Barb - so glad you are feeling more like yourself. I know it has seened like a long haul to get there. Keeping fingers crosses and prayers said that you get a new less stressful, even enjoyable job soon.
Marybe - so glad you are getting a chance to get away for some R&R with friends. Willaimsburg is not that far from Raleigh, how long will you be there? Maybe I could come up for a day, if I can work my schedule out.
Lisa - those pictures would make a beautiful photo quilt. Would you mind if I copied the pictures to maybe use in a quilt sometime? I think I am hooked on quilting.
-
You are always welcome to copy my photos...they are for everyone to enjoy ...
Barbara, I am hoping things get better at work for you...hugs
It is tulip time

Is it an Indigo bunting? We saw them in Arkansas but it has been a long time ago. Just beautiful.
-
i just love the birds!!!!3jays
-
The birds are beautiful. We have nothing like that here, none of our birds have wonderful colour though some do have flashes under wings etc but most are quite drab though many have wonderful songs.
.
This is a kea in flight- type of parrot - and a real clown. And this is a Kakako ablue wattled crow, its very rare and I haven't seen one.
Even our kingfisher is not as highly coloured as others I have seen.
Hope you have all had a great weekend, we did. Went to a wedding on Saturday DS was best man. Wonderful setting, just a beautiful day. Then had lunch with bride and groom and lots of the guests at a cafe yesterday. Will post som epictures once I have down loaded them.
Big hugs to all

-

-
Hi all
3Jays that Kea is a really funny bird, an absolute clown and very naughty. Will steal things and take wind screen wipers off cars. They walk in a very jaunty way.
Must go and get dressed as DGS will be here soon and that will keep me busy for the day as he is just beginning to walk.
Hope you all have a great day.
Big hugs.

I saw a KookaBurra once at the zoo. We had a Girl Scout song about him. He looked very different than our Northen song birds.
Have fun with your DGS. MY DGD is 19 months and when she is walking she pumps her little arms back and forth and is so cute. I just enjoy every single moment with her so much. My other Grands are far away.
I hope you all have a good evening.

Roses are blooming

It's excellent to see the beautiful flowers blooming somewhere on the planet! So far my garden has some hope - and one little daffodil that bloomed and escaped the squirrels. Thanks Lisa!

Morning all.
Ginger the kooksburra is an Australia bird, not a song bird, yes and its the one we sang about at Girl Guides and school. It is a typical Australian- very loud and noisy!! (That should get a response from Chrissy). I must admit our birds here are a bit dull but some have the most beautiful songs.
Love the roses Lisa, they are so beautiful.
Beautiful day here and so will go for a walk later to get a coffee. Must do the shopping but not sure when probably when DH gets home. It is a holiday here tomorrow and Monday for Easter so a nice long break.
One of my morning tasks is watching a wildlife camera on an eagle nest at Decorah just so fascinating looking at these majestic birds as they raise their young.
Big hugs to all
-
Aly are you saying that I'm loud and noisy?..................well...................I couldn't agree more......hahahahahaha! It's just the way most of us are and the kookaburra doesn't sing, he laughs!
Kookaburra sit in the old gum tree
Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh Kookaburra laugh Kookaburra, gay your life must be.
Yup I even remember the song........lol
Love n hugs all. Chrissy

Can't help chiming in about the Kookaburra. I learned the same song in Girl Scouts in ... oh around 1954... and as soon as Gingerbrew mentioned the song & could remember the tune & all the words. Not to mention the girls who were in my troup. LOTS of years ago. Thanks for the memories.
-
alyson: i guess we ALL sang that songs as kids.. me too..
i particularly love birds, of all kinds.. bothc clowns, and louder ones.. wanted a maccaw for the longest, then, babysat him for awhile and said no way.. too loud and messy!!!
chrissy.. thats' why we "clicked" im also "loud and brassy" thats' what ple here say, anyway.. gonna put the wig that marybe found for me up in a bit. gotta go to photobucket first...
who's celebrating Easter, and how??hope you're doing well, chrissy, sounds like it.. are you sprung from the hospital yet??
anybody hear from Isabella? maybe the 'puters down, still. i hope she's ok.. probably enjoying the quiet at her house.....hahaha
-
-
sorry, the other one was HUGE!!!hahaha
-
Nice one 3Jays
You asked how we would be celebrating Easter. Will have Hot Cross buns tomorrow which is Good Friday here. Generally have them for breakfast. If I am feeling better might go to Church. Then on Sunday its Easter Egg Day and Church again. Will probably have folks over for a meal on Sunday night.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend
-
We will have DD, DSIL and DGD over for Easter. I have made up an Easter Basket for DGD whois 19 mo old. No Easter Grass in it though, I have had enough of that over the years. Maybe I will put a feather boa in it in its stead. I have a big big paper mache egg in it and a bunny and a wooden stringing toy.
I also have some Marshmallow Peeps to blow up in the microwave. I love to watch them expand. I am a cheap date.
