I just hope they have some casinos in Arizona. I feel like winning big.

Gonna be a thrilling day today: Target, cleaning Nathan's room, bathing the dog. I LOVE it. Hope you all are having similarly routine days. Routine is good.

Took my first Femara today. Hopefully, it's already wringing out whatever estrogen is still lurking. I think it's very annoying that FAT makes estrogen. What am I supposed to do with that pan of brownies I just made? Oh, wait, THAT's where the Femara comes in....

    See ya,

    PJ,

The great procrastinator is doing tax stuff today, among other things like getting clothes etc. ready for the week. I am switching back and forth between the Master's and baseball, not keeping up with either all that much. I will tell you how much I need to win at the Casino when I finish my taxes.

The fat thingee reminds me of when I had the PET scan (I think it was that one). They shot me full of sugar "because cancer cells love sugar and cling to it and light up." I told them that in that case, I had been good to mine. Brownies sound good. I think I may have one in my Nutri System stash. Of course I will add strawberries and FF whipped cream.

Got back from Glendive this morning. Got all my junk unloaded from the jeep and brought it into the yard and used the battery cables to start my pickup which has been parked in yard with a dead battery for the last month. I've been cleaning the house and tossing stuff in the back to where it looked like a garbage scow. Drove over to my "junk holes" in the pasture and cleared out the junk. Didn't dare start the pits on fire tho because although the ground and the grass is all wet--it's very windy and with my luck a stray ash would blow over and burn up my house or barns. I'll wait til the wind subsides and light up the pits. Then while I had the pickup running, I drove to town and got gas put in it. I made the mistake of taking my dog in the cab with me. He turns into "Hooch" when he rides in a vehicle. You've never seen so much slobber in your life and it's SO slimy. When we got to town, I took paper towels and wiped his slimy face and took a cloth and water to wipe off my dash. YUCK. Needless to say, he rode in the back on the way home and I remember now why I never take him with me. He's a knothead. My CEU classes were really interesting and I got 12.5 units for recertification. The speaker on Friday was a swat officer who spoke on bullying and conflict in schools. Very interesting. Yesterday's topic was The Brain and Learning. We actually made models of the brain out of clay and also another out of instant potatoes. That one really looked like a brain. It was interesting and fun and I learned a lot about memory and brain cells. Now if my chemo brain can just retain any of what I learned.......Hope you all had a blessed Sabbath--Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee

PJ, Hope you time in your schedule to meet up. July is such a great time to be here and the zoo just finished with the carousel. We go to the zoo about once a month- even in the winter.
Mary, You've inspired me to clean out some of my closets. It seems it is a never ending battle keeping them clean and I hardly ever go shopping to bring more stuff in! My mom and dad keep passing there stuff on to us. My guys do take a bunch of that, but they have piles of stuff here yet.
Janie- stay out of the way of all those storms you are supposed to get this season. I don't know how they can figure that out at this point?
It is going to be a beautiful 69 today!!! Had to get out some of my spring clothes and packed away those wool jackets. 5 days to go till the end of tax season ( and a grumpy hubby) and 1 month to Ry's graduation and a trip to Galveston. Yippee!

Hey Girls, with the spring and sun comes yernings to be outside, in the mud from all the rain.Well, hubby is gone again and he left me some tools in case I need them. He did a small demo on how to and what to use them for. He forgets I repair his "fixes". He is headed for Blenker WI. He crunched the back door on the truck today while backing in the dock. Its not bad but he felt bad. Girls, I just worry but he will make it, or not. My son has to have surgery on his shoulder again and he fractured his leg Sat. He fell on his porch and hit the corner and fractured his leg between the hip and knee. He is a mess, he must get it from his dad. He is soo scared of surgery. He had one on his shoulder about 8 months ago and they cut a piece of bone out and a tumor but now they are going to cut a muscle and attach it to his back shoulder bone (and if I could think I would tell you exactly what bone but I just have a blank). Well I better go. Hi all, packing to do, junk to throw out. It doesn't bother me to throw away hubby's junk but; Why do I get a stirring feeling in my stomach every time I throw something I haven't used in a year away because I know I will need it tomorrow? sigh! Renee, we'll definitely have to get together for lunch or something when i'm up there (week of july 1).

