Lymph node leakage

Hi - my onc mentioned on my last visit that my cancer came out of my lymph nodes does anyone know the proper name for this.

Or has anyone else had this i am a bit worried that this makes my already not so good DX worse

im not quite sure what he meant but perhaps he meant your positive nodes...that the cancer spread from the breast and traveled through your lymph nodes?

In my path, it was called extra capsular extension.

Hello,

The name that has been mentioned is correct. But, I don't think you will receive a less desireable diagnosis. I am also a Stage IIIc with 14/15 nodes positive....I also had the cancer on my chest wall and in my auxillary attached to a nerve (removed the chest wall and nerve piece that were affected). In fact, our diagnosis is very similar and almost EXACTLY a year apart!!! Weird.

Extra capsular extention-Also on my path report and it freaked me out too. But look down at my stats-I am over 6 yrs. out!!

Something that my onc told me was that the first nodes in line caught the cancer. Leaving 12 clean ones to follow. So the nodes were doing what they were suppose to do.....catch the nastyness. And my onc isnt the most compastionate man, by far.
