You ladies are doing so great!!! Keep it up! Don't forget lots of water to clear the system of all the waste your burning off.

Tori, I'm so impressed with boot camp!! You go girl!!!

ATeamNana, I also use protein drinks as a meal supplement and find them filling & less toxic than other meals. When I'm at work or on the road doing errands it is much healthier than a slice is pizza or a take out burger, not that I don't love them.....GNC also sell protein bars that I love, my favorite is the supreme protein peanut butter & jelly bar. They come in 2 sizes. The small one is perfect for a meal & has 200 calories & 15gm of protein.

    Have a great day all!!!

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry I've been MIA lately.  ATeam (Marsha) it was so sweet of you to send me a message!  Thank you!!

I started helping some friends at their nursery & craft center while I'm continuing my job search. It's been keeping me busy.  Being on my feet at the nursery has been good exercise but I must say, by the end of the day, my heels feel like they are on fire.  The scale has moved a little, but not much.  One thing that's good is that I'm feeling much stronger.

You girls are doing great with all your walking, boot camps, etc.  I'd try to shout out to each of you but I'm afraid I'd miss someone.

I really can't tell you how happy it makes me that this thread has brought some folks together.  It's really cool!  Love & healthier days to you all!

Hi Plantlover - great to hear from you again & thank you for starting this wonderful thread. There are wonderful inspiring women who have touched my life that I look forward to hearing from every day.

I'm having a wonderful day so far. I began with doing the treadmill this morning, 3 miles. It feels great to be starting the day with doing something for me. I then ran errands and put palm crosses at the cemetery for my parents and in-laws. I miss them so, I lost my mom and both in-laws in the last 2.5 years. I am blessed to have wonderful family and all those special times we shared, there would never be enough time.

My exercise routine and supplements have kicked in because I feel stronger with less joint discomfort. Thank you all for the encouragement & support. Have a wonderful evening and fun weekend!!

    (((hugs))) Janet

Hi, ATeamNana, My hubby always says any walk is a great walk. My son coaches baseball, too. Hi, PlantLover, so good to see you, and thanks for starting this wonderful thread. You started so many friendships made here. You are one special lady!!!!! Working at a nursery is a great workout, good for you and I know how much you love plants, flowers, etc.  Hi, Janet!!!! How is your new car. Wow, 3 miles on the treadmill, you are great. Yesterday, we walked with weights instead of the bike ride, but today we took a long bike with our son, who has off today. He said we did 15 miles with one stop, he has an app on his phone. I am ready for a nap!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend, and catch up soon!!!!!

Hi everyone. So glad plant lover snuck back in. I did pretty good today on eating but No significant exercise today unless I get to count a short walk across campus to get the mail:). I work at a small college in Illinois. I am so glad it is Friday it has been a busy week at work and I'm actually calling it a night. Goodnight all! Marsha

Took DH and DS to Cold Stone today since we had a coupon from DH's birthday. Let them both choose what they wanted and then just ate a little bit of each. I did well today on food - it's easier in many ways when I'm home as I know what's around. Eating out is dangerous any way you slice it.

DS has a soccer tournament this weekend so there will likely be lots of walking around, parking is never close to the field.

Happy Friday, hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi everyone!!! It feels like winter is back here in the NE.....no outside activities cause of the cold rain. I did get to do the treadmill this morning & even did some light weights & strengthening exercises. I'm feeling so much better these days!!! :-)

I'm going to pick my car up this afternoon, very excited!!! I even get to see my daughter a bit this weekend. Her boyfriends sister-in-law had her baby girl this morning!!! This was an unexpected visit as they are coming home next weekend.

Kathy, have fun at the baseball games.....enjoy

CookieMonster, I agree with the eatting out. It's so difficult to try & pick healthy & satisfying....if your paying for it you want to at least enjoy it.

Hi everybody!  I finally got a chance to get back here.  Life is definitely busier all of a sudden.  Hi Plantlover!  So glad to see you.....glad you are feeling stronger!  That is a good thing.  I am noticing that in myself too....so much stronger than last spring at this time.  Keeping you in my thoughts on your job search.

