Please please plase tell me that it's my eyelashes won't dissppear again! They're finally back and I feel feminine for the first time in ages.
Also, my bottom lashes are longer than before, and it sort of (but not really) helps make-ip for the manly silver brushcut

michele the color is gorgeous you will show those Parisains how we roll in the US!!
mt4ever I felt pretty good even without my hair considering. I was heart broken at first but then I picked myself up and got a ton of cute hats, and a few wigs, and lots of amkeup and earrings, and jsut had fun with it. I even got hit on in a bar once. I looked at the whole hair loss as a do over, to get all new healthy hair again. My new hair is much thicker than the baby fine stuff I had before BC. I also enoyed not having to wash and style every day. Throwing on a hat is way easier. I wore hats most of the time even though I had 3 nice wigs. I wasn't working, well working some at home, but I put my wig on when I went put once in a while. It was winter so I needed a warm hat anyway. I would think you summer gals probabaly need sun hats now anyway. I also wore bandanas to the gym. I recommend the Look Good Feel Better Program. They will give you a big bag of great makeup for free and show you how to use it all, with some great scarf tricks too. Good luck to you don't let it get you down. Keep stressing the positive. You are killing the cancer and your hair will grow back.

Thanks for that kick in the ass!! I know I need it. I'm normally a glass half full person but sometimes, well you know. Love your attitude and sprit. I need to get a couple more fun wigs. I'm still not comfortable yet rocking the bald outside of my house, I did surprise myself tonight when I went out to move the sprinker and totally forgot I didnt have anything on my head! The warmth of the sun does feel good without hair and so does the shower I have come to realize! I really am starting to think I wear something on my head for total strangers.
-
Something they didn't tell me about hair loss. It's hard to put on and take off eye glasses. They seem to run into dry skin and don't slide by silky hair with ease. I continually put lotion behind my ears to help the process. Almost 4 weeks PFC and only fuzz. Hurry hair.
-
NCbeachgal, I have the opposite problem. I'm so used to putting my glasses on the top of my head -- and having them stay there -- that I forget and put them on top of my bald head, and they constantly fall off!
-
My situation is different in that I had hair all different lengths. I lost alot of hair around the crown so I literally had all lengths. The shortest was probably 2 inches and the rest longer ( I looked like a bird with a mullet). We put 12 inch ext in all throughout my hair. I did alot if research to see what would be easiest on my fragile hair. The great length ext are expensive but they typically last around 9 months if taken care of properly. U need to someone who has alot of experience. I go in about every 4 weeks for color at the roots( my hair grows fast). It was the single best thing I could've done for my self esteem. My husband couldn't believe how it transformed me mentally back to my old self !! If someone would like to see pics please pm me and I would be happy to send u a couple!

Just popping in and catching up - everyone is looking fabulous as always
!!
Lago - is your hair straight now? Let me know how the bangs are coming. I am letting mine grow a bit and leaving the back and sides short, but they still want to curl right up. I am back out training on the water so likely shorter is better for awhile. I'll have to send some pics, with all the sunshine and outdoorsy stuff, my freckles have returned.....I remember you like them LOL.
....and on another note, last I was posting, I believe I was batting my lovely eyelashes at everyone...well, they've thinned again *sigh* but only just thinned - not disappeared - so I can't complain too much. I am using a pencil again to fill in my brows, which I don't think I will continue to bother because I just end up rubbing them all off during the day anyway.
-
ok I just did some product experementing at Sallys this week. My issue is that my hiar is beginning to frizz and kind of scraggle on the ends. Right under my bangs in the front I have like frizzy baby hair, the rest is long and blows out nicely. So not sure if it's dead ends cause I have never trimmed it or dry from blow drying every day. I don't shampoo every day. So I got two things I like but I still think I need a trim. First I got Beyond Zone smooth criminal blow out balm $7.49. It helps with teh flyaways and make smy hiar feel really soft. Then I got one n only argan oil hiar spray $9.49, which I think is less drying than the fructis stuff I was using and seems to add a little shine, but the hold is not as stiff as I am used to, more of a combable hold which I am getting used to. I am thinking I still need to get a trim ugh the thught of cutting anything off is awful. But I want to grow it long and I want it to be super healthy so I can make it blonde again.
Any comments or suggestions from our hair experts is appreciated.

