im ready for pain, i like that natural way.
Surgery is agressive, my inner voice telling me.
thats why body after surgery need so much energy to heal, but in natural way body heals in that process what chillpadi doing.

OK. Good luck.

I'm wondering if himalaya is a troll. I've seen the screen name on other threads with the same controversial questions, seemingly written to elicit a quick and emotional response from as many as possible.
Claire in AZ
-
ditto
-
Claire, I've wondered about that too.
-
Possibly Claire as it is truely hard to imagine that anyone can be so naive. On the other hand, I think maybe Himalaya has some other personal issue going on and is attention seeking. Possibly Munchausen's Syndrome, in which case by responding (in any form - including this post) the behaviour is just fed and more and more bizzare things will be written to remain the focus of attention.
-
Yeah, been just reading the posts on this thread and some of the others with himalaya in it. Most of the time, she starts threads with just one sentence. Anyone know anything else about her? Did she ever introduced herself from the beginning when she joined (which was just in May) and talked about her diagnosis in depth? Most of us joining or starting a thread/topic usually introduce and talk a little about ourselves first. I don't recall anything like that with her. I'm starting to think Troll as well.
-
Or, maybe she is just foreign, uneducated and frightened. Older members will remember the hell they put one lady through when she had just joined. She was uneducated to an extreme (Grade 4, rings a bell), couldn't string a sentence together. Because of that she was called all sorts of names. Too naive to let people drive her away, I guess. I'm pretty sure they felt bad about themselves (or maybe not) when they found out she had passed away, years later. To each his own. If you think she's a troll, you don't have to reply to her posts. If you want to give people the benefit of the doubt until you're proven otherwise, that's also a choice. Maybe one of the older members will read this and verify what happened to s------b.
Edited: for clarity

Yeah -- What Sian65 said.

I think we should all, me included, follow that well known internet message board mantra: please don't feed the trolls.

When i was living in Norway, the native people got a lot stories about trolls.
They are small strange creatures, hiding from people, realy not educated, gracie is right.
But they are smart in own ways, i dont excatly which ways.
I can tell you im not a troll , im big-175cm(something about 6ft inUSA), andmy weight is normal, and sorry that i didnt introduced myself in the very begining.
I will do that one day, better late than never .
Yes it seems im not very educated, you are right, and english is not my native language, but i can speak in 4 more languages, so probably no one language is prefect, please forgive me english mistakes and that im not familiar with USA mentality, even if i was living there for some time.
-------------
And yes im foreign ,not an usa citysen. But i see here also some australian ladies, are they ok?
Frightened?from who?
Im sorry that i made so much negative impression about me.
Am i realy so bad for you ?
As i said, i can leave your forum if im realy disturbing, no problem.
-
Himalaya, I was sticking up for you in my post, but probably didn't do a very good job of it. I fear my post was misinterpreted by you. I did not mean to insinuate that you were any of those...just that we've had others who were not treated respectfully. Sorry to see you go.
-
Just a reminder to keep the tone of the posts respectful and on topic. Thanks so muchThe Mods
-
I should have said foreign or uneducated or frightened instead of it being misread as all three. I suspect you are the latter. So sorry.

Respect From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Respect gives a positive feeling of esteem or deference for a person or other entity (such as a nation or a religion), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. Respect can be a specific feeling of regard for the actual qualities of the one respected (e.g., "I have great respect for her judgment"). It can also be conduct in accord with a specific ethic of respect. Rude conduct is usually considered to indicate a lack of respect, disrespect, whereas actions that honor somebody or something indicate respect. Specific ethics of respect are of fundamental importance to various cultures. Respect for tradition and legitimate authority is identified by Jonathan Haidt as one of five fundamental moral values shared to a greater or lesser degree by different societies and individuals.[1]Respect should not be confused with tolerance, since tolerance doesn't necessarily imply subordination to one's qualities but means treating as equal.

