Oh, I wanted to ask how I could go about making a collage of my photos, like a strip of head shots.  Maybe lago or Carrol2 might know?  Photobucket used to have that feature, but it seems like they changed their format and now I don't think that's available anymore.  I'd like to be able to show the hair progress using smaller pictures side by side.

DivineM I'm a graphic designer. I have professional software that lets me do it. Carol2 also is a designer and has the same tools. (Adobe Photoshop). Some times your camera or computer comes with software that may allow you to do it. I've always used the professional stuff so I haven't explored.

Are you on a PC? Have you checked out Microsoft picture manager? There are some editing tools in there. I know there is stuff on a MAC too but again I have never used it.

kittykat I feel like I have some shedding too. Not much but I think it seems like more now that I ahve more hair. I think it proabbaly was shedding as it grew in but was less noticable when it was shorter. Every onece ina  while i feel like a hiar falls in my face too which is odd. I am thinking it might be the new growth pushing out the old. My hiardresser said I ahve some new growth under my bangs and I thought that was hair that broke off. I also had really thin hari pre chemo and it's thicker now and I am trying really hard to keep it healthy, I used to hi lite mine too and now I am all natural. I am waiting for it to hit my shoulders before I decid if I want to color it. I kind of like the grey but I feel like it makes me seem older.

Yayyyyy!!  No more monkey face! I used the CVS brand facial hair remover cream (comparable to Nair) and it worked like a charm in 5 minutes.  Thanks Robo for the 411!

Carrol2, thanks for the reply. My hair may be shedding like normal, but it really feels like more than usual. I'm going to ask my hairdresser if she has seen a difference. I just got my hair done a week ago, so she would have noticed it when she washed and combed through it. She's really into healthy living so she may have a good suggestion. She works out of the wig shop, so she's really familiar with hair loss, too.

DOING THE HAPPY DANCE !!! I have a million eyebrows coming in over the last couple days - in the original color.....enough that filling them in is overkill........and sometime today FINALLY lashes have sprouted and the whole lid (in a magnified mirror) - top and bottom has tiny bumps where the lashes would be...finger's crossed that the rest come out just as fast.   I am down to no bottom lashes and maybe 10 per eye on top!!!!  I want to ditch that damn itchy wig and I can't do it with brows and lashes gone.  Hair's only around a quarter inch right now, but filling in like a crew cut.  Ladies - there is a light at the end of the chemo tunnel !!!! I looked in the mirror this morning...those new lashes were NOT there.

Robo - I've been using rogaine - I think it works as far as bringing the hair and brows in - it seems both hair and brows came in very much "filled" in.  I dip a Qtip in the rogaine and apply it to the brows.  Eyelashes are a different story - but I think I was lucky that prior to chemo both lashes and brows were seriously heavy - if you look at my pic - those eyebrows were shaped with a disposable razor...plucking would have taken a week...waxing would have killed me.....lol and the lashes used to have be trimmed in the outer corners.  I think to lose them was more traumatic than the hair.  I think the Rogaine takes a little bit to work, but it's worth trying.  I also shampoo and condition every day with Nioxin....even when there were just alittle stubble...  I'm almost 7 weeks PFC and from about 3 feet away, there is no scalp showing...however, up close, it is still a bit "see thru", so I've got to throw that damn hairy hat on every day to go to work.  I bet the Minoxadil will work it's charm soon on your brows - I seriously saw nothing and then one or two hairs and within a couple days, the whole shape started filling in.

    Hello ladies,

I have enjoyed reading all the post. Just a quick question....I am 6 days post first chemo treatment (tch) and it feels like I have dry, itchy scalp. Is this an indication that my hair is getting ready to fall out or am I just over analyzing things? Thank you!

    Blessings

mom24boys Yes the itching can be a sign but if you just have a dry scalp that could be causing the itch. It does seem a tad early.

lago, thanks for the tip.  I have the Picasa program on my PC and it looks like I'll be able to create a collage of sorts with strips of photos.  It's actually pretty fun, I've been messing around with it, wasting all manner of time today!

