oh Rosemary, I'm so sorry.
How sad that no one knows what your friend would want or that she didn't leave clear instructions.
many hugs.
-
I'm so sorry things have gone so bad for your friend Rosemary ... sending a big (((hug))) your way.
-
Red wine and spagheti. Comfort food. Mmmm...
I have barely controllable asthma but my friend with no lung issues is dying Life is unfair . Fate is capricious. We need to be reminded every once in a while we are not in control but this time it is a hard hard lesson.
Enjoy life ladies. It is precious.
-
rosemary-b yes life is unfair! Your friends situation should bring home to all of us how precious life is.
I had a student in my class with brittle bone disease, it made me so aware of how we need to live life daily. She has moved to another school, but my heart is with her daily. All the other children in my class will never be the same spending this past year with her.
-
Roseamry - so sorry about your friend (((((((((HUGS)))))))))
Quick post - been absoluetly flat out at work - all supposed to be finished tomorrow and I'm hoping I can get it done before lunch - not too confident - eeek. Have had to resort to doing a bit at home at night.
Really missing Blue!!!! hope you're OK.
-
Hi Everybody,
Hope everyone is having a good day. I've been very busy with my mom visiting. We took a drive up to the mountains yesterday.

This pic was taken at Mabry Mill. Sorry it's so tiny, but I had to copy from Facebook. Couldn't get my photobucket to work.
hugs,
Bren

Hey Bren~
Where you and your mom are looks very peaceful. We just hosted a party for my 7 year old and she invited the whole class (me thinking that many of them would not be able to make it). Well, we had 26 kids on a moonbounce slide in the front yard! I think a trip to Mabry Mill right now would be good...
-
Great photo Bren! and a wonderful location too.
-
People who call themselves members of the helping profession are some of the most lacking in empathy. (Rant of the day).
Bren, nice to see you look so happy.
-
Sorry. As for the rest, never mind. I think I found the convo that upset you. -
Now folks are being accused of "pushing their soy eating habits on people." What's next?
-
Seriously? Wow, that person sounds very defensive and/or in desperate need of a hobby. Besides their hobby of poking at people here, I mean.
-
(((((((((Athena))))))))) - I don't think she meant to upset you personally, she really is a nice lady (from our private conversations). Some of the posts I read on the alternative threads are definitely coming from some weird place.
We love you girl!!!

OMG - I'm a grandmother for the second time - 1 month early - just got a call from our daughter. It's a BOY!! They haven't even weighed him yet. I could hear him crying in the back ground. It's so funny because she called me last night asking about losing the 'plug' and the book she has, said it could still be a month before the birth - well it was 1 day. She sounded good but tired and it sounds like she coped with her first labour better than I did
Unfortunately we aren't going down there until 18th June, so we will have to rely on photos in the mean time. -
Morning Everyone!
Congratulations Susie! A brand new baby ... what fun!
Athena ... I "heart" you.
Well ... I'm off for the NC outer banks for the weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
hugs,
Bren
-
Have a lovely trip Bren - I'm jealous. We do have a long weekend here though, so plenty of time to relax. Wish we could see the baby right now, but it's a 3 hour flight away.
-
Congrats Susie! It is funny by the way. Until very recently I was desperately afraid that my daughter would get herself knocked up. Post cancer I am way more relaxed about the whole thing and sort of thinkng that grand kids would be nice, even if they came at an inoportune time.
-
Athena - I didn't read the original OP in the thread you are referring to. I took it a totally different way but then again it was midnight and I was tired and who knows what I was thinking.
For me it came across as "some people are mental - ignore - send them for help - don't engage them"
Hope I didn't step on any toes.
So today I am dropping off DH at the airport so he can catch a plane to Houston for the weekend. Me - heading right to the dentist to get a consultation on bone grafting an area in my mouth to get ready for an implant. Geez...this is going to kill me! Then off to the barn to ride Jazzy since DH is out of town and I don't have to worry about cooking dinner, etc.
DH got back last night from being gone for 6 days - back overnight - gone again until Sunday night - out of town on Monday for 5 days. Really wish this stuff could be spaced out a little bit better.
-
Just popping in to check on everybody and wave 'hello'.
Both dogs are going to the vet for their check-ups today ... much $$$ will be spent in a very short amount of time
Good thing they are cute and so nice to have around.Bren ... loved the picture! You and your mom are both looking good!
Athena ... I saw that post too. Have to admit that I read it as 'just take into account that some folks might have other problems too ... and sometimes it's best to not overreact to everything that is said.' Hard to tell intent sometimes with the written word only to go by. Looked like you guys were talking it out though and that's not all bad. It's hot and muggy here ... hope your weather is a little better. Are you considering making a move away from DC to a cooler climate if a job should appear that would make that possible?
Sending another (((hug))) to Rosemary
And congratulations to Grandma Susie!
Final thought ... disagreement is not 'crabby' ... it's just disagreement. The world would be boring (and we would have to seriously wonder WTH was going on) if we all agreed with each other all the time IMHO.
-
I just found out my friend has been taken off life support.
. -
I am sorry rosemary-b. My thoughts are with you.
-
Rosemary - that is so sad (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
Momine - I told my kids they had to wait until I turned 60 to have children. Well here I am (almost 60) and I've got 2 grandchildren - I wasn't happy. She is 33, so it was past time for her to have one.
Can't show any pics yet - have to wait for SIL to send some. Tempting to jump on a plane I must say.
-
Rosemary, I am so very sorry.
Susie, I don't care on account of my age, but more for the sake of my daughter. But she is so headstrong that I think she can plow through almost any difficulty. That said, I would still like her to wait a bit. -
I had my first at 27 - I think that's a good age to wait for. Is she married yet?
-
((((((((((Rosemary)))))))))
I'm so sorry this is happening to your friend.

-
Rosemary - so, so sorry. I hope it is very peaceful painless fr your friend.
Susie -congratulations, Grandma Again. So lovely, hope all is well.
-
Thanks Sun - It was quite exciting hearing him crying in the background. I still don't know what he weighed - maybe we'll find out today.
-
Well my friend passed away a little while ago. She was 59.
-
rosemary I am so sorry about your friend. gentle (((hugs)))
susie, congratulations on the new grandchild.
life and death in one sweep today
-
Oh, Rosemary, I am so sorry.
