AMERICAN IDOL....Season 11

Our next American Idol, let it be so. I wonder what the choice of songs is going to be, and if Jimmy feels he is that good next week, he should say so!!!!!!!!!
-
I remember the year of Adam Lambert....everybody believed he was the winner but
-
I expected Josh and Phillip - but the votes have got to be primarily based on emotion. How could you NOT vote for PP after seeing his hometown visit. And it was smart to leave the girlfriend out of it, and rely on the pure emotion of his family. I cried like a baby when I saw the emotion between PP and his parents - it was REAL!!!
-
YIPPEE YIPPRR YIPPEE PP - so good.
-
SHEILA, we live close enough that we could watch the finally together! right????
-
I was worried until I saw how mahy BC.org women were behind him. I consider all of us an excellent judgeof character I predict PP will win it all! wait...... I don't want to jinx it........
-
I wish we could hold a AI party...
Thank You...You are the only ones who can understand how happy I am......
Watching the show together is priceless.
♥
-
It was a big victory for him just to be TOP 2
-
It is so good that we can watch together and our boy is in the finals, I truly expected that Jessica would go home. How do you all think that Joshua's voting bloc will go?
-
I agree! I expected him to be gone a few weeks back...... I was worried like a mother to a child
-
???? "Joshua's voting bloc?"
-
Karen...Did you mean who's side Joshua's fans will take?
It will be interesting......
-
Yes, that's what I meant Sheila....
-
Caught most of the show....missed the end when I went upstairs....but heard your screams!
Sheila, was that "lalalalalalala......" to the tune of "hey-ey-ey....g'bye" or to "nanny-nanny-boo-boo"?
The "promote Joshua" judges committee must have been in shock...
About the kidney stones....I'm glad it hasn't come up....it didn't help Bowersox much when she spent some time in the hospital during Idol.
You never know....I never expected to see Kris Allen or Lee DeWyse as Idols.
I think this is more like the battle of the Davids... the 16 year old wonder vs. the talented and humble guy (David Cook) who just did his thing every week and didn't really need the win....
It should be interesting -- either way, they will get recording contracts....Joshua is probably signing one right now. He does have unbounded energy and is always the entertainer.
Meanwhile.....
Go PHIL we LOVE you! -
See you next week ladies, when our boy gives another stellar performance being just himself.
-
Hi Joan.....You really have to peek next week.
Or we keep you updated.......♥
-
-
I may not even be near a computer next week when Idol is on....but will try to convince my family that we need a TV break during vacation.
Sunday in the western US - solar eclipse before sunset. Not visible in the east. -
It never ceases to amaze me how the one who should win Idol, so rarely does. The list of the ones that "should've won" is growing longer and longer!
Clay Aiken
Jennifer Hudson
Katherine McFee
Melinda Doolittle
Kyrstal Bowersox
Adam Lambert (he actually toned it down tonight--no crazy outfit, jewelry, make-up, and no raunchy dance moves)
and now Joshua Ledet !!!! He is incredible, I know he'll go on to do very well, I just am so frustrated he didn't win.
Now that we're stuck with Jessica and Philipp, I don't want either of them.
-
The fans have the final say. Tony Bennett could never understand why he didn't reach superstar status like Frank Sinatra.
-
I think Jessica and Josh split the "power ballad, I want to be the next Mariah Carey" vote. Listen to the radio today and there aren't very many of those singers out there. Joshua is great performer--he will do great at stage performance like Vegas. He may also go the gospel route. He also split the guy vote. And I think PP got the teen vote and the middle age women vote cause he's so darn cute. Joshua just didn't have sex appeal factor. Unfortunately, people don't always vote for the best raw talent. Personality has a lot to do with it. Remember Taylor Hicks? He had personality and was quirky. Not the best singer. And where is he now? (Vegas). The big question is who will the josh voters vote for next week?
-
to me, Joshua's appeal is very limited, just like Clay Aiken - but this is about the style of music that I like. Joshua's over the top screaming and his attitude annoys me but do I think he's the best singer - YES. still, I wouldn't pay to see him. And its funny because Aretha can do it, Janis did it, Steven Tyler did it, and it was magic. Joshua does it and I turn down the volume.
love everything about Phillip. He's humble, grounded, talented. What you hear is who he is. When he sang that second song last night, I felt like he already surpassed american idol and was a first rate rockstar/musician. Funny, I don't think he's as cute as everyone says by looks alone. It's his personality that shines through.
Jennifer Hudson didn't win? WOW... now THAT is a voice! Jessica can not even come close toe Jennifer's voice. Did Jennifer sound as good then as she did now, or did she develop after not winning? This is the first season I've watched consistently.
I tried to like Adam, because he mentioned his whole Burning Man experience (which only made Burning Man look bad in the eyes of average americans - which is good, it keeps them away). I do think he too is true to himself.
-
Must see...A very emotional elimination (Joshua) Scenes we didn'see......
kleenex is needed

NOT winning AI may not be the excruciating disappointment it appears to be.
With no disrespect to PP, only a few of the AI "winners" have gone on to real fame and fortune. Many who DIDN'T win - think Jennifer Hudson - have done much better.
Sadly, many of the "winners" have gone on to have completely forgettable careers.
Here's a tidbit from Wikipedia -
The winner receives a record deal with a major label, which may be for up to six albums and secures a management contract with American Idol-affiliated 19 Management (which has the first option to sign all contestants), as well as various lucrative contracts. All winners prior to Season 9 reportedly earned at least $1 million in their first year as winner. All the runners-up of the first ten seasons, as well as some of other finalists, have also received record deals with major labels. All top ten (eleven in season ten) finalists earn the privilege of going on a tour where the participants may each earn a six-figure sum.
-
Sheila: I did need a Kleenex! Thanks for posting.
-
I really think tptb want jessica and thought Joshua could win against her. Thus PP in the final two where his adorable quiriness may not garner enough votes. So that is my conspiracy theory.
I voted by telephone for the first time this season. I voted PP al the way. I really don't think Jessica should win.
Others are right when they point to Jennifer Hudson whose only fault was a few too many pounds. Being overweight (edited to add..female) on this show is the death knell no matter how good they are. But she is laughing all the way to the bank now and getting paid to lose weight to boot! Usually guys seem to win, right? Coming in first isn't so hot when people cannot even rememer your name. Who won over Clay Ackin? (sp)

Hey ladies I missed y'all last night. Sorry but I am not into AI. Thinking of it this way... These peeps have up sell CDs and concerts to make money and become famous outside of AI. The same teenies voting 50 bazollion times is only going to buy one or two CDs. It will not make this person become another Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. A pretty face and a soso voice doesn't sell records. We saw thSt with Taylor hicks and Kris Allen. Sorry jmo. Love y'all. Think that Hollie would have done tons better.
-
Hi...If you are interested this link will take you AI winning moments from Season 1 to 8
-
Thank you Claire and Sheila - I did get a nice day after birthday present with PP getting in to the finals! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
