Oh my God eveberry! You must be so very worried. i will certainly be praying for him and for you until I hear that he is alright.
-
Thanks Meece for praying for my son. I haven't been that scared in a long time. I finally tracked him down. I don't think we ever quit being a mom.
-
My prayers of Thanks eve.

Meece, thank you so much for starting this thread! I wanted to pass along a book that a friend gave me recently that has been a total godsend. I've re-read it several times and it has helped immensely with managing anxiety and future worries, and the practice of letting go to God, the "Ultimate Controller". It's called, "Calm My Anxious Heart" by Linda Dillow. The author's writing is incredibly down to earth and the book includes inspiring stories, references to scripture and prayers, like this one that I wanted to share with you all:
The lord is my peace. I shall not live in anxiety. He puts me under his wing of comfort and calms my spirit within me. He takes all my anxieties on himself and helps me to focus on him. Yes, though I walk through a time of grave uncertainties and fierce anxieties, I will not fret - for You are my peace. Your word and your presence calm me now. You hold my uncertainties in the palm of your hand. You soothe my anxious mind - you smoothe my wrinkled brow. Surely serenity and trust in you will fill me all the days of my life. And I shall keep my mind stayed on you forever.
Have a blessed day, everyone! -
Welcome, Esmerelda. That is a beautiful passage from the book. I think worry and fear are what keeps us wrestling for control in our lives more than anything else.
Eph, how are you doing? Make sure you take care of yourself.
That goes for each and every one of you. Make time to care for yourself, so you will be prepared for caring for others.

Mom is doing a tiny bit better, enough that she wants to go with my sister & brother up to Eugene for a few days to better visit friends from the nothern end of the state. This is going to sound terrible, but it will be a relief to have them away for a couple days so I can go home from work & hang with my animals who think they have been abandoned I'm sure. i've been taking the dog with me to mom's but she's not really comfortable "traveling". DD & I will go up to Eugene on Saturday to visit a few folks too. I envision early nights Wed, Thurs & Fri!

Ladies would you be so kind to tell me how to post a picture here? New and reading and viewing all the lovely flowers and gardens! I love the inspiring songs!
-
Welcome, cspiritl. What area of AZ are you in? My DS & his family live there. Counting down the days to get to visit on June 12th!
First, click on the little tiny tree icon just to the left of the smiley on the taskbar above. The find a picture on the internet and copy image location. Paste into the box for insert/edit image. If you are trying to post a picture of your own you must first upload it to something like Photobucket, facebook or another website before you can copy the image location.

Joni: don't feel guilty, you need a break from crisis mode, thats' for sure.. and mom is willing /eager to see other people. that's a great thing..
i know i feel guilty leaving my animals , sometimes, when we're busy.. some times, esp in rainy season, i take my "little man" in his cage, with us.. he gets so worked up with the rainstorms..

I've just spend a couple minutes trying to get the picture loader off my screen
I thought it was there due to a giltch in the system-helps to read the posts! Silly me -
-
cspirtl: i did that to see if i can still get on here...
1st; open a photobucket account, its free ( but make sure you scan any pics you grab there that aren't yours)
then, you'll find a part in photobucket that says upload your pics.. (i have chosen from my computer)
then, click on the picture, and choose "copy"
minimize it, and go to bco page that you prev. had.
click on paste. it'll appear on the left. on the right, after you choos paste, a window will pop up.. click on allow a few times, and it should work..
all that is preced with you being in bco and, minimizing on that thread.. sorry that should've been said 1st..
GODD LUCK..

Oh, Eph, you gave me a good chuckle! I never even thought of that, I was jsut trying to show her exactly what she'd be seeing!
(((Eph)))

Meece, i worked in Saddlebrook for years. I did try the photo shop, which i am familiar with. So funny that I can't get it to work. Does that little green tree in the box heading have to be used? I am a member on a car site and all we have to do is add properties. Or do this on the end.. Oh well i will learn soon i hope!
-
Once or twice I have copied and pasted and it worked but I don't know if I did something different. I can't make it work now.
DS & his family live in Sierra Vista. It's a long drive!
-
Just a small prayer request, please.
FDIL has begun interviewing today. She will graduate from the university next month. I pray that she she has good experiences and chooses her employer wisely.
-

Garden Girls, Here's the latest that I sent out on e-mail to friends & family. My mom rocks!
"Mom had an appointment today with the medical oncologist. She has opted to try chemo! My Mom is a BAD A$$! This will be palliative only; a possible shrinkage of the liver tumors. If there is any side effects that mess with her quality of life, the chemo will be stopped, but this was entirely her decision. She is hoping for additional time, as are we.
In the meantime, she's finished all radiation & is having a physical therapist show her different exercises to strengthen her. She uses a walker in the house & a wheelchair when out & about. She looks so much better than she did at the beginning of April-it's unbelievable. If you didn't know she was sick, you wouldn't know she was sick! Prayer & drugs, what a combo!!!
Thank you all for your continued well wishes & prayers-coveted & appreciated."
-
Eph, most definitely prayers are continuing.
-
me too,Eph!!she's a bad ass, for sure, and we have an even better God!!!!!3jays
-
Praise the Lord for good news. Now, to pray for a good quality of life during chemo. I think your mom raised a girl just like her, Eph.
-
Thanks all & Meece, that is a major compliment-thank you!
-
Joni thanks for the update! I will definitely continue to pray for you all!
-
These are the days that make all the chemo days worth it
