Thanks again everyone! XO
I'll try to not panic, and not be in denial (although, those are my 2 primary states of being;-)
I went to the nice new primary doc and she "prescribed" lot of natural stuff- probiotics, greens and vitamins (she sells on the side), no animal products or dairy (tough one for me), and juicing. She said the China Study would explain no animal products and Gershong's theory would explain curing cancer with nutrition. She also said no cannabis! She never heard of it curing cancer in her alternative doctor info.
Then she told me a story about her father-in-law who had deadly lung cancer that metasthasized, and all kinds of health problems, arthritis, etc., and he cut out all animal products and dairy and took her supplements and got very healthy for a month before chemo and radiation (it went into his brain) and stayed well for 5 years being healthy, but then he decided he could eat whatever he wanted (she mentioned he ate hot dogs- yum) and he died shortly after. (lol)
Sorry but that's kinda funny. I can't imagine never eating all the good stuff ever again. She did also mention laughing was good therapy! And reducing stress.
I was very sick, physcally broken down and in the hospital when I felt the lump on my breast December 12th. I was beyond stress. I had stressed for a whole year before that, feeling very sick and not getting any help from doctors. It's a long story, but my colon was dying and if someone would have ordered a colonoscopy it may have been saved, but I got the run around and treated like it was all in my head, I had a "low pain tolerance" or I was a "drug seeker". I went to 2 ERs before I got the colonoscopy and they saw 18 inches was dead, cut it out and gave me a poop bag.
Now the cancer's postponing me from getting my colon reconnected, and I don't want to go to work with a poop bag. It poops and farts whenever it feel like it, and can be very funny- or very embarrassing.
I ordered some books, supplements and I'm seriously thinking of joining the gym to get in their infared sauna and pool. I have some belly fat that needs to go (estrogen).
Thanks for the directions Maude. I'll try that soon. I'm overwhelmed with stuff I want to do, including nothing.
Gentle hugs to everyone. (I learned that here and it's nice)

Has anyone read Suzanne Somer's book "Knockout"?
This is incredible!

How else -beside a $1,000. sauna can you raise your body temp to detox?
~~
Go to your nearest ND or compounding pharmacy and ask for DIM in cream to be made up. You rub it in and you absorb it through the skin. No Soy. (I use a DIM-Chyrsin formula my Chinese guy orders up for me.)
~~
Not, hold onto your hat (and your boots and your bootie). This is the most terrifying part. And I hate your diagnosis too. BUT: I have been devouring Suzanne Somers book, Knockout, and am currently half-way through. She interviews all these doctors who are going alternative routes and getting FAB results, even with stage IV cancers. THERE IS MUCH HOPE TO BE HAD.
In the meantime, try not to panic - or , go ahead, panic. I know I did. Badly. (And got drunk as a skunk. Oh yeah and tried to run away from my own butt.) And THEN, get your sea legs on. You are a smart, strong woman amongst other smart strong women. Listen to your gut. Listen to your innate wisdom. Listen to your body. TRUST yourself and require a completely trustworthy relationship from all your practitioners and support folk.
(((((((Not)))))))
-
Thanks Truebff. I got drunk when I got the results too. hahahaaa
I just ordered her book. Amazing that 6 docs said she had full body cancer and she didn't believe them, and she was right! It makes me want a second opinion.
For the infared sauna, they have them for $500 if you google it. I like the lying down kind, or you can join a gym and share one. (yuk) What about taking thyroid, like armour thyroid, levothyroxine or glandulars? We're probably all low in it.

And, I'm sure smashing the boobs in mamograms is NOT a good idea. AND, the biopsy spread the cancer to my lymph nodes. I wish I knew they were going to put a staple in! I would have said NO WAY because I knew I was getting a mastectomy.
They don't tell us what's going on! Then they tell me not to look online!
-
Here's a lying down infared sauna for $300. But I don' tfind how to buy it?!!? It must be a group thing.

Here's one on amazon. And you wont have to go to the gym!

My boobs were smushed for the last time when the GP and bs ordered an ultrasound for me due to extreme pain after surgeery, but the radiologist deemed necessary I have a 'few' slides first then the US, so I went for a 'few' for peace of mind and ended up w 6 total, cuz he seemed to see problem at 4 and then the US to say it was all clear, just a seroma in rightt after surgery.... then he came in to cry that his mother had died from bc bcz she would only do alternatives. I wonder how many mammos she had. I am so mad at myself for not walking out, but he had me going there for the time. And I thought bs ordered them, but when I confronted him, he did not.

