You guys are funny this morning!  What a way to start the day.

The plumber has been here and gone ... and we're waiting on hot water for showers.  Then lots of errands to run and things to do today.

I read Anne's post in the chemo forum and I didn't see anything wrong with it.  Finally, someone stood up to the usual bull shit and spoke the truth.

I need to get my butt in gear (and no thanks on the enema) and get moving.

Hope everyone has a great day,

    Bren

Sewing, I love the guy in the kilt, and the Swedish accent is perfect.

The guy in the quilt was my favorite too.  Wish I had one of those hats when I was going thru chemo =;0)

Bwa! And I am Danish, so it would really have been the cat's miuaw if I had shown up for chemo with a viking helmet. As it were I had a blue straw hat with a huge brim that my onc pronounced "divine!"

For your almost-5pm-Eastern-time entertainment, I came across some funny images of thread hijacking.... here goes:

(Not had such an unproductive day in many, many months....Tongue out)

As I say elsewhere, Entebe looks tame by comparison.

Just got home from running errands.  Probably should just stay here where it's safe and not go looking anywhere else huh.

Not sure if I would have taken the picture as head shaking or a give me patience look Athena.

Momine ... I'm of Danish descent also.  Somewhere a few hundred pages back we had quite a discussion about ebelskivers and kringle and other such wonderful things.  Haven't watched the youtube yet ... I'm supposed to be feeding the dogs and cooking dinner but had to sneak in for peek here first.

BinVa Thanks for the advice. Will be checking into them.

Day 2 of FCAT. I'm tired of it already. The kids are stressed, the teachers are stressed, and the parents are stressed. Makes no sense to me why we use 1 test to determine if our kids have learned enough to move on to the next grade, let alone if we are good teachers.

I'm done I'll get off my soapbox!

I hear you loud and clear kira. We have the MSP here, starting 1st week of May and everyone is stressed already. I just don't see how it makes sense to tie teacher pay to these tests.

I am so proud of my SIL. He was in the top 450 of the Boston Marathon. His time was under 3 hours. I am not being more exact for privacy reasons but he did really well!

    Hi Everyone!

Cold and rainy today .. perfect weather for our Athena.  Supposed to be like this all week.  arghh.  I like the 80 degree temps better.

Well .. we got the water heater installed and Tim just adjusted the temp on the water.  It wasn't getting hot enough.  Also, the water pressure was down a bit.

Athena .. Threads get hijacked all the time .. just the nature of the forum I think.

Zuvart ... Welcome!  Hope you stick around and visit with us.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

    Bren

So all I did on my day off were some dishes and laundry and play on the computer. I had an awful headache yesterday. It started out as a sinus headache and then became a migraine. I tok a two hour nap and felt better. Then I went to visit a friend in the hospital. She just found out she will lose her job in June and now has pneumonia. I feel so sorry for her.

It's been a strange, tragic week.  We had a fire in our community yesterday and three or four houses were lost and the families homeless.  One of my best friends and former co-workers called today to tell me he'd been fired...after working in the same place for 12 years.  The Boss has lost her marbles, I fear.

Speaking of marbles and fires, where's PatMom?  I haven't seen her for a few pages and the thread feels strangely empty without her.

It is, Rosemary.  Thankfully the Red Cross immediately showed up and found temporary lodging for the families.  One of the HOA board members walked down to visit and found their immediate neighbors rallying around them, the insurance adjusters on the scene, and a construction crew on-site to board up the houses.  I'm proud of my community for that.

We anticipate that the displaced families will need clothing and household supplies until the insurance checks come through, and we're gearing up for that eventuality.

Scoot - I hope they are insured. This is just awful - poor people - you have a wonderful community to help like that.

I'm Baaaaack!  Been MIA since Page 741.

but.....my head was spinning yesterday or was it the day before??  It reminded me of how much I missed my buddies here.

Athena - love the signs!  Especially the green one with the thread topic going sideways.

I need to start hanging out here again for my own sanity.  Ya'll need to give me sometime to catch up with everyone here and what has been going on lately.

No rush, lioness, I was just ( still) always confuzzled...

missing our Blue...really hope she is doing EXACTLY waht she wants to be doing, and loving it.  SO hard to think of dealing with 2 diseases..

Cooling down a bit out here in the woods, strange days, ALL the native growth is about a month early - and SO DRY farmers are losing top soil just tilling fields - like being in a dust storm.

    Hi Everyone!

Damp and chilly today ... a nice cool day for Athena!  Been busy cleaning, mopping, sweeping and laundry.  Not my idea of fun!  It stopped raining long enough to walk Tank, so I better get to it.

Scoot ... So sorry to hear about your neighbors.  A fire is so scary ... I can't imagine losing everything.

Rosemary ... Hope your headache is better today.  I've had those allergy headaches turn into migraines .. and it's not any fun.

Jancie ... Great to see you back.  So glad you and Scoot are enjoying the horsie thread.

    hugs to all,

    Bren

PS ... I need to call Blue.  I miss her so much.