Hi to Janie and Nancy Lee.

Hi yourself--This afternoon I sat in a sandbox and dug up earthworms for Casey, Jayni, Destiny, Alivia and Riley. Casey named his worm Bert and put him in a sand bucket and then actually put him in his pocket and took him home to show his grandpa!! I'll bet his mom LOVES me when she cleans out those pockets!! I told them that we could go fishing with all the nice worms, but they were all horrified by the suggestion. We had 47 children at daycare today and I actually cooked lunch for 39. But the digging in the dirt made up for all the kitchen time. Also as we were waiting for parents to show up to pick up their kids tonight I was holding baby Rory on one knee and baby Parker on the other and Parker leaned over and kissed me on the cheek and then kissed Rory. Sweet. Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee

    Hi All,

Everyone sounds so busy with cleaning and packing and worms, oh my! Mary, does DH have a CB? You could bug him on it. Do truckers still have those? I have to evaluate 4 kindergarteners among other things tomorrow. At least one or two will probably be under the table, over the table and around the table -- I don't care, as long as I get my info, they can hang from the ceiling. One of the kids I tested a week or so ago wore me out. When I picked him up, the teacher said that she hoped I had taken my vitamins. When I walked him back, we passed the assistant principal. He piped up and told her "I did so good with her." I have a bunch of little ones to do. Next year, they are moving one of the special needs preschools to my school, so I get to test two year olds again. Have a good evening ladies. Good to hear from all of you.

Hey Girfriends, Yea I too have about 55 items of the clothing nature on the spare bed waiting to see if I keep all of them or some. I couldn't bear to throw them away without some "think about it" time. Hey Janie, hubby has a C.B. so you have a good idea. I could learn to speak "trucker" like "metal to the pedal" and "come back" and "smokey" oh crap, I have a lot to learn. Can he hear me all the way in Dallas, Texarkana and Memphis and Ca. and WI.? I don't have any idea. Do they reach that far? I just can't imagine him talking on a C.B. I just never thought about it till now. I know he said he just listens but I bet he is honing his trucker language as we speak. Thats funny. If you ever heard him talk you would understand. He just talks weird, it takes him 20 words to ask "wheres my glasses". Ya know? he is a word user, he uses too many words. Does that make sense? I always chime in and just finish his sentences because its quicker. Well grandson Bailey and I flew a kite for 2 hours after we ate this eve. It was windy and all we had to do was throw it up and away it went. The school 2 blocks away has a 1 acre lot so we went there. He is all into Mosses on T.V., he went to Catholic school until last year, he is 10. I am impressed he watching it so intently. Well I better get. Hubby has been in Blenker WI. all day waiting to get a tire changed and he is not happy. He reminded me of the tools he left and some with notes to remind me what they do, OH MY LORD!!!! If he wasn't in WI. I would take him down!!! What the????I replastered these walls, hung the drapes, O.K. He put up the chandelier in the hall but hey....he didn't flip the breaked and it sparked (he said it wouldn't) and the whole darn light puffed with smoke and came right out of the ceiling and almost hit me in the head!!!! Now there was a good gash I had to wood putty so no one would notice on the stair railing. What if that had been my head??? I would be dead!!!!or brainless... well more so than now....It wouldn't have helped O.K.? Oh, youngest sister(not the brainless one) has a lump and they are sending her to my surg. for a sonagram and get it checked. She asked me to go with her as she has no one. This is the one divorcing the crazy Dentist. I hope its just a cyst. She has the child with C.P. in a wheel chair and if she has to get it worked on or if it is bad news I will have to help her but I can't lift her daughter cause my shoulders are bad and my whole body. Her hubby wouldn't help, he is an A*&. Well, I better go. Nancy, you just remind me of a Mark Twain book. Rene and P.J. I hope yous get together. My Mom-in-law's bro. and family members are coming in from Fla. tomorrow so I will get in plenty of the southern talk and cooking. I do love those grits and corn bread. UMMMUMMMUMMM. Hugs Mary