We all should put together class action lawsuits and stop the insanity. They don't tell us what they're doing because it's KILLING US!
Money talks. They don't care.
The whole world's a mess. I'm sick from it.
Here's a video on it killing us. You may want to put the sound down.
"When doctors in Israel went on strike in 1983, and again in 2000, the mortality rate fell by approximately 50%!
In 1976, the number of deaths fell by 18% in Los Angeles, when LA doctors went on strike for merely a month.
This pattern has been mirrored in the 5 major doctor strikes around the world.""The number of deaths from pharmaceuticals and cancer treatments every year outnumber the deaths for all the wars in U.S. history."
I like being able to edit these, but I wish we had LIKE buttons. I like all your posts.

The Bio-Mat in book The Fouth Treatment for Medical Refugees is different I think. Because it has tourmaline and amethyst and other layers to managge heat differently. It shows a chart in book where the person w cancer has this temperature of 36.5 C then during Bio-mat it is 37.5 and after it is 38 - 39 and holds. Example. There are charts in book on pages in front and page 87.
I don't know yet if infrared sauna does the same, though I am sure it is very beneficial.
Why cannot all things and treatments be more affordable. It's like when you are down and not working and need it the most, and INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY FOR IT, that you have to spend the money. For this month, moving to the fresh air, away from OWB and the acupuncture treatments and the organic raw dairy products are my treatment, but soon a Bio-Mat. Perhaps someway to share one with others near me.

Why is infared sauna better than the sun?
20 minutes in the sun causes cancer now too?
This is all too much.
-
Not: That U Tube video was excellent. Thanks for posting. Again, in almost every alternative cancer treatment, diet is a first line of defense. I agree that we can't expect to remain healthy once we have rid ourselves of cancer unless we follow a healthy diet and lifestyle. There is just too much evidence out there to ignore that fact. It was the first thing I did after dx...change my diet. I also have weekly vitamin C infusions in a Meyer's cocktail, along with taking vit C supplements daily.
BTW, I read Suzanne Sommer's book Knockout from cover to cover when I was first dx. This was my first exploration into the world of holistic medicine. She actually did have breast cancer and underwent surgery and radiation. She regrets now that she did the radiation. She refused chemo and started on her holistic approach to wellness. She is cancer free today. I actually found my current naturopath from a list in the back of her book. I found it to be very informative.
-
This is just my opinion, no research, but the time we are out in the sun, say 10 - 2 is the harsh time. To gardeen in the am sun, esp early,m and to lounge in the late afternoon or setting sun, depending on the climate and weather would be welcome and healing to me. Even w photosensitivity for years, there is some sun I can take, others set me off, so that is the alarm for me. We take the D3 to provide what we could be soaking up but are too afraid to. Both are necessary to me, imho.
Have not read Suzanne Somer's book, but I thank her for the courage to take us on this journey, despite the harrassment she has endured for not being a pro. She isn't but she is deep into the info and the holistic community so what is neededto spread the word.
Back to taxes hahaha

Hello to all Early Stage Natural Girls.
First post to this thread, and actually my first post in 8 or 9 months, I do come to BC.org to read often, and came here today to check if there is a forum on high cholesterol, but gave up searching when I found this thread, and thought I'd ask here. I want to use a natural way to lower the cholesterol, not a statin. My trig. and LDL are way too high, the good one HDL is however high too, and I understand that is good. So how do natural girls lower these other two ??? Hope someone has an answer or can direct me to the proper forum.
Thanks
Dsgirl

Have any of you taken Dim-Plus and have hypothyiod. I did and my tsh levels went up and I read in the Kaiser website not to take Dim if you have a thyriod condition. I switched to maitake musharooms. Anyone know if maitake is useful for estrogen progesterone positive breast cancer. I oppted not to take arimidex.
-
dsgirl, check into the truth about cholesterol. It's not the bad guy BIG pharma made it out to be. They came up with statins and then tried to say it's cholesterols fault we have heart attacks. That's not true, and statins weaken smooth muscles, and that's your heart, so it actually causes heart problems.
My anatomy teacher, a chiropracter, said cholesterol's like the firemen running to the fire. They're the good guys! There was a problem to begin with, either weakness, swelling or tears, etc.
All our cells are made up of cholesterol. We NEED it. It's good. I'll look up all this stuff to post here, and you too.

Windy, I heard coryceps mushrooms are helpful for cancer. Ihaven't tried DIM.
XO

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-430682/Have-conned-cholesterol.html
Have we been conned about cholesterol? Conventional medical wisdom about cholesterol and the role of statins is now being challenged by a small, but growing number of health professionals. Among them is Dr Malcolm Kendrick. A GP for 25 years, he has also worked with the European Society of Cardiology, and writes for leading medical magazines:
"When it comes to heart disease, we have been sold a pup. A rather large pup.
Actually, it's more of a full-grown blue whale. We've all been conned.
If you've got a raised risk of heart disease, the standard medical advice is to take a cholesterol-lowering statin drug to cut your chances of having a heart attack because, as we all know, cholesterol is a killer.
Indeed, many of you already believe that you should take statins for the rest of your natural lifespan..."
"Any place in your body that you injure will flood with cholesterol as cholesterol is a healing agent for the body. The reason lowering cholesterol does not reduce the risk of heart disease is because cholesterol levels are irrelevant. About 50% of people that have a heart attack have normal to low cholesterol levels. Cholesterol does not flood an area nor deposit unless the area has been injured and inflamed. In the case of the arteries the cholesterol builds up when the source of inflammation is not removed such as chronically high homocysteine.
Furthermore, abnormally low cholesterol levels increase the risk for heart attack and stroke even further primarily by reducing circulation." James Sloane, the herbal guy