Kindergarden..........A grand daughter on the way!!  How exciting.....I know that its a blessing either way, but now you can start buying those cute little outfits!    Sounds like you are keeping at your exercise...how did the baseball games go today?    I worked til early afternoon today, then was going to walk but they were having a track meet today and  it was still going on so I went home, got supper ready and went back after supper to get my walk in.........I get disappointed now if I can't get out there.  It has got to be helping my metabolism!!!   I think I have always had a slow one, I was the middle of 3 sisters and both big and little sister were much more athletic than me.  Dad called me 'Butterball' when I was little.....really, really disliked that nickname!  As i was walking along today, I noticed that I am keeping at a faster pace now.....hey before I know it maybe I'll be jogging!   Wink

tenaj.........sounds like you've been busy!    Congrats on the new car!   Don't you love that new car smell!  Sounds like your new job is going well and I am so happy that you are feeling better too!   As much as we have to make ourselves get out there and exercise at first, slowly and surely we are reaping the benefits in mind, body and spirit!!!   Keep up the good work!   I'm sorry to hear about your mother and in laws......so much loss for you in such a short period of time, and then to have to deal with bc.  Guess we just have to hold onto our memories and cherish the time we have together with family.  Lost my Mom 16 years ago and I still miss her everyday.   She was a nurse too, and so many times when I was going through treatment, I wished she was here with me.

Cookie........hope your DS had a good soccer tournament!   Know what you mean about eating out.  Now that I am back working, if I work til closing, DH and I will sometimes just go out and get something to eat.......if I am too hungry, I get really tempted.  I know I need to keep some healthy foods down at work so I can eat something every 3 hours or so.

Hi AteamNana.....Erika......Tori........hope everyone is doing well and having a good weekend.   Keeping you all in my thoughts.   Have a nice Sunday tomorrow!

Dear Jaytee, you are doing great with walking. Isn't it great when you actually look forward to walking and miss it if you don't??? Yes, I can't wait to be a grandma, and to have a little girl in the family,is such a blessing. We have lots of boys in the family and we love them, too, but I think they are as happy too, to have a girl join them!!!!! The baseball games were fun and last night at the final game of the day, it poured, but those boys love it. My son coaches and he was laughing as the boys were slipping and sliding around the field, they finally called it, the field was one big mud puddle, thanks for asking!!!  Tenaj, I bet you are so excited to get your new car, and how fun to see your daughter. Unexpected visits from loved ones are the best. A big hello to the rest of the wonderful ladies on here and hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!!!!Smile

Good morning everyone!!!! The weather is great Jaytee, but it still gets pretty cold at night!!! Yes, the boys pants were filthy and I thought of those days soaking my boys' pants in Lestoil overnight.  I have not seen the product Lestoil for awhile, it must be toxic, so they took it off the market, oh, dearSurprised Enjoy your day and Spring will be everywhere soon. It is AprilCool Hugs, Kathy off for a bike ride!!!!!!

Good evening ladies! I hope your day is going well. I'm working full time this week for orientation in another facility. It was mostly boring today...polices etc... But at least I got paid :-)

I came home & took a bike ride with my DH. Really loving Spring..... Always did, but I have a much better appreciation for every day now. I know you know what I mean.....

Jaytee, your doing a great job with walking. Thank you for your posts, they always make me feel good after I read them. I love your words, encouragement, & kindness. I had a few nick names that I would rather not recall. I'm too sensitive anyway....

Kathy, I would have loved to see the mayhem in the rain. When my son was young I was assistant coach for his baseball team, I use to be the pitcher. We had a lot of fun. Although some of the parents use to make me crazy!!

    HELLO to everyone else.....

    Enjoy the evening!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for trhe encouragement Kathy & Tenaj...I am better today.

Protein drink blended with banana sounds good...I'll have to try that.

Recipe: Banana Pepper Pulled Pork or Beef -   Way simple   - 1 pork roast or beef roast about 1 cup or so of water and 1 jar of sweet banana peppers juice and all or if you are braver than me Jalapeno or Peppercini works also.  Put in Crockpot on High for about 5 hours.  Break apart with a fork.    We love it.

Well off to work soon... catch ya all later...Marsha

Morning!  Yes, Ateam you can do it----you can lose those 15 pounds!!   I'm going to take carrot sticks to work today too.  I usually have yogurt down there and some multi grain crackers.  I have to be careful and only take a little or else I eat them like chips.  I have always liked something salty along with yogurt.  Know what you mean about coffee-----I have cut down how much I drink, but it is so tempting sometimes to keep refilling the cup.  Have another good day!

