Elise - no, but Phillip, oh my, so good!!!!!!!!!!!! Teka, have you swooned?
-
Lol Sheila!
Yep, been taking good care of 'the boys'..... Although, I think I am sensing a custody battle coming up..lol! -
Seaside, just liberal visitation rights! If he keeps going like tonight, he may be the next AI, Skylar is in the running too.
-
PP has my vote tonight.
OOH thank you God finally Jennifer talked the truth about Jessica. i feel better now.
-
Sheila, I agree the judges are finally getting what it is with Jessica, and Skylar sings the first sentence and you are "at a party".
-
Joshua looked good on the second song..........
He is a good looking guy if he just stops screaming like many of them........
-
So just one going tomorrow? I like Hollie, but she is still not strong - she has trouble keeping her notes all the way thru....I do not think she's top 3 ... so she has to go.
-
Joshua did look good on the second song, it was the perfect song for his gospel roots, except the end, which was screaming. I'm not going to guess the bottom three, Elise for sure, Jessica and then I don't know. See you all tomorrow. I love watching with all of you.
-
Joan...It was so nice to watch the the show together.
how is your friend doing?
PM me please.
♥
-
Yes Karen...I love it too. It gives the show more meaning at least I'm not talking to myself LOL
-
Really lived Skylars 2nd song too. She is just so good and I liked Elise also. Colton had some diff with 2nd one PP was just ok for me. Didn't like either of Jessicas or Joshuas tonight. JMO
-
There was definitely good and not so good tonight but I think it could be anyone tomorrow! Time will tell! See you all tomorrow.....
-
OK.....Getting ready for Survivor and some popcorn.
Good Night all ♥
Will be an interesting night tomorrow.
-
Mimi,
I have to agree...Skylar is a natural - sure to be successful...and at this point, Jessica and Joshua have shown their ability to be unique/different. Now they should be trying to appeal to everyone by doing familiar things and blowing them out of the building. But they aren't doing that.
Seaside - agreed - it could be anyone. No strong favorites talent-wise.
Have a good nite all....I'll miss the results :-( - only 3 more weeks of night classes!
Joan -
Just started here in Cali, but DH and I have it on DVR so we can FF through the commercials.
Later, Ladies!

AMERICAN IDOL RECAP - 4/18/12
Tonight's theme: Now and Then - Music from 2000, and Music from Soul Train EraROUND ONE - SONGS FROM 2000
HOLLIE/"Rollin' In The Deep" - Adele
For the first time, her stage presence looked mature. She had the right look, the right gestures, and finally came out of her shell.
COLTON/"Bad Romance" - Lady GagaHated his outfit - looked like a raggedy pirate. At least it wasn't a dress made out of meat. Kind of weak in the low registers; I kind of liked the "Glee" version better.
ELISE/"No One" - Alicia KeyesCue the blowers for Big Orange! (Not fond of that dress and the blowing fans...) Sang well, JLo said she got goosies. Told her to smile more! Come alive! Later, Elise commented to Ryan that she found out that her dog is sick and might not make it. Started to tear up and stopped talking. JLo later told her that vulnerability is what makes audiences connect with you.
PHILLIP/"You Got It Bad" - Usher
He reminds me SO much of Casey Abrams from Season 10! I really liked him even more tonight. Randy said he was a "True Artist on stage!"
JESSICA/"Falling" - Alicia KeyesMaybe she learned something from her save. The judges sure are building her up! I did like her song choice and performance tonight, and - maybe I'm searching for it - her personality!
SKYLAR/"Born This Way - Country Version" - Lady Gaga"Country Version?" "Lady Gaga?" Who knew! She always sounds the same, no matter what she sings, but I can't believe her confidence on stage - that of someone 30 years older!
JOSHUA/"Believe" - FantasiaJimmy was right when he said Joshua was like a deer in the headlights. I think being in the Bottom 3 really shook his confidence, and it shows in his personality. He was pitchy during the song, the choir backup was great (familiar), and he got a standing O from the judges. Really?
ROUND TWO - SOUL TRAIN ERA
HOLLIE/"Son of a Preacher Man"I always associated this song with more of a country flavor, not soul. Parts of it showed her really straining her voice. When Ryan asked her later what was different this week, she said she had looked back at previous performances, and her face was flat. Ah, yes.
COLTON/"September" - Earth, Wind, and FireMain lyrics - eew. Chorus: great. Just a bad song choice for him.
