My friend does have pneumonia but was put in a coma to save her other organs. She was very very sick.I know she will be so sad when she wakes up but I don't think there is any way  the mold can be remediated. As for the cats, I wish the family would find her a place that would let her have a cat or two but the first thing her niece did when she went back in the hospital was call animal control. I am sad but I am not family. It will be a long time before she can take care of herself, let alone a cat, so maybe it is for the best. All I am doing is praying, for now.

I am so jealous of all of you that are green thumbs.  Today I "attempted" to get the weeds out of my front flower bed but there is an ant mound and believe me that mound is huge.  So when I disturbed the weeds, the ants came out in full force.  I got 5 weeds pulled and ran away as fast as possible!

I am shaking my head reading you know what.  Almost like a teenager "I have a secret and I am not telling you - neaner neaner neaner or however you spell it but you get the gist of how I feel.

Yesterday it was so darn cold we about put our heater back on.  Today we put on the A/C.  Utah doesn't know if it is still winter or summer yet.

Went out to the barn and rode my horse and someone we were just both "on" and it was a wonderful ride!  I just LOVE my horsey!!  DH is going out of town tomorrow afternoon and will be gone on Monday so I will be heading back up there.

Hope ya'll are having a wonderful weekend!  Keep on gardening - I will just live it through ya'll.

Oh, Bren, the color of those zinnias - just so beautiful.  Our growing season is so short, I have to buy little plants - even then, I don't think I could come NEAR the color you've got.  Just fabulous...

I looked at your gazebo again, Bren. So lovely. I can imagine summer evenings with apple juice or wine.

Sunny and cool here today. Too nice to be stuck inside, but it's day 2 of my Pilates certification course. I'm still fried from yesterday--so much to think about and put into practice. It's going to be an intense year.

All I can think about right now is posture!! Back off from the computers and sitting so much, friends!!

Good advice, Anne. Been busy killing off dust bunnies today, I'm afraid. Vaccuming, sweeping, polishing my silver, cleaning the glass on the photograph frames, even organizing my tax forms. Have no idea how I became so industrious all of a sudden!

    Happy Sunday Everyone!

I've been busy today.  Had to run lots of errands and get some wash done.  The weather is lovely today .. the sun finally came out.  The dogs enjoyed their hike much more than I did today.

Athena .. You sure are busy!  Good for you.

Anne .. I tried Pilates once .. that was all I could do.  My hats off to you!

Janice ... I love to hear about your riding and how much joy you're getting from it.  Can't wait until Scoot gets her horse and we can hear about her riding too.

I'm procrastinating on cleaning.  I think I'll wait until the last minute before Tim gets home tonight.

I pick my mom up in Winston on Tuesday and I've got a busy week planned for us.  Then we leave for Emerald Isle, NC, with my sis on Friday for the weekend.  Sure hope it warms up by then.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day.

    Bren

    Scootalo,

I saw that earlier today on yahoo. It is really scary. I sure hope it's not true.

BinVa you sound really busy. Hope you enjoy your time with your sis and family  this weekend. I haven't seen my brothers since dad died, so can understand wanting the time with family.

Facts is survived by two brothers, Rumor and Innuendo, and a sister, Emphatic Assertion.

I want these nutjobs "raptured" sooner rather than later. I'm putting on my heavy duty kneepads that the Mayans are right and these wackjobs are gone at the end of the  year. Actually I hope they all bite the dust at Obama's re-election in November. Back to praying.

Ask Kyl about all the children he and the rest of AZ legislators care about, ask him about the "good" CPS does.  The whole of AZ is nuts.--------kad2kar

You know, if "they" just prefaced everything with "These are not intended to be factual statements," maybe my head wouldn't explode every time they open their mouths.

Cherry, I suspect they will explode in a cloud of charred dust particles when Obama is re-elected.  You know, like the fact vampires they are.

Edited to add:  GOOD MORNING, everyone!

    Good night, Susiekins!

I just found out that Princess Margaret Hospital in Ontario has an Oligometastatic Group that specializes in treating limited mets.  What a fantastic idea!  Does anyone know of a similar group in the US?

But then, it must be a bad idea since Canada has single payer and single payer is BAD.  *slow, counter-clockwise eye roll with a hair flip*

"fact vampires" - I always learn somethiing wonderful from Scoot...

