I'm going to be witnessing that same event on June 9. Hope I can keep it together!

When I saw that picture I immediately thought it was your post, Eph. I knew it was coming up. Congratulations, Laural.

Hi Garden Gals,
Mom is going to start chemo on MOnday the 4th- the treatment cocktail is a low dose of taxol/carboplatin, once a week for 3 weeks, 1 week off, once a week for 3 weeks, 1 week off. The general concensus of my siblings & I is that she will discontinue after the 1st treatment-mainly because we think she is too weak to withstand the onslaught-as it isn't going to "cure" the situation, we are praying God's will.
-
May God's will be done.
(((((Eph)))))
-
praying for the situation, Joni. may God be close with you all, "extra" favor ...3jays

((((((((((((Joni))))))))))). Congratulations Laurel! 🎉🎓🎉 was that your DD or DS? 3jays how r u doing? Meece how's your grandson? He must be getting big. Coming up to my 3 year 'versary on June 9th. Had my bilateral mastect June 9, 2009. Can't believe it's been 3 yrs. The Lord is soooo good and gracious! Hugs to all!
wanted to add it is also my DH's birthday! 😄 -
kcl65--my daughter is second chair in first row. She was one of the 7 valedictorians at her high school. She also graduated from our community college with her Associates of Science 2 weeks before, having traded out her high school classes for college classes over the past 4 years. She has been a joy to raise and is will be headed off to college to become a Child Life Specialist after a summer working with preschoolers with special needs at a camp. Oh, to be young again and full of her energy!
-
Hi all, quick update. Mom has opted to NOT do chemo after all, and it is the choice we (the rest of the family) are happy with. She is rapidly declining in strength & awareness & the chemo, no matter how low the dose, is going to be too much, I think. My daughter's graduation is the 9th; our hope is she can be able to attend. My birthday is July 4th; my selfish wish is that she is able to stay through that date, but I am fairly certain that won't be the case.
I was able to attend church today for the 1st time in a couple months. Sorely needed; not quite the rest & reflection I was hoping for, but the message was still worth hearing.
-
(((((Eph)))) It is so hard to let someone go, and sometimes we want to try every avenue to extend their time with us, but when we see their quality of life is waning it makes it easier to say goodbye. I will pray that she remains aware enough to attend the graduation in 6 days.
-
((((((((((((Joni))))))))))) praying for you!
Laurel ~ WOW!!!! How proud you must be! So accomplished and intelligent and she sounds like a doll!! Again my sincere congrats to her and you!!! Yes I agree oh to have that energy. Lol. -
eph... i think that was a wise decision on your moms' part.. chemo, even in a reduced forum, is sooo tough. i will continue she stays to accomplish so many of the things coming up.. as long as she feels well enough, and out of pain, of course.. my mom #waited" for my GS her
2nd GGS to come, and then some.. a goal seems to help..Ladies, i had a complete meltdown this wkend, going thru some boxes, post chemo.. mostly, bras, and hair stuff.. neither of which i need, thank you bc.. i waited this long, thinking i'd be able to face it.. guess not..
i could use your prayers. the thyroid stuff is adding to the emotional stuff, and now, new meds, both for rosecea, part of auto immune stuff, and adrenal insufficientcy.. i am/need to just lean on "him" and stop reacting, bt its "normal" no matter how long its' been, i gues...thanks

((3jays))
This is for you.
-
mumito, thank you for the reminder of God's endless bounty!
-
Beautiful picture as usual!
I was in my backyard and heard a dove cooing, when I looked around I saw a dove and a housefinch on a street light in front of our house. I ran to get my brand new camera, but when i got back, they were gone. But this is where they were...

Hoping to bring a bit of a smile to you!
-
Meece...Thanks for clarifying about the missing dove...i thought I was loosing it....
-
Meece, I just had to post. I actually laughed out loud when I saw that picture. (Had to spell it out b/c i say LOL a lot but don't really do it) Looks alot of the pics I take, or else mine are so blurry no one but I can tell what they are.
Needed a lift this morning, thanks.
Praying for all, Lord lift our hearts with joy today, please! Give us the gift of peace beyond all understanding!

Praying for uplifted spirits for each of us today.
(My new camera has a "smile detector" so I won't miss the shot with a smile in it. In the past, I usually have the pic right AFTER the smile! I really need a "Subject detector")
-
LOL Meece
-
Did I ever tell you how much I enjoy your avatar, Mum? Seriously I love it. It reminds me of the "Home Improvement" character "Wilson" as they make it impossible to actually see his face.
-
Lol Meece on the pic and Wilson. Thanks for the laugh!
((((((((((((3jays))))))))))))) praying like crazy for everyone!! Hugs to all! -
Hospice starts today.