dsgirl: I keep harping on this, but diet will solve your problem. High trig. are caused by eating too much sugar...we get sugar from simple carbs. Cut out white stuff in your diet and stick to whole fruits, veggies, lean protein and nuts, and the problem will resolve itself. My boyfriend had this problem and nothing worked...even statins which he hated taking. He went off everything and started on this diet...his doctor called with his latest blood tests and said...."whatever you're doing...keep doing it".
-
Kaara is right. Nutrition is the basis for regaining and maintaining our health. We must take it seriously.
DSgirl-These two books do a great job of explaining why we have been sold a pack of worms about the dangers of cholesterol: "The Chlolesterol Conspiracy", but Dr. Ladd McNamara, and "Death By Prescription", by Dr. Ray Strand. In fact, low cholesterol is common in people who get cancer!
I tried DIM. It made my eyes really dry so I stopped. Tried it a few months later, same problem. So DIM is not for me. As for the TSH test, the more important test is the t3 toT4 conversion. Read "Overcoming Thyroid Disorders" by Dr. David Brownstien. I know I have mentioned this a lot, but his iodine protocol is what got my thyroid working and has helped me to lose weight and get my energy back.
The FIR sauna does not give you VIT d as the sun does. You still need to get a little sun and supplement with Vit D. What the sauna does do is allow the healing light penetrate your body, causing you to sweat. Sweating became impossible for me after I had rads, since my thyroid was probably zapped since that was near the site of my tumor. If we do not sweat, it is hard for our lymphatic system to filter out toxins, which is why we are at risk of lymphedema, which has never been an issue for me, which I attribute to my constant use of the sauna. Check your insurance company. The sauna is considered a medical device and may be covered on some policies. If not, it should be and you can call your insurance company and see if you can nag them about getting approval. Sometimes that works if you can convince them it is cheaper for them in the long run.
-
I have a question about sweating. Does the sweating we do if we are on DIM or any of the Al's help clear out our llymphatic system?
-
Hello and Thank you so much for the responses, Kaara, "not" and Vivre.
I should have asked alot sooner, because I am getting ready to go away for 5-6 weeks, will not have internet access there, will be busy being caregiver for a relative that needs 24/7 care. I will be back though. THANKS Ladies.
I am eating healthy, cut out sugar in January after a "nutritional response testing", and oddly that is when the chol. numbers started to climb, they were perfect while I was doing the sugar, lol. I don't miss the sugar anymore btw, the cravings do stop quickly. I have other health issues, (don't we all), still have trouble sleeping, leg and toe cramps, argh, minor issues compared to b/c
Again thanks
dsgirl

Hi Kira, a good question, sorry I dont have an answer. I do not take any of the AL meds or DIM, although my oncologist gave me a prescription for an AL.
I kinda feel like when I sweat, it's a good thing for my body overall, I do my yard work etc, live where it's pretty hot, (I love hot weather) and sweat every day, even when I vacuum inside the house, and a quick shower washes it all off, lol. I have had LE flare-ups, always involved lifting something too heavy or doing repetitive movements, so now I use my sleeve for that, and have not had LE for quite some time,