CherrylH - I have a foam pad for kneeling in the garden - will that do...seriously, I think these folks are so dangerous... and what frightens me, is the number of people who read this stuff and agree with them - and then Faux News picks it up, and it becomes "fact" - kinda like years ago when a certain VP of the USA said that a certain country in the Middle East had "nuklur" weapons, and these dung heads were actually talking about "mushroom clouds" on national media....boy, the USA Supreme COurt has a LOT to answer for when the Mayan stuff becomes "true"... rant over...

    Good Morning!

We're going to be busy today ... lots of runnin' and gunnin'.  Tim is outside now cursing a blue streak at a headlight that will not come out of the car.  The dogs and I are hiding in the house!

Scoot .. love the 'hair flip' this morning!

Gotta run .. the cursing has stopped and the lightbulb had been freed.

    Have a great day!

Scoot -- It's amazing what can be achieved by non-profit healthcare!  Here are some firsts from Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital (considered one of the top 5 cancer centres in the world, BTW):

Many medical firsts at Princess Margaret Hospital have enhanced our international reputation as a leader in the fight against cancer.

Did you know…PMH is one of the largest bone marrow transplant facilities in the world.PMH researchers Drs. Ernest McCulloch and James Till first identified the stem cell, a discovery that formed the basis of all current stem cell research.PMH's Dr. Vera Peters first advocated the combination of radiation treatment and breast conserving surgery for women with early stage breast cancer.First research to determine that Hodgkin's disease can be cured by radiation therapy was at PMH, boosting the cure rate to 75% from 25%.The invention of the Cobalt machine, the root technology for many radiation therapy machines still in-use today, was developed by PMH's Dr. Harold Johns. The design and development of The Hemitron, a machine used to deliver full and half-body radiation was created at PMH.The world's first ultrasound device capable of producing images of the human eye at microscopic resolution was developed at PMH.PMH ranks among the top centres internationally for bone marrow transplants, and has some of the longest surviving bone marrow transplant recipients world-wide.PMH’s bone marrow transplant unit, established in 1971, was the first in Canada to perform allogeneic transplants – transplants between unrelated donors. For the first time in Canada, PMH doctors used a robot arm (robotic laparoscopic technology) to perform prostate surgery.PMH is the first hospital to use digital mammography – an x-ray machine that takes a digital image of the breast – enabling earlier diagnosis of breast cancer with less radiation exposure.PMH researchers discovered the T-cell receptor, described as the “holy grail” of immunology.PTEN gene, whose mutation is linked to several cancers including brain, ovarian, breast, prostate, thyroid and skin, was discovered by PMH researchers.PMH staff developed an innovative way to determine whether a given cancer treatment works within hours of the first treatment, leaving critical time to adjust for improved results.PMH researchers used toxin to rid bone marrow of cancer cells – leading future research into improved treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma and breast cancer.A molecule that regulates movement of white blood cells was discovered in a PMH lab.PMH researchers discovered that inflammation can trigger the body’s T-cell in crippling bone and cartilage deterioration – characteristic of arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.PMH’s Patient Education CD-ROM series – recognized across North America for translating complex medical info into layman’s terms - for patients, families and physicians.Cellular fuel that powers the growth of Hodgkin’s disease was unraveled by PMH researchers.PMH is a world leader in imaging and radiation therapy that enables more precise and targeted radiation to be applied to tumours.PMH discovered the CD45 gene – the off switch for several disease signals including cancer, heart disease and auto-immune diseases.

Oh surely that is all fiction from you evil Canadians.  A loud talking head told me about a youtube that proves you all are treated only with the most primitive methods and usually are just left to die in a hallway somewhere.  How dare you disagree with a youtube??!   Tongue out

Back in my childhood making up my own 'untrue facts' was called 'lies' and got me in major trouble.  Now people get paid to do it ... the louder and more untrue, the more they get paid.  No wonder our society is declining.

Happy Monday ... hope everybody is getting their week off to a good start!

....which means that junior's (horseback) ride from Kentucky to Washington should have taken days....(not holding breath). Commie Amtrak and Commie feds at the airports shouldn't interrupt a good FEDERAL EMPLOYEE on horseback!

Oh, I'd better stop....don't want to start having too much fun....