It seemed obvious to me that Himalaya has a language issue, but we still need to help her.
Himalaya - I don't think the salve idea is a good one - Chillipadi's tumours are on the surface - I don't like to think what would hapen trying to get a tumour out that is way down in your breast.
-
I don't think Himalaya is a troll. English is not her first language and she's trying to navigate breast cancer, so she doesn't always have correct grammar. She's definitely a person.
-
When I first started my 'Scary BC tumor removal photos' thread, some quickly people jumped down my throat. They did not believe that women with my condition existed, or suspected that I was just seeking attention. I was so disappointed and bewildered, because I was just a frightened woman with horrific BC who was almost at the end of the road. I seemed to be clutching at straws then by exploring 'crazy' treatments, but I was desperate. I just wanted the fast-growing monster out of my body, and I just wanted to live and be there for my loved ones. That's why I started that thread, for help and advice.
Himalaya probably feels the same way today. Nobody can tell her what to do, as it's her body and her life. We can only show kindness and compassion, and advise her to do lots of research, and ensure that the treatment - whether conventional or alternative - is backed up by documented evidence, before she proceeds.
Imagine if you had to appeal for help in a language that you barely speak - like Chinese - and people respond by criticising your competency in that language. Himalaya showed a great deal of courage writing in BCO, which is dominated by native English speakers. She probably did it because she thought that her sisters here would understand, and help her. Let us not forget that she is just a woman with BC who is frightened and confused, like many of us on the Board. Isn't BCO open to all in need of support, irregardless of their linguistic ability, country of origin and education?
-
chillipadi--I totally agree----but when she first started it was not her language of use of it--it was almost as if someone was making this up But as people said if she's serious then she needs help of course. We are so used to conventional that hearing other things throws u for a loop.
U personally have been thru so much and u heart is so kind I wish and pray the best for u.
-
I just wish she would at least have the surgery. Even Leia, who is one of our most hard-core alt ladies, thinks surgery is a good idea. It's hard to watch someone turn down surgery, but then pursue some really out-there treatments. However, she appears dead set against it, so I have to respect that. I just don't have much to offer her in the way of advice, so I will let others help her figure out her treatment plan.
-
I honestly don't know what to think or say re: Himalaya at this stage. My most literal reading is that she seems to misinterpret what is said. That there is BOTH a cognitive AND a language problem apparently involved. Otherwise, and assuming the best of intentions, I'm stumped.
-
Yes - after reading replies on other posts I was thinking the same........
-
Yes it seems im not very educated, you are right, and english is not my native language, but i can speak in 4 more languages, "
I would say that was VERY educated and most impressive ! My college scores are a perfect 4.0, but I cannot speak 4 languages.
I have had people PM me and encourage me to ' do nothing' about this cancer. I have had all kinds of replies and sometimes wonder if the person is just a nutjob who posts on forums like this and has no cancer at all, but never would I "call out' a person who may in fact be reaching out for help. Someone who sincerely sounds as though they are a foreigner with a BC problem looking for support. What is the WORST that could happen - we get duped ? ! BIG DEAL!
What is the BEST ? Someone gets compassion , help and support ... aaaaah, just what I *thought* this forum was for! -
I personally haven't seen any latest posts from Himalaya and am truly sorry if she was offended and was really seeking help. I think most of the alternative methods she mentioned were a little out there and caught some by surprise---but if she really needed help I'm sorry she left and I hope she gets the proper help and understanding that she needs.
-
I vote for the group that says she is a troll of some kind. I went back and studied her sentences. Sometimes she constructs complex (dependent and independent clauses) sentences that show a good understanding of grammar. Then she says and writes something that makes little or no sense. Just my thoughts.
-
I definitely think she is a real person. I have corresponded with her on several threads and am convinced that she is real.
-
I think she's a real person whose native language is not English, and based on her family history , is terrified, so is looking for anything, grasping at straws, to avoid surgery - out of fear that what happened to family members will happen to her.
I also think its sad that she hasn't posted in a few days. I hope people haven't scared the poor woman off with their "troll" comments.
-
Yes, I'm beginning to believe she is real and absolutely terrified. Caryn
-
But on another post she said good-bye to us and I hope even if she doesn't write she reads we are not a group of cold-hearted people--she was just cconfusing us.

I am at grade3 with triple neg bone mets and lung my tumour is 10cmx 5cm If they would operate and take it out I would say yes in a heartbeat. They have not offered and the thought that it could become fungating scares the life out of me. I thought things could not get any worse until the pysch told me about this happening to untreated BC. I have chosen not to do Chemo for a million reasons lifestyle home situation blah blah blah.
My greatest fear has never been death its always been about how I will live upto my death. I was coping reasonably well now I am a mess ............ google fungating and its the stuff of nightmares. I know there are people here dealing with this complication. They must be incredably brave and strong. I dont think I am.
