Sounds like your DH is a real keeper.  I have one too!

Chapter4 I also had a BMX. It was a hard decision because I wanted another child and wanted to breast feed. When they did the mammogram on my left breast they said it was normal. After I had the surgery they found some cancer cells in my left nipple. It was best decision I could have made. Also, I wanted smaller breasts so I said I might as well let them take both!

First day after Taxol #1 and I feel great. I was a little achy last night but nothing that a little tylenol didnt take care of. I hate that the steroids are blowing me up. Got my workout in this morning. Now out with my toddler. I was told day 3 post taxol i will have flu like and achy bone symptoms that should last 3 days. Im rebuking it in the name of Jesus. It feels good to be normal after chemo.

I think the MO cutting my steroids in half is helping.  I haven't been shaky and chatty and driving those around me crazy.  I worked 9 hours today, and thought I did fine, and then DD called to ask me to stop at WalMart to pick up a prescription for her.  (We live in a VERY rural area, and you have to drive 15 miles to get anything at all.)

I had a couple to pick up, too, so I told her I would.  I was so winded and light-headed when I got back in the car that it scared me.  That's when I realized that I had 6 saltines this morning to take my meds, and about that many at noon to appease coworkers.  Crap.  Other than a Gatorade, that's all I'd put in my system since last night.

I made it home and collapsed in bed.  Thank goodness DH walked in 5 minutes later and saw what was going on.  He made some soup for me (he knows I can stomach soup) and brought me a diet coke (after confirming I'd gotten enough water for today.) I think I'm ok again, and I have something on my stomach so I was able to take my meds.

On to lighter things, I will see if I can record my girls during my next chemo.  It really was funny.  I wish I had recorded it for myself!  It would come in handy on days like today.  I'm so happy it's the weekend.  I can stay in this bed for the next 2 days if I want to.  And I might do just that.

Fierro, no more passing out around here girlie!

Heart dr was an electro something or other. He said that he cannot say 100% that it was the chemo/dehydration that made me pass out, since it is one of the symptoms of this qt thing that I have. But, the fact Ive never passed out before makes him think it was the chemo. Basically, he cant do anything til after radiation anyway. Im to stay on the high bp pills that I'm on. If I have any more episodes between now and when Im done with rads, then he will want to put in a defibrillator. He would take my port out and thread this thing in. He seems to think Ill be fine, since Ive had this all my life, but is covering his ass I think. So, I know nothing more than I did. Haha

Fierro6- Why does something carbonated with the word Coke sound so good to me right now????  Think I'm diving into the fridge to find a mini can of Coke and toasting with you!!! Hope you are okay.  You need to keep some crackers in your car so you have something to munch on.  No face planting allowed in parking lots for you!!!!

Thank you all for the well wishes and support.

I'm not sure if this will work but it is an audio link and actually was the only thing that has helped me stop crying today.

Day 10 and the toe and finger pails are constant cincern. Ties woke me up the other night, pressure of the blanket! I notice they are all worse at night and considerably better in the morning. My NP says it will probably go one for a few months .

Peeling heels and tops of toes: yup. I put Aquaflor ointment on and docks, but the socks pressed on toenails. So I cut off the toe part of sock, and made slits in ankle part so it wouldnt bind my slightly puffy ankles. Jeez, pathetic. it worked. Yet every day there are big peels! Weird.

Today felt for the first Iike I was slightly returning to real life. Not sure why, still hae to come home after errands and do 2 hrs of couch time. Maybe I am seeing some light. Maybe my body is moving through this.
