Bren - I was thinking of you when I wrote that - it must be hard.

Speaking of water heaters-when the plumber came to give us our estimate for our sewer issue, he asked me, "Do you realize your water heater is almost 20 years old?" I'm sure that will go next.......Sewer isn't fixed yet, but we're getting it scheduled. At least I can do my laundry, and we have another bathroom...

Happy ... the hot water heater we're getting is a Whirlpool Electric. Everything is electric here ... no gas. I don't think we need a permit. I'm going to be buried out back. There is no way I could ever get another home loan for self-employed people, so this is my last house.
Good thing I like it here! It's a tiny cottage house with two bedrooms and one bath. I do have a laundry room, which is nice. Hopefully, I can get a shower and do some wash tomorrow sometime.
Mr. ADD should be home soon .. then we're off to Lowes.
Susie .. Great idea about the solar panels. Just can't afford the start up costs.
hugs,
Bren

BinVa, I hear you about being self employed. Since DH became self employed we can't get a lone for anything. We tried to lower our interest rate on our home lone, but were told we didn't make enough. What a crock we have never missed a payment nor been late.
-
The word "heater" is definitely apropos of today's weather. Will keep Scoot's advice and stay under a tree. Had to get out briefly to roar at hyenas twice (one in the form of an idiotic study). Hopefully tomorrow is a lighter day.
-
Well, it's one of those funny days in April when the temp rises to over 80 degrees, and will drop overnight to the low 40s. I opened the windows this morning and then realized I was letting in hot air!
Lots of hyenas around to roar at, Athena

Yes, indeed, Lindasa!
-
Oh, that thread again! Fancy anyone who has the terrible misfortune of going through sexual abuse being told it is associated with BC. My heart goes out to anyone who read that and went through that and also got BC.
-
Solar hot water is only good if you have lots of sun year round like we do - if there's not enough sun, the electricity heats it.
I want Solar power - now that IS really expensive startup even with rebates which they are cutting soon.
-
Too many rainbows and ponies about.
-
Who's hungry for brussel sprouts?
-
Cheeky Susie
-
I can't believe some of the stuff I am reading. It is mind-boggling. I agree that there are waaaaay to many ponies riding around.
On another note, this problem with water heaters has got to stop! Why is this happening to so many of you. Is is a conspiracy? It used to be water heaters lasted forever, and I was recently told they now last about 10 years!
Athena, sending you big hugs and hoping for some cool air to come your way.
-
Do you really think rainbows and ponies are back? I must say the holier-than-thou lecturing tone sounds very familiar.

Kira ... check with Bank of America about the HARP loan program. I was denied last year when I tried to refi. But with this new program I qualified .. and my income sucks. It's worth a try!
hugs,
Bren
PS .. Going out on a limb here .. I don't think the alternative forum belongs on BCO. Just too much bad information being put out there for scared newbies to read.

A big scratch under the chin for the lioness.
I am just amazed and appalled by some of what I have read lately.
-
Just saw on facebook that Coolbreeze got banned for calling an altie a liar. Doesn't seem quite right.
Mary
-
Thank you Rosemary. That scratch feels good. Any other takers, we lionesses are gluttons for affection....
-
Athena - I'm scratching your tummy

-
Coolbreeze has been through so much and always tells it like it is. Banning her is so wrong.
-
I think it was just them reporting her post that kicked in the automatic computer banning thing. Hopefully the mods will correct the situation.
-
I think some people may need enemas.
-
Scoot, I widh there were a "like" button here!!!!!
-
Enemas have been on my mind a lot lately. Maybe that's my problem - I'm applying them to the wrong end.
-
Scoot - LOL - you funny girl
-
Sorry Scoot~
I was just thinking about a guinea pig getting an enema...

Tiniest enema EVER!
Cherryl - ;-)
Good morning, all! Today is water heater day! O, the joy!
-
Beats cold showers ... and we don't even want to think about cold enemas.
-
Guinea pig enemas gave me a good laugh to start the day! Thanks for the visual!
