My heart and prayers are with you Joni.

Update: Mom had a relatively good day yesterday. She was up by 9AM, couldn't walk by herself, but didn't have to be "danced", she wanted to take care of some banking business & go by the mortuary to be sure everything she paid for years ago was in place. We got it all done & she wanted to go out for frozen yogurt. I am anxious about how today will be....I hope she didn't overdo, but it was so wonderful for her to be even a portion of her normal self! God is good.

Joni and Mum - heart is out to you. Hang in there. I know, Joni, you are enjoying each day each hour with your mom. Some of the best gifts my mother gave me in her last days were the looks, the smiles, the calling me her baby. She couldn't talk due to the throat cancer and tube, but she was so lovely at the end. Just remembering her.
I am low energy, tired, need to pack this house and get moved asap so I can begin to recover. Nodes are sore, swollen glands from smoke and fumes again, back area at kidney impossible pain, headache, LE in right arm. And have to pack us. Please send requests in your ways that we will get through and into fresh air fulltime. So I canheal and have peace.
Universe, Creator of Life, you want me there, you want Hubby there. I am trusting now for the means, the energy, the endurance, the strength, the surprise, the hope, for it to happen in your way. I will begin the footwork, and if I have to do every bit, I will, or you can surprise me (not that I won't be surprised if I can manage to do all the packing and moving LOL) but you can surprise me anytime with the way to get us there. And so.... it is given, it is given, it is given .... whatever it is to be, for my highest and best good. Thank you!
Edited to say, the bird is so sweet Mum, I love birds, they are one of the bestest gifts ever.

Adding that I opened my email, content on one message for the night and found one from a man I met who is into holistic too, he lives in FL. He said he haas been told
"There is beauty in the small."
This brought me too seek out just one inspirational quote and I found these three together.
"As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness."
--Henry David Thoreau"Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough."
--Author Unknown"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life."
--John BurroughsAnd so I seek out the one box of belongings that are simple, beautiful to me, touch my heart, remind me of the thrills of nature. What I would consider my rewards of a simple life.

Mom has opted to do brain rads for 2 weeks. She was placed on a steroid Thurs night that has made an appreciable difference for the good in her functioning. We are hoping that the rads will reduce the tumors & possibly give her QOL for a bit longer.
-
(((((Joni & Sandy))))
So sorry to hear the news. May you lean on Him at this time of struggle.
-
Greetings, sweet ladies. I am limiting my time here at bco so I don't always get down to your garden. Eph...I have a friend who has brain cancer. She was going down really fast. She gained a 100 pounds on steriods, and doing rads, chemo and the works. Since the doctor gave her but months to live, I suggested she go alternative and do things she dreamed of doing like traveling. Since she didn't think she had long to live she did as I said. It's been almost 2 yrs since I shared that with her. Her tumor for the last year and a half has shrunk and is in remission. She is on alternative only and doing fantastic. I also believe God hand was in it all ... she is a Christian.
We have another friend who has brain cancer who did alternative for several years, then went to conventional adding chemo and rads. He is still alive and seems to be slowly getting better.
I suppose depending on the type of brain cancer, you can live for sometime with some kind of treatment. Hopefully, your mom will to. Prayers for her for sure.
I share this with you as encouragment.
-
Thanks Evebarry, We haven't been told anything re: length of life except that without any treatment she has just weeks. With the rads it's supposed to reduce inflammation & the size of the tumors in her brain & if she survives the treatment then her QOL is supposed to be better.
Went to my old church today & felt such love. My DD & I had switched to one of the local big churches because she was very involved in the youth group, but this year she hasn't been attending group very much because most of her buddies graduated last year. I asked her today if since she's not going to youth group so much can we switch back & she was all for it. So that has lightened my heart today.
Thank you for your prayers. I covet them.
-
Oh, that is so sweet that your DD would change back with you. So glad you heart is a bit lighter today.
-
praying for you, and your mum, eph.. God is good.. im glad you're all retuning to your old church.. LOVE, His love, is what you all need, and its' aplenty...3jays

Joni praying for you and your mum. 🌺🌷💜

Mom has completed week 1 for whole brain radiation & seems to be doing pretty good. She's very weak & fatigued but she is much more cognitively alert on the steroids than she was before. Her birthday is the 25th & honestly before the 12th, I didn't think she was going to last that long. She's in a better position to be with us a bit longer now.
My sister has talked with 6 Flags in Vallejo about completing a big item on my mom's bucket list & it has been arranged ---on the 29th we will be there & she will get to ride an elephant. We will drive as far as Sacramento on the 28th-go to the park on the 29th & come home the 30th. Please pray that the light bit of strength Mom has stays with her so she can complete this!!
-
So glad your mother is responding. I wish you were coming this direction under different circumstances. Your mom and your family will contine to be in my prayers.
-
I appreciate your prayers. With the herceptin infusions I am so weak. My strength has been zapped. My EF dropped 15 points after only the second infusion. I had the third a few weeks back and I am so breathless. Before treatment I was known as the energerzer bunny. After the forth treatment I'll have another (3rd) echocadiogramn. If it drops more my oncologist will take me off of it.
I am the breadwinner of my family. I have a whole school depending on me. I need strength. God is my strength...
-
evebarry, God will give you the rest you need & the energy required. Keep in mind, it might not be what you calculate you need (I have to keep that forefront in my brain!!!)
I don't know how people survive without belief in God.
-
im with you, eph, it wasn't for my faith, which waivers with "stinking thinking" more than i'd like, id never make it thru...
i really pray for your mother to get that elephant ride.. my prayers are with you all......3jays

Monday I am scheduled for my 4th Herceptin infusion. Due to side effects I' want to stop taking it...just need wisdom to quit before the 4th or afterwards. I appreciate your prayers as I'm not sure what to do. It's my heart that is effected so pray for healing for my heart. Thanks