Hi Ladies--Want to wish you all a Happy Easter before I take off to see my mom. I'm driving up there tonight. It's only a 4 hour drive so I've been goofing around and washing clothes and packing and paying bills. I didn't go to work today. I stuffed 283 plastic eggs with candy before I left work last night for the egg hunt today and then I called in this morning and told them to deal with me being absent. I figured the worst of the task was completed. I got up this morning and took a long walk across the pasture with my dog. We stopped and visited with my 3 horses who pestered us part of the way home. The dog and I climbed a butte and sat on the top and looked at the view. My crocus hill was covered in purple flowers and also had buttercups and little white may flowers all over it. I think that Spring is finally here. Well, better get on the road. Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee

Mary, Have you tried cheese grits yet? If not, you must. You just made me think of cornbread and soup beans and onions........ummmmm.....I may blow the diet tonight.

Nancy Lee, Montana sounds like a beautiful state. Do you know if the Horse Whisperer was actually shot there, or were they just pretending it was Montana? As long as Redford was there, who cares where they were.

It has been a tough week at work. I am glad it is over.
Everyone have a blessed and Happy Easter!

Hey you Playboy Bunnies.... I mean Easter Bunnies. You all have a grerat Easter. I have eggs to color and baskets to make for grandkids. I of course had to buy a couple creme filled eggs for me. I went with sister for sonagrams, one of abdomen and she has a large fibroid tumor in uterus but Dr. has never done anything about it. They couldn't find her lump in her breast but sono-ed the area anyway and it appeared clear but she has to go to the Surg. Wed to get a reading. We ate and shopped a little(we go our own ways and call when we are done except when she is on the other side of the freeking mall and needs to know if a golf skirt looks O.K.) Yea; she golfs or tries to. I walk a lot of miles thanks to her. She made me buy a purse and wallet I loved but just couldn't bring myself to buy for some time and I got a surprise because it was on sale but!!!!the wallet wasn't so I paid as much for both as just the purse so that wasn't bad and I haven't gotten a new wallet for like 8 years but the old one was still good. She has to have everything match, oh, la-te-freeking-da. She has always been like that and I just have to love her anyway. Her towels and wash rags and hand towels color cordinate!!!!! Yea, shes a Martha Stewert wanna be. I call her Martha all the time. Heck, when you open my towel closet, what falls out you use and it's not pima cotton. If I had Pima cotton, I would put it up so as not to wear it out. Oh well, I better get. Don't ya hate picking up that plastic grass for months after Easter? Hugs, Mary

Good for you spending the money on a purse you love, Mary. I'm like you: frugal most of the time. But sometimes it feels so good to get what you want.

Having our Easter dinner a night early. Have a friend coming into town who's like Nathan's uncle. So we'll go see Ice Age (again) and then come home and Matt will have everything ready. (he's in charge of the food) I'm in charge of dessert, so I bought two pies and my work is done.

I'm going to quit going to the recurrence/mets board for awhile I think. Everyone there was great when I had my recurrence, but it's so heart-breaking. I'm trying to get the bad stuff behind me and forget about it as much as possible until my scan in July....

Ii don't know about grits. I've never tried them, but Matt loves them. I got him a sweet potato pie (really only because they didn't have pumpkin, but he also said he likes it, so I was being SORT of nice). That Southern cooking....

Great Easter to all. Janie, hope you're rested up.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We had Easter Sunrise service for the first time in our new church building. It was a bit early for me, but a very nice service. I have to admit, I did come home after the breakfast and jumped back into bed for another hour before taking off for grandmas! I have no Easter candy in the house and didn't find the basket at grandmas till we left so I took 3 small pieces of chocolate... someday I will hunt for those when I have the craving for peanut butter eggs!
Paula, I can understand your feeling on staying away from the boards. That is the good thing about these, we are here when you need us but can stay away when it is 'a little to much info to handle'
I am anxiously awaiting my pak for the business I joined in February.. should be here on Wednesday. I've had very good response from showing the few catalogs that I have. That along with the crazy travel, graduations, and more travel will make for a busy end of April and May.
Grits? the only ones I've had were awful.. maybe it's an acquired taste or you have to add a bunch of stuff to make them taste like anything. Sweet potato pie- yummy!
We had some nasty storms here lately with huge hail. We had no damage but I thought our windows were going to break. a bit smaller than golf balls for about 3 minutes, which doesnt' sound like a long time, until they are plastering your house. Thats' twice with hail in less than a month...
    Later... Renee