I am using the Nioxin and taking Niacin and Biotin and the eyebrows are taking off like crazy here in the last day. And on the hair, I am getting the 5'oclock shadow.   Also, the Senegence and Obagi products I am using on my lashes are making them grow really well, too.  I feel I am really close to going naked headed.  I can't stand to sweat on my head.  I think I am about 6 weeks pfc.  Obviously not much hair at all on my head but I am so tired of the scarves!

Someone a while back mentioned that they're eyebrows looked singed? That's how mine are looking on my right brow.  I can see some darker hairs poking through though

    Hi everyone .

I finished my 6 th and final tc last Wednesday. I'm glad it's over, but anxious about hair regrowth. Thanks for posting all the encouraging pictures. I'm trying minoxidel for my hair , but was wondering if anyone tried latisse or other products for eyelashes?

    Thanks!

I am 4 week PFC and getting very tired of looking in the mirror and seeing no sign of new growth--I do have stubble, but it's been there since my third Taxol treatment or so. I think I'm going to have to get some rogaine--can you just find it at a CVS type place? My eyebrows are thin but holding, my lashes are nearly gone, so I'm hoping they start popping through any day now. Thank heavens for bangs and glasses!

myleftboob - I said that about mine - and they are coming in without color.   I actually put mascara on them today but it wasn't pretty.

ulightup - I'm using a Senegence product in the morning on my lashes and Obagi - Lastilash in the evening.  I think it is really making them grow but then again, I wouldn't know how much they would grow without it. I found the Obagi product on eBay for 1/3 of what it would have cost me at a spa in my area.  Have not looked for the Senegence product on eBay.

    Seagrover

Mine were always kind of light colored the last few years along with a couple white ones.  As they seemed to have thinned somewhat during that time as well, I was having them tinted about once a month.  It really made a difference  in making them look more defined.

Seagrover - Niacin is one vitamin im not taking, except for what's in my multi. How does Niacin help hair? I just added folic acid to my regimin. I will do anything!

MLB, I may try the eyelash tinting. I do know one thing that saved me was having the permanent eyeliner. A friend talked me in to it about 4 yrs ago and at least you could see my eyes.

Shore1, don't really know why I had the niacin in the cabinet but it says it helps maintain healthy skin and hair and contributes to a healthy heart.

One thing I will do different when I buy the biotin next time - I bought the max the store had which was 5000mcg. The guy said since this is water soluable, you can't take too much. I think I will break it up in smaller doses and take twice a day instead of so much at one time. Maybe I will get the benefit of more in my body doing it this way.

Ulightup I used Minoxidil generic brand from Walgreens. I've been using it since before my diagnosis due to a receding hairline. It can take up to 3-6 months for it to work. I'm sure CVS sells it too as well as the Rogaine brand.

I did see the dermatologist last week (about my nails). She did say that Latisse would take care of the lashes and brows. Mine aren't that bad nor can I afford it but I do hear it works. She was also pleased to see I was taking 5mg of Biotin

Well on a positve note. I never actually lost my eyebrow or eyelashes they just thinned. They came back full blast but I don't have to tweeze so much anymore. They did not come back as much in the areas I would have to tweeze like down my eyelid and between my eyes. Takes me 5 mins to tweeze and I can wait about 3 weeks. 18 months PFC.

I am using latisse. I think it helped as my lashes are thicker than they've ever been and came back pretty quickly. I used it on my brows for awhile, too.

Tonight, I am trying Nair for my face....looking forward to getting rid of all the fuzz along my jaw! So glad this board is here for suggestions like that.

I've used the Latisse for almost 2 months and not quite sure if it's helping.  I think it may have worked on keeping the last 10+ lashes that hung on to the upper lids.  There are still no lashes on my bottoms, but the top is showing new growth.  The brows are frightning !!! I actually had to take a little razor tool to them last night to shape them - it's so strange to see them dark again and not looking burnt.  I'm thinking the hair doesn't really seem to take off till after 3-4 weeks PFC.  Then it seems to be really noticable.
