Colllar bone lump
Hi, Just found a small lump on my collar bone. It is on my good side. It is sore because I keep touching. It. Not sure if it could be a lymph node. Would you call your Onc now or just wait until next visit in August. I would feel silly if it was nothing and went to see my Onc early. SharonMH

I would not leave anything like that, at least if you get it checked and its ok, you have peace of mind. you could ask him on phone and he may give you advice of what you should do, but your life is too valuable and even though i am a big chicken and don;t like worrying them, i think i would for that. I have that, thing about feeling silly if nothing. But my mamma says, that is not looking after myself and to ring up or and go and worry them, thats why you have them as a doctor. so i would my dear go and get it checked, at least for peace of mind. Take care

I agree with midnight... Well said! August is still a while away... Lots of time to worry between now and then, so I would call now...
I hope it turns out to be something benign...

You could go and see your primary doctor for evaluation. Hoping it's innocuous.

Hi Sharon...I'd give it the 2 week rule and see if it changes at all (haha, while trying not to fiddle with it). Even if it is a node, you could be fighting an infection that is causing it to swell. But, I wouldn't wait til August if it doesn't go away..that's too much worry for the summer. Get it figured out so you can go on with life.
Hugs!

I have one...have had it for years. Of course, I only noticed it AFTER my bc so I was concerned. But after watching it (and it didn't change) I decided it was nothing.
I'm not sure what test you onc would do for it. It it's part of your bone and not a lymphnode, I guess a nuclear bone scan would reveal it's nature. If it's a node, then he'd best biopsy it if it continues to grow.
Good luck! I hope it's nothing. -
Hi, Thanks for your responses. I guess I will wait another week or two before I give my onc. a call. August is a long time away. Don't want to ruin whole the summer with worry. SharonMH

Sharon I agree with bugs, wait a couple weeks for changes, try not to worry and then call!!!! You are fine, I just went through 2 months of tests and surg. Just so they could tell me I am fine. Sometimes waiting a bit is ok....................xxoxox
