Hello!  I am posting this in a couple of sections.  I was wondering if anyone is able to recommend a good plastic surgeon in the Pittsburgh, PA area who will do a DEIP reconstruction.  I am close to my two year mark and would like to start thinking about getting a new breast (maybe, still not sure).  Thanks!

Hi! My sister had Dr. Gimble (sp) from UPMC . He came very highly recommended from Dr. Ronald Johnson at MaGee's. My sister had a BMX at age 37. She really liked him alot. Dr. Johnson told her that if she was his wife, that's who he would choose. A co-worker of mine had a doctor at St. Clair Hospital and was thrilled with her results as well. I believe she had the flap procedure. If you'd like me to find out her doctor's name, PM me.

My breast surgeon is Dr. McGuire from the same office at Magee as Dr. Johnson.  She referred me to Dr. DeLaCruz for my reconstruction.  My surgery is not until May 11, so I can't comment too thoroughly, but I've been happy with Dr. McGuire. I was not a candidate for DEIP, but they do it in that office.  You can find their info on the Magee page under the Breast Cancer Program (left side of page under Specialty Services), then Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons toward the bottom of the page in the "Our Experts" link (I can't get a link to post).  Dr. Gimble is in the same office as Dr. DeLaCruz.

Can't say enough about James O'Toole, M.D.   Plastic surgeon in Shadyside.  Did direct to implant with him at AGH.  He also does TEs, but his specialty is direct to implant.  He's awesome.  His work is amazing.

I am scheduled for a BMX on Wednesday with Paniti Sukumvanich, MD.  He's in the same practice as Ron Johnson and Kelly, 2 other highly recommended surgeons in the office.  My PS is Vu Nguyen, MD, and I've heard lots of good things sbout him.  He also was a resident at the VA, where I work in Oakland. He still has clinical privileges there.  Both are UPMC MDs. I'm SCARED anyway.  LOL
