Joni - Consult with your hospice nurse about suggestions for when she goes out. I know it is a weekend but should have on call nurse to at least telephone consult with if you haven't done so already. Make sure she has pain med on board if that is a problem for her and take some with you. Always stay ahead of the pain. Is she on oxygen? Check tank levels before you leave. Ask about handicapped seating. I assume she is in wheelchair. Plan on additional time for that so you won't feel rushed. Feel free to ask me any questions. I am a hospice nurse but don't want to intrude/step on what her nurse has instructed you to do. Know how confusing that is. At least I could give you generalities. My thoughts/prayers are with you tonight. I know from reading this was a goal of hers to make it to this graduation.
-
I am praying for you Joni, your Mom and your daughter. Wish I could give you a big hug! (((((Joni)))))
-
Morning gals, Well graduation is done-Rachel was in the top 2% of her class & Mom was able to be there, as was my Dad who is suffering from Alzheimers (yesterday was his 81st birthday on top of everything!)
Lovemygoats-I'll keep you on "speed dial". Currently Mom isnt owning up to any pain, but the hospice folks ordered some morphine to administer if she has trouble breathing, etc. No oxygen either- yet. She is sleeping more & more. The last 2 days have been "busy" - family dinner @ fancy restaurant Friday night (her idea for grad) & then the ceremony last night. I imagine we wont see much of her today.
-
Praying that amid the busyness of these days, you will find time to enjoy these moments and to feel God's hands close around each of you.
-
Eph, so very happy that your mother was able to share in Rachel's graduation celebrations. Take some time as your mother rests up to rest yourself.
Keeping you in my prayers.
Thank you for offering help to your assistance to Eph, Luvmygoats, that is so generous.

I haven't been on here in a while. Joni praying for you all!
-
Ladies, Mom passed at 2:05 this morning, 6-18-12. Thank you for all your prayers & kind words. My heart is broken, but in the final hours my sister, daughter & I sang old hymns to her & on Saturday, she was still responding & I read several Bible passages: Psalm 118, the Shadrack, Meschak & Obendigo story & a couple other favorites. Praise the Lord she is no longer in any distress.
-
My condolences and prayers are with you and your family Joni. It is so hard to lose a parent. The pain eases but I don't think it ever goes away completely even though I still feel her with me even though it has been 34 years this month.
-

Joni...i'm very sorry about your loss ♥
-
Joni,
You and your family are in my prayers. Hugs to all of you.
-
Joni.... I am so sorry for the loss of your mama. You and your family will be in my prayers. (((((((((Joni)))))))))
-
Oh Joni, I'm sorry for your breaking heart. My God's grace and mercy carry you and your family through the next days and weeks.
-
((((((Joni))))
So sorry for your loss. You have been in my prayers. I thought about you these past few days as I was back at my son's. You were there for me last year when I was stressed when Patch was born, and I am here for you as well. May He give you peace and mend your heart. You gave your mother a wonderful send-off, I am sure she was aware of the blessing you were to her.
-
So sorry Joni YOU and your family are in my prayers. Kathleen
-
Thanks everyone. I'm doing OK-service isn't until the 30th, so I've no doubt it will be rough off & on until then, & then that day will be uber-hard but God is with me-I feel it!
-
Joni, I will think of you and pray for you often on the 30th. June 30th is always a difficult day for me even now and I usually spend parts of it contemplating and praising the importance of Mothers, especially my own Mother, but I will be praising your Mother too. Mom died on June 30, 1978 and I still miss her.
-
Joni, you have my prayers, and sorrow.. ts' so hard when we lose our mothers.. im so glad you got to be with her, and spend that time with her....3jays
-
Thinking of you Joni. Prayers and (((((hugs)))))

I've come to the Garden to ask for prayers for my brother. Since Thanksgiving he has had a number of medical crises, three of them life threatening. Now he is struggling with several pulmonary and laryngeal issues. He is scheduled for a CT scan Thursday which could of itself be problematic as it requires an iodine tracer and he is highly allergic to iodine. It takes two days just to prep him with prednisone and antihistamines prior to the scan. Please join me in praying for his safety and healing. Thanks
-
chabba, will do.
-
Praying, chabba.
-
(((Chabba))) Prayers for your brother.
-
Thank you.
-
Praying Chabba! 🙏
-
Praying for you and your brother, Chabba. I am also allergic to the iodine used in CTs. The prednisone and Benedryl works and I have never had a reaction since pre-medicating. May your brother's health improve.