Glad everyone had a good Easter. Janie let me guess what you were up to???? Tickling the tail on the Easter Bunny or eating leftovers and candy....Thank God we buy way too much candy and Wally had it on sale today so hey, love those Russell Stover cream and marshmellow eggs. Hubby called and his truck blew up just inside of WI. so they took him up to Blenker where he sat in a wooden chair from like 9 this a.m. until 8 P.M. and they would not take him 22 miles to the nearest town to eat or get a room so he began to walk. I am so upset!!!! I called the dispatch girl to get a cab number so he could call(he was about 5 miles down the road) and she said the cabs would not go out that far and he should of stayed until 10 p.m. to get a ride from one of the 500 employees when they went home. He had been up since 1a.m. and had not eaten or slept. I was poed!!!!I said I hope nothing happens to him (he has a bad heart) or someone will pay and she said "So what, I have neumonia and I am at work". I said thats your problem. I could of choked her which is what my hubby had just told me when I talked to him. I told him to come home not take that crap. His truck is broke down 2 days out of 5. I don't like this co. and the only reason he is taking it is so I will have the med. insurance and this de-Boer trucking co. is taking advantage of him. I told him to get out of there. I only have 4 treatments left and I have ins. until the end of the month so 2 less treatments wont hurt. He said no it is o.k. but I will not let him do this. Oh we will talk...He could make better money flipping hambergers, at least its steady work.O.K. I feel better well I will when he calls from a motel. He is sitting alongside a country road right now with a dead cell phone. They told him to leave his stuff in the disabled truck and he don't know where it is. What an outfit!!!! Well another day in our disfunctional lives. Well better go wait for hubby to call. I am a wreck, stress free????whats that???? Hugs, Mary

Mary, that's awful! You're right; he shouldn't be treated like that. Sounds like a rotten company. And that driving is hard work! What's the timetable on the move? Maybe he can find something better in Phoenix. Terrific on your being nearly done with the treatments. That'll be a happy day when you're done.

Hot here. They had rolling blackouts throughout the state (including here) because there was too much electrical consumption. I can hardly wait til July and August.

Hi to everyone. I'm off to work.

Hi Girls, P.J. I heard on the news about the heat down there. It is a bit cool here after 89 degrees. Hubby was in 35 degrees with a t-shirt on. I called the Moore Co. sheriff dept. and hubby called and thanked me for the ride. He went back to truck co. and stayed in a truck parked in the lot. He didn't sleep because he was so cold. Thank The Lord for the Moore Co. Sheriff dept. for their kindness. Hubby got to the truck to stay around 1:30 in the morning and he called at 7 a.m. and said he got to town and was in a motel and going to sleep. I said wake up and come home!!!! He hadn't eaten since the night before. I am soooo upset. I guess the owner likes his money no matter what happens to his employees. Hubby is such a good worker too and he is too nice for his own good, it is just sad. If we loose our insurance for 1 day I am pre-existing and can't get insurance again but I don't care. We will survive. Hope the day is good for all you little after Easter bunnies. Thanks for listening to my ranting. I will be moving starting this wk. end(here in town for now). Man is coming to appraise the house in like 10 mins. oops, Mary