Vivre, did you ever try the DIM via a cream so you absorb it through your skin? I have not heard about side effects from others, but was curious about that. I have been on the cream now for 6 weeks and no SEs that I know of. I have had dry eyes for years and my eyes were effected by radiation. Lately, when it gets bad, I am dotting castor oil all around them, letting it absorb for 10 minutes and then taking my shower. Castor oil is very soothing for the eye areas and seems to make my dry eyes feel much better.
Thanks to all who keep pointing me to more info on saunas!
Also, after reading through Suzanne Somer's book, I am more glad than EVER to be working with my Chinese medicine guy. It is a lot to wade through and self-doctor. It is reassuring to have a ND guiding me and helpful to have this board where so much information is being discussed and shared.
BTW, I just started the glutathione patch. Has anyone here been doing that or any of the detox programs?
-
truebff: I am taking glutathione liquid daily and a shot once a week in my IV infusion. Where do you get the patch...from your ND? I did a juice and smoothie detox just before starting my gluten free diet to cleanse my system of toxins.
-
Hi Kaara!
My Chinese guy wanted to put me on glutathione but he didn't want me to take it by mouth, he wanted me to take it through the skin as it absorbed that way well. It can be in an IV too, but not so much pills. My problem was the first cream he gave me stunk badly. I could never use it. P.U. I hate most scented stuff and am sensitive to smells. Then we had the compounding pharmacy make up a sample but it had glutathione's "natural smell" -which is sulfur - yep -rotten eggs! Not the smell I wanted either. Then I found these patches on line that Suzanne Somers also promotes so I sent the link to my Chinese guy and he looked it up and thought they would work. They are totally scent free and modest to wear and you change the locations on varying acupuncture/acupressure points, but they are expensive. I started using them two days ago. I'll let you know how they do.
How do you experience glutathione? Does it get you more energy? Hard, probably, to say along with experiencing chemo. But maybe???
-
I really can't tell any difference. It's supposed to be the mother of all antioxidants and will make the rest of the antioxidants more effective in your body. I did take the antioxidant test that was featured on Dr. Oz and scored very high on it...54,000 (Oz was 75,000) so I guess it's working.
-
Hi Kaara,
Where was the test? I couldn't locate it when I looked on the website.
BTW, you look glowing! Love the picture!
-
Hi interesting read.
My old time healer, her words, sent an email and asked me to do some research on IF the lymphatic system is mucked up then you are NOT to add any minerals which she sees that I am doing, though I dod not know exactly all of these supps that would constitute as minerals to be a problem. ssssssooooooooo. I am off to reaserch that soon. But anyone have insight?
Kaara - did not recognize you, of course, and you are in your whaties? I thought you always said 70s, but you look more in 40s! What good hhealth habits can do for us!
Truebff, you are not so far from me, straight north from Niles.
Today I am doing tax details to the forms online and drinking more water and peeing when I have to, new habit I need to implement, I get too busy and wait. There was a post on alts by Nobby from Australia, who might be thrown off boards by now, but he had so much info that I got a lightbulb moment when I woke up this morn.
-
Kaara love the picture and I agree you do not look 70 something

Anyone trying B17?
http://www.worldwithoutcancer.org.uk/aspreventative.html
Vitamin B17 As a Preventative
Vitamin B-17 is one of the main sources of food in cultures such as the Eskimos, the Hunzas, the Abkasians and many more. Did you know that within these tribes there has never been a reported case of cancer? According to Dr. Krebs, we need a minimum of 100 mg of vitamin B-17 (the equivalent of about seven apricots seeds) too nearly guarantee a cancer free life. Foods that contain vitamin B-17 are as follows:
- KERNELS OR SEEDS OF FRUIT: The highest concentration of vitamin B-17 to be found in nature, aside from bitter almonds. Apple, apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach, pear, plum, prune.
- BEANS: broad (Vicia faba), burma, chickpeas, lentils (sprouted), lima, mung (sprouted), Rangoon, scarlet runner.
- NUTS: Bitter almond, macadamia, cashew.
- BERRIES: Almost all wild berries. Blackberry, chokeberry, Christmas berry, cranberry, elderberry, raspberry, strawberry.
- SEEDS: Chia, flax, sesame.
- GRASSES: Acacia, alfalfa (sprouted), aquatic, Johnson, milkweed, Sudan, minus, wheat grass, white dover.
- GRAINS: oat groats, barley, brown rice, buckwheat groats, chia, flax, millet, rye, vetch, wheat berries.
- MISCELLANEOUS: bamboo shoots, fuschia plant, sorghum, wild hydrangea, yew tree (needles, fresh leaves).
Two rules of thumb: According to Dr. Krebs, the basic concept is that sufficient daily B-17 may be obtained by following either of two suggestions:
First, eating all the B-17-containing fruits whole (seeds included), but not eating more of the seeds by themselves than you would be eating if you ate them in the whole fruit. Example: if you eat three apples a day, the seeds in the three apples are sufficient B-17. You would not eat a pound of apple seeds.
Second, one peach or apricot kernel per 10 lbs of body weight is believed to be more than sufficient as a normal safeguard in cancer prevention, although precise numbers may vary from person to person in accordance with individual metabolism and dietary habits. A 170-lb man, for example, might consume 17 apricot or peach kernels per day and receive a biologically reasonable amount of Vitamin B-17.
And two important notes: Certainly, you can consume too much of anything. Too many kernels or seeds, for example, can be expected to produce unpleasant side effects. These natural foods should be consumed in biologically rational amounts (no more than 30 to 35 kernels per day).
High concentrations of B-17 are obtained by eating the natural foods in their raw or sprouting stage. This does not mean that moderate cooking and other tampering will destroy the B-17 content. Foods cooked at a temperature sufficient for a Chinese dinner, for example, will not lose their B-17 content.
More on B17...