Carrol hair needs to be trimmed to cut of the dead ends especially if you blow dry, use a curling iron and/or have dry hair. The longer you wait the more the split end travels up the shaft. I'm afraid you need to trim it.
-
Carrol
I know the thoughts of a pair of scissors coming near your hair is upsetting but a trim will breath new life into your mane. Lago's right, the longer you leave it the more the ends will split. I have no idea if my theory is right or not, but the ends are what grew out first and are likley the most fragile?
-
OMG...to even have the option of getting a hair cut....I faintly remember those days.......
-
AEMA47 I am so sorry if this was an insesitive question in light of so many posters still waiting for their hair to grow. I know how I envied the posts showing hair growth when I was still in treatment. I still look longingly at women with long beautiful manes. I am just so confused at what to do with this new hair because I actually really like it and want to take the best advantage of it.
lago and myleftboob thanks for the input I think I knew you were right and I will have to bite the bullet and get a trim.
<<<making call now for an appointment
-
Even tho I trim mine, I am still getting a mullet..oh for the 70's. I would be right in style!!!
-
Schatzi hate to tell you this but the reverse mullet is the look now.
(Most are very goofy)
-
well that's mine...sure looks goofy...but HEY it's hair right?

Party in the back, business in the front! Yes, it's hair!!! I keep checking the mirror daily for new growth LOL! I started taking Biotin 2 days ago, jeez you would think something would have happened by now! In all seriousness. I'm a little 25 days PFC and their is a little growth. I can feel stubbles where I was smooth and the white fuzzies are growning too. Weird on the white fuzzies though. In looking closely, I can see where there is white at the end, brown in the middle, then white near the root! Sigh... I just hope it grows fast!
-
MLB...once it starts. it seems to just cover your head in a few weeks. Mine is bi-coloured....white and charcoal. Anyone's guess how it's going to end up....everyone loves to rub my head tho...sheesh
To tell the truth, after so long of looking at a bald head and scarves etc. I feel kinda sexy. I always wear blush and lipstick...eyebrow pencil and ALWAYS ALWAYS my gold hoop earrings. Hate having to shave my legs again tho. Yesterday my DD said...Mom you have fine white hair all over your chin...ya need to get that waxed! I am hoping it will just go away. If it's not one thing, it's another. "SIGH"
-
shiatzi
When was your last chemo? Oh yeah on the chin front here too!
-
The facial peach fuzz does go away.
-
Robo47 - beautiful!
-
Robo in smaller size
wow a lot has grown in since I saw it a few weeks ago! Are you ready to go topless? It's really adorable
-
I like the big pictures cause at least you can see what is going on lol!
Don't worry you will have alot more before you know it!
Carroll I have had to trims and desperatly need another one. My bangs, (yes I said bangs) are in my eyes!!! I used the keratin treatment today that I bought at Walmart and cannot beleive the difference in my hair. Just can't wait to see what it does after a washing. Hoping it stays straight and shiny!
-
robo, beautiful, yes! And girl, you gots no wrinkles! You have such lovely lips and skin.
It would seem to me that your hair growth is pretty good for five months. I do not have a photo of myself at 5 months because back then I wasn't really thinking to take hair shots every month or so. I have one at 7 months with just a bit more hair than you have now.
I hope you continue to take a snapshot of your hair about the same time each month. You will really see that even tho it seems like the hair is at a standstill, it's actually growing.
-
Robo - Your hair looks AWESOME !! But you have me worried about the brows and lashes now. Mine are still falling out and it's 26 days PFC. I'm wondering if it's ever going to stop. How far are you PFC?
-
Robo
You're lovely!! What is it with the eyebrow thing? Mine hung in there pretty good for the 12 weeks during TX, yes thinner but not bad with a brow pencil. Now that I'm more than 3 weeks PFC they're very very sparse. What up wit dat!! GRRR.
-
MLB...I was done chemo Feb 8th...I started getting white fuzz about halfway thru my Taxol treatments. I was happy happy...doesn't take much these days does it? Any sign will do.
robo you look fantastic...I have about that much hair but more grey. My eyebrows are about 3/4 grown in but they are all over the place. I am plucking them a bit trying to get back to the old shape but still use pencil at the ends...they just STOP!!! I have a huge cowlick in the back too. "sigh"
Lago...I sure hope you are right about the peach fuzz...I hate it!
-
Schatzi even my onc told me it would go away. It does
-
lago...whew...I will be happy to keep my few coarse white chin hairs that I had before but this "beard" I don't need LOL
What causes it? Is it the Arimidex?
-
Chemo. But if you are talking about just stray hairs that might be lack of estrogen. I had soft longish peach fuzz all over my face, neck and some back after chemo. I looked like I had a halo around me but that fell out eventually. I do have some light peach fuzz now that no one but me notices but nothing like after chemo.
-
Robo you look great. That is about the point I ditched the covers and wigs and went topless. Now at 19 weeks pfc I have about ! inch of growth so I just bleached it blonde to have fun with it. Saw an old friend who did not know about my cancer and she absolutely loved my new "style". She could not believe I did not do it on purpose. Made me feel great