Kindergarden........I remember Lestoil!  Mom always had it in the laundry room.  You are right, havent seen it in a long time.  Something else I can't find anymore is Sani-Flush, those liquid toilet bowl cleaners run out of the bottle like water!    Feeling a grocery store rant coming on.......usually buy the multi pack size of TP for home, but bought a 4 pack for work the other day and boy o boy have they ever shrunk the size of the TP rolls again!!    Hey grocery stores.....stop shrinking the food and the toilet paper............can you just turn your shrink ray on me!!!!!!!!  Laughing

Hi tenaj.......have a good week at work!   Thanks for the kind words.  I have always been sensitive too, sometimes too much so.    Also glad I havent jumped the gun on planting too early.  We are just so up and down here.  There was a little bit of frost on the ground this morning and the weather report last night didnt even say that the temp would be that low.   Can't wait til there are flowers everywhere to see! DH did plant me some sugar snap peas and they finally popped up through the ground so I am excited for that---hopefully no groundhog or bunnies will find them!  I still need to do some weeding in the flower beds.  I keep running out of daylight too early!   Yesterday, I came home from work, got supper going,  we ate, got the kitchen cleaned up---went for my walk and it was getting dark before I got back home.  Sat down and started dozing off!

Have a good day everyone..................we are not depriving ourselves, we are being good to ourselves everytime we eat healthy and get out there and do our walks and bike rides and boot camp.   Its a good thing!!!!!!     Much success to everyone today!!

I'm so impressed with the bike riding. I hope to walk tonight.

Kathy I love to cook. I have had to be creative in the last five years with gluten free meals. My husband has celiac disease. Unfortunately I have learned to convert a lot of his favorite deserts which do not have wheat flours they still have the sugar. So I am trying to convert again using less sugar.

Jaytee am not a fan of yogurt. I wish I could like it. I have tried many and just can't eat it.

Tenaj. Hope the rest of your work is a little more interesting:)

Well back to work. Hi Erika. Plant lover. Cookiemonster if you pop in:)

Hello everyone. ATeamNana & Jaytee that is so healthy to be eatting carrot sticks. Next week when I'm in the field again I'm going to pack some for snacking while I'm on the road.

Pretty windy again here but calmed down after I got home from work. We took another very nice bike ride and then caught the last bit of sunshine on our patio. I was a bad girl tonight. I made a cocktail for hubby & me, rarely drink these days, but just felt like sipping a drink in the fresh air.(at least the drink was made with fresh pineapple.....)

Kathy, those acai blueberry chocolates are deadly. I try to limit my visit to the cabinet to once a day. My mother was the queen of lestoil, her solution for all sorts of cleaning needs. It does work, I just don't like the smell.

    Sending hugs to you...,Janet

Hey everybody............back from work, the weather did clear up and I'm going to walk after dinner.

ATeam.........know what you mean about yogurt....I was told during chemo to eat yogurt everyday and I made myself eat it.......found that I liked the brand called Yo Plus the best, but now all the groceries around here don't carry it anymore so I  found that I can tolerate the Activia brand.  They are both probiotic types.   My daughter will eat the plain greek yogurts with just fresh fruit and honey, I cannot make myself eat that.  She will even drink the liquid form of yogurt called kefir.  My sister made me a smoothie once with that and lots of frozen fruit added to it....it wasnt too bad.  She is the one who is doing the '17 Day Diet" plan, it includes the kefir daily.  Probably a reason why I havent tried to follow that plan.    My food quirk is cheese.  When I was a child, I wouldnt eat it at all.  Something about the texture of cold cheese always got to me.   Eventually I got to the point where I could eat pizza without taking off the toppings and cheese.  Now, I don't mind the mozzarella.  I have never been able to order cheese burgers, but I can melt grated cheddar on nacho chips and eat those, but absolutely can't eat the gooey melted cheese mixture that comes on nachos at concession stands.  Never have been able to eat macaroni and cheese, but I like to make it for my family.   It sounds so weird.  Everyone I know loves cheese.

tenaj........a  cocktail out on the patio with hubby sounds like a nice splurge.  Every once in a while I like to just have a glass of wine in the evening.   My sister is going to make your potato dumplings this weekend.  We did enjoy the leftovers from my batch sauteed in the butter!   I had to be careful not to eat too many, but the guys finished them up!

kindergarden.........luckily there is no Costco in our town!   We are in one of those mid sized cities...you have to drive to Columbus to go to Sams Clubs or places like Trader Joes.  I love Trader Joes!   They have some nice treats in there too.    Wish I could just eat a little bit of a favorite treat without going overboard.  I am being tempted with the Easter candy I have bought.  Have thought about sneaking a piece or two but so far have kept my mitts off of it!   Smile  My DD has been so good on keeping Lent, she hasnt had any desserts of any kind and she is looking forward to Easter Sunday!

    Have a nice evening everyone!