ELISE/"Let's Get It On" - Marvin Gaye
Interesting "soul" song with a chamber string orchestra in the background. I'm not fond of women who growl, except for maybe Janis Joplin. Elise always looks kind of nervous, and I guess who wouldn't be if it were apparent that no one in America was voting for you? At least JLo took the time to talk to her about emotions and vulnerability and how "America doesn't connect to you." THEN - she tries to argue with the judges and gets another big honkin' critique, which she follows up with a whiny excuse about how she can't do this or that because she doesn't have six minutes on her stage to get to the important parts.....can you say "Buh-BYE!"????
PHILIP/"In The Midnight Hour" -Wilson Pickett
Again, another good performance, making me like him even more. JLo wants to get up there and do that little leg step with him. Steven calls him "brilliantly awkward"....
JESSICA/"Try A Little Tenderness" - Otis ReddingOoookay....strange outfit! And I would love to see how she could move on stage without those ridiculous high heels....Really sounds like the judges are grooming her to be the AI!!!!!
SKYLAR/ "Heard It Through The Grapevine"
Was that a spray tan? Or really dark pantyhose? Did her thing, fun performance, kind of expected to see the Dancing Raisins (it's a Cali thing....) Steven: "You're like a wild horse that refuses to be tamed."
JOSHUA/"Change Is Gonna Come" - Sam Cook I really like this song, and thought Joshua did a good job with it. But as soon as he stops singing, he just looks lost. (Am I gonna lose? Will anyone vote for me?) Loved the way Steven gave his comments, then leaned on his elbow, which completely slipped off the desk....I just always notice these things....~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O.K.! I made a mistake! Only ONE person is leaving tomorrow night!!!! We thought it was two.
And JLo's dress - VERY sexy! First thing I noticed were her abs. Awesome! Then I kept staring at her boobs...thinking "What does this remind me of?"
Finally, I remembered.
STERI-STRIPS!!!!!!
-
@ sheila888 I agree, SKYLAR screamed too much...enough to irritates my ears lol.....but OH MY...PP is so cute.....almost like seducing every girls......
@ Blessings, its obvious the judges are grooming JESSICA to be AI, because thats how good she is....her voice is powerful and amazing....I am not just getting it that people keep pointing at her personality...I don't see anything wrong with her personality......or maybe because she is ASIAN? lolz....oh well.....we all have our own opinion......but as long PP wins it or Jessica.....i'll be happy.... :-)
-
sweetangel - I don't think there's anything "wrong" with Jessica's personality, nor do I think it's because she's Asian....
I think we all want to believe our "celebrities" belong to us, so we think have the right to know who they are, inside and out. We want to know their thoughts, their emotions, who they are when they're not performing, etc.
Jessica is 1) young, and 2) possibly just very shy. But compare her ease in talking about herself to someone like Skylar, who is an open book, and you see the difference.
There's no denying that Jessica has probably the best voice in the competition. But the voters are looking for the whole package, including personality.
You just may be VERY happy with the outcome!!! I think PP or Jessica just may win!!!!
-
I think Jessica is quite immature and yet probably has been raised to be the center of attention because of her talent so is perceived to have somewhat of an aloof attitude because of that. The mere fact the she has given herself an "alter ego" when she performs speaks to both of those things.
I want to see PP, Skylar, Colton top 3. All the others can go in any order
I do have issue with how much they push certain people and the show seems much more scripted than it did when it orgininally started. The criticism they give is often not valid or doesn't even make sense some days. But yet, I still watch
I liked the fact that Elise argued with Jennifer last night - I know it will probably hurt her with the viewing public but some of the things Jennifer was saying weren't making sense and she called her on it.
-
kltb...i agree with you
You made me laugh when you said ..."All the others can go in any order"

53 millions vote
-
KTB I agree with you
-
(((Renee)))
I love Skylar's hairdo it's so appropriate for a young girl
-
Hi ladies! Oh dear.....Elise seems a bit defensive. Doesn't bode well for her.
-
Yes rosasmommy.....she doesn't take critisizm very well.
-
I did notice JLo shaking her head in agreement with Elise though. I do think they are a little hard on her. I like her music. I don't think she appeals to the AI audience which is young girls and guys. Somehow she is left out in the rain.
-
Is she the oldest?
-
She's definitely one of the oldest -- in her mid-twenties, maybe? Compared to munchkins like Holly and Jessica, she practically ancient!
