Michelle Can you pack me in your suitcase?
DH and I went to Paris in Sept 2011 to celebrate after I completed chemo/Rads-I can't wait to go back at some point. It is so beautiful!!!
-
lookin' good Michelle!

Michelle
I love your colour and your hair looks so thick and healthy! Have a great time on your trip to Paris!
-
LuvRving, you look beautiful. Have a wonderful time in Paris. What a great trip to be taking after all this BC crap
-
Dragon Fly and luvrving you both look awesome!
-
Michelle - love the hair and the color - Paris! Oh la la! Sounds like a great trip!

Clowngirl, When I got my wig fitted, I asked the wig girl to buzz it off for me. She kept telling me that I had so much hair that I should leave it because it would take a while to fall out. For me that was all the more reason to shave it. I could deal with being hairless, but did not want to deal with clumps of hair coming out in my hand for weeks and weeks.
-
Hi myleft... good to see you here too.. Michele What can I say.. you look great.. Have a fun relaxing trip

Today I bought the Nioxin Thinning Hair System Kit. It says 9 out of 10 people noticed thickening effect. Is this what I need in the Nioxin product? TJMaxx had several Nioxin products today.
-
Thanks everyone! Now if they can fix the problem that won't let you upload a new avatar...
-
Seagrover - I use the nioxin system for noticeably thinning color treated hair since I use a temp rinse color every 4 weeks. I can't stand seeing the gray. Im not sure if its the nioxin making my hair grow fast tho - like I said, I saw faster growth when I started using olive oil but the vitamins are probably helping too. Nioxin can't hurt. Im obsessed with my hair and will try anything.

So tomorrow is my one year anniversary for ending chemo.. and today I went to get a new license, and they offered to let me use my old photp (four years younger and long hair) and I actually opted for a new picture... My hair is looking so much like I did it on purpose, and I have a lot of it... I for sure have the chemo curls still at one year, and spend time taming and straightening my hair... but I'm ok with that.
-
Shore1, I have tried to put the olive oil on my hair. Just can't do it. I saw the color treated product for thinning hair but I don't have any color. Or hair for that matter! I will def color, I'm sure as soon as I can depending what color it comes in. I've always had blonde highlights so I know dark hair won't get it.
Any suggestions on putting the olive oil on the head? I'm taking vitamins and biotin, too! I just want some hair! -
dragonfly, your hair looks great, and anyone seeing you for the first time now would never know you'd experienced total hair loss not so long ago.
bdavis, it sounds like your hair is also looking more like a 'normal' do. I got my hair trimmed for the 2nd time in about 10 months PFC and it looks the best it has since it all fell out.
I've been taking pictures of the hair several months now. That is where you really see how your hair is growing. I'm going to take a photo at the beginning of June when I will be 1 year PFC. Then I will post several of my pictures and you will see the progress.
I remember taking a photo of myself in September. I forgot about it till I uploaded pictures to my computer in January. I had thought my hair growth was at a stand-still. But seeing the photos I saw that there was truly visible growth, so I made sure to take a monthly picture.
-
LuvRVing, your hair looks great, too! Enjoy Paris!
-
bdavis - I have to renew my license on Saturday and I am praying they let me use my old picture! You just gave me hope
-
You'll all hate me. I had to change my driver's license picture because the photos was 8 years old (I had my long bob). It was a great photo but my new photo turned out fabulous. I got it done this past December.
I have more/longer bangs now. Finally got my hair dresser to stop cutting them short.
-
Megs. I have done great lengths hair extensions and I love them!!!! I have had them in for about 2 months. I didn't lose all of my hair because I also used cold caps- yes, I am very vain:). So I went straight from my wig ( which was almost spot on to my real hair) to extensions. Most people didn't know about my cancer and I preferred it that way. I think the extensions gave me back me.

kriskat
I am really interested in extensions but don't know anything about them. None of my friends have done them either. How long was your hair before this was doable?
-
Kriskat... Tell us about extensions !!!
-
I wore ridiculous wigs.......and made other people less afraid in the process. It was a double blessing!

my real hair came back better than before....fell out January of 2011...came back with a vengence October, 2011. I wouldn't trade it now or color it for all the tea in China. I feel free.
love,
michele

That video was awesome!! I love your new do too!! I hope Dr. Phil "makes you a star!". I particularly loved the red haired with with the braids, very ala Pippy Longstockings!
-
Michele....
what an amazing video........thanks so much for sharing it.
Your story and wonderful sense of humor through such a challenging time is a true inspiration! -
love the video! Thank you for sharing it!

I second the Anastasia brow kit! It's great. Bought it at Sephora. Anyone not lose their eyebrows a second or third time after finishing Taxol? I've just gotten my back and would really like to not part with them again.
-
Yes do tell about the extensions kriskat! I'm trying to figure out how much hair you need to get them.
Also, did anyone not lose their eyebrows a second or third time after Taxol? -
I only lost my eyelashes and brows once. Thinned next and now thickening up