Hey Janie, whats new? Hubby got a newer truck and an apology. He is on the road again. I told him quit but he said no because of the med. ins. and because he has to prove he can drive a truck and better than anyone else like being the best carpenter there ever was and we know how that turned out. He is going to stay on the road all wk. end and come home next wk. end since he didn't make any money all wk. I will need the help next wk. end anyway moving. We got the mobile home here temporarily because I just can't stay with anyone. I need my own space. My dad lives 28 miles away and I would stay there but my ex sister-in-law lives with him. She is finally moving when schools out but..... she is taking my dad with her to help pay the bills!!!! Whatever. I plan to go to Phoenix in May or June and get a place but stay here until Sept. or I may go down there sooner. I will play it by ear. I know I will want to be there sooner. I went to our town suppport group lastnight. It is once a month and it was nice. I will go back. In a small town you sometimes; no always get gossip and it usually is not true so I tend to shy away from things like that but this was o.k. Hi to all you girls. Well better get. Kids to get to school. Hugs, Mary

Okay--remember when I said that Spring was here??? NOT--Here's my saga of the last week--I got back from my Easter visit to see my brother and Mom on Easter Monday. It was starting to rain a bit that day and I made this huge meatloaf that night and popped it in the oven and made these 3 big bowls of jello and put them in the fridge to harden up before I put some mixed fruit in them. This was all for the daycare on Tuesday because I thought I'd do it ahead of time and then I could come back home and pump water out of my basement which had about 6 inches and the pumps had to be on pretty much continuously to keep up. Anyway--I sat down to watch a little TV while the meal progressed and the power went off!!! So I sat for awhile thinking that it would come back on--NOT. At 10 PM I put the fruit in the jello holding a penlight flashlight in my mouth. I put tinfoil over the meatloaf and put it in the fridge. At 1:30 am the power came back on. I got up at 6 and turned my pumps back on for now 12 inches of water and went into town. It was snowing lightly, but pretty warm so it was melting as soon as it hit the ground. I left the food at the daycare, got the mail and headed back home. Got a call from the daycare at 10 and 2 of the people had to leave on emergencies so I drove back to town. I left the pumps running. The power went back off at NOON on Tuesday. It REALLY started to snow. By 4 the sheriff and the road department started closing the roads around town to emergency travel only. I left the 3 workers I had and got some supplies and headed back home. I drove around the road closed sign and a trip that usually takes me 15 minutes took almost an hour. I couldn't see right in front of my vehicle. I made it and put my jeep in the garage--where it is now trapped by the way!! So the walk from the garage to the house was interesting--I kept almost falling over because the wind was so strong. Dash, the goofy dog, ran over me getting into the house where there was NO power. And I have Electric heat. So I put on multiple layers of clothing and found my flashlights and candles and prepared for the evening. Wednesday morning--The town of Baker was isolated--all roads in and out were closed, the schools were closed, streets were blocked. I heard all this on my portable radio. It was a howling blizzard. I couldn't get my front door open and couldn't see the end of the sidewalk where my front gate is. I could however see my breath in the house!!!! I put on thermal underwear, 3 pairs of socks, carhart bibs, a sweatshirt, 2 fleece hoodies, a carhart jacket, hat, scarf, mittens and sat in in chair with 3 blankets over me. Oh, and my brother's big pacs cuz my feet were freezing. The power remained off all day. Thursday--It was 50 degrees outside--I got the front door open by pushing and walked out into the sparkly day. Those snowdrifts are SO HARD that you can drive a vehicle over them and not sink in. I can walk over every fence and right over the top of my clothesline!! Anyway, I went down and threw bales of hay to the sheep and let them out so they could get water from the ground because the troughs weren't working because of the no electicity thing. I scooped buckets of corn out of the feeder and corned the sheep by hand and fed the bum lambs some powdered milk that I mixed up with water that dripped off the top of the house from the melting snow. The best part of this was that I didn't have to dress up to go outside because I had all the stuff already on!! The highway south of town that I take was still closed all day Thursday. Friday--yesterday actually--Tom came out from town and brought me a thermos of coffee--which I don't drink--but it's the thought that counts. He fed all his stock and I let the ewes and lambs into my yard to do some mowing. That way I don't need to. When he left, the road across my dam collapsed behind him. He called on his cell phone and warned me in case I got a notion to leave--AS IF--anyway Dash and I walked up there and the guy from the county appeared with a backhoe to dig it up. I took my camera and took some pictures of it this time. It did this back in December and they told me they'd fixed it good that time--RIGHT?? So on the way back Dash and I did some snowbank tromping and that's when I found out how hard they are. I guess it's from the rain that came first and how hard that wind blew because these are seriously HARD snowbanks. I spent the day reading and playing frisbee with the dog and just goofing around. Today--I got up at 6 am and tried to get the garage door open--No way--The snow is too deep so I went and started my pickup and actually drove it up over the snow in front of it. That's how I know you can drive a pickup over these drifts!! So I crawled thru the window of the garage and got the keys out of my jeep for my house in there and the daycare and went to town and took a hot shower and went to the restaurant and had a HOT breakfast. I picked up my mail and the papers and came home and the power came back on at NOON today. So I went 4 days without power and heat and running water and it's 70 degrees out there and the snow is all melting and there's 4 feet of water in my basement and the pumps are working their little motors off and I heated water on the stove to pour in the sink so I could wash dishes because my hot water heater is under that water in the basement so I have no hot water yet. I guess I'll see if it's ruined or not hopefully by sometime tomorrow. I had to throw three big black garbage bags of food away from my fridges and from my freezer. Even though I didn't open them so that they'd stay cold--4 days of no electricity just didn't work. SIGH!! Well--that's my SAGA. Maybe Spring isn't quite here yet!! Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee

Nancy, GEEZE, I don't know how you stand it. I have put up with it as long as I can. I just can't take the cold and snow anymore. Good Luck girlfriend. Hope all is melted and dried. Hi all. hugs, Mary

Hi girls. Nancy's in iceland and I'm in toastland. Wig's coming off tomorrow (except for taking Nathan to school. He's not ready for that).

    Mary, was this moving weekend?

Janie, I'm looking forward to the end of the school year. Won't have to get up so heinously early...

Renee, hope things are well up there.

Nothing much else up here. Busy weekend. I loved it.

    PJ,

Do you have hair yet? Even after all this time, mine is still not that great. I was trying to let it grow out but it was in all directions and getting really yucky, so I went to have it shaped, which means is it short again. I would have some curl put in it, but I rolled it to check it out and it looked like one of those old lady doos, and I am not ready to look like my Mom yet. It would be ok, if it were longer and fuller, but curling this would only make it worse, so I continue with the pixie and letting the back grow some. I heard that Herceptin causes it to grow slower. I think it did.

Mary, what are you up to? Nancylee, is the water gone out of the basement yet?

    Hey Renee, How's WI?

I've got probably an inch all over. Everything's covered, but not by much. It's still in that really soft, babylike hair stage. So far, so good on the wigless. My makeup might look horrible by now, but since I can't see it, I don't really care! I'm gonna rethink the eyeliner thing tomorrow. It's HARD!

    Have a lovely evening, all,

Hey Girls, I had my hair cut here a couple wks. ago and the gal chopped it shorter than I asked. I went to my regular guy and he fixed it and dyed and highlighted it and its better but pretty short. My hair was all helter skelter too and it still is; just in a short version. I look like I have bed head all the time!!!!! It is really dry. Hubby was an hour in a half away Sun. A.M. until Mon. a.m. so I drove to spend Sun. with him. I pulled up and he had the hood on the truck up. I about sh#t. I though great he is gonna "fix" the truck. He was cleaning it and checking it over because a light was on that said check engine. I said please don't touch anything, they have people that do that and actually know what they are doing. He left it alone, while I was there anyway. We had a good time with just the 2 of us. I am putting everything in storage until we leave for Phx. Mom-in-law asked me about having a place here today and I said we were not going to get one here now. She was a little upset because of her stage 4 lung cancer. She could live a while or not and I just need to go. I feel bad but she and her daughter are now closer (they were not before) so it is time for her daughter to take care of things and not me. Rick is gone in the truck all but 4 days a month so I am not really taking him away because he doesn't see her much. She is uhhh kinda demanding and hard to satisfy. I wouldn't even try. I was hauling things to the storage all day. I can't believe there is still so much left. Better go I am wore out. I just get tired easy. 3 treatments left. Hugs, Mary
