We have been led to fear any estrogen. This is wrong because women have always needed estrogen  for our bodies to function. There are good and bad estrogens, which I am not going to go into depth on because it is easy for you all to do the research and read about it as I have. I have probably read half a dozen books on hormones. That said, I think there is too much panic about phytoestrogens in food. IMHO, I do not concern myself with eating foods that are in this category because like soy, there are opinions on both sides. I feel that eating a variety of foods is the key, and avoiding the white stuff like flour and sugar are the best way to keep our bodies in balance. Most plants have seem to have some phytoestrogenic properites. It is the xenoestrogens that I try to avoid. Here is an article that pretty much proves that we still do not have any definitive answers on this:

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18614351

Maud I have been using products with milk thistle for liver support for years with confidence because it is proven to help keep the liver pathways open. When I first started with milk thistle, I had a lot of itching as a detox symtom. Over time this went away. It was as if the milk thistle was releasing all the toxins in my torso and eventually they were flushed out. This is when seemed to allow me to lose weight for the first time in my life.

Here is another link about the  soy lecithin controversy. Again, it is hard to know who to believe because there is so much conflicting information. I could post a great explaination that has put my mind at ease by the Usana scientists, but of course that will bring out my dear accuser so I will post this link instead:

Hi Vivre, like I was saying to Dunesleeper on the other thread, unfortunately most of what we read in books or on the internet does not distinguish between ER+ and non ER BC (your first link is a good example) They address breast cancer in general which is a huge omission on their part IMO. Also, there is a major difference between preventing BC in the first place and preventing a reoccurrence. I was trying to prevent BC by eating soy in all of its varieties, it did not prevent it in my case, I can only suspect it either caused it or fueled it, so I do not trust soy based on my research   on the subject, but that is my opinion.

I am not concerning myself with estrogenic 'food' as much as herbs or others in supplement form which are known to be estrogenic; my tumour showed 95% pos for ER and I feel more comfortable avoiding phytoestrogens in pill form

Thanks for those links Wink Really glad to know that lecithin extracted from sunflower can be found, I cannot find any extract from egg yolk but really want to supp with lecithin

DunesSleeper - Essiac tea is the patented tea which was first called Ojibwa tea.  A recipe to bring the body back to balance, not necessarily to cure cancer but it has been said to do so for so many - the drink is said to be from the Anishinabee Grand Medicine Society.

The problem is the patented tea been changed and for one, red clover added, a definite no-no supplement for anyone with a 'female' cancer.

The 21st century woman who was trained by the Grand Medicine Society to make the tea, she sells wholly organic, natural, fresh, cut and combined tea in bulk that you can make on your own, better cost by far and more potent.  See Ojibwa Tea of Life for more info, www. ojibwa tea .com - if anyone talks to her, tell her the lady w/ the skunks said hi and i am doing well still.

That said, I have a jug of it in my fridge always, use it for vaarious reasons, sometimes in full dose for hope that it will help w the cancer too.  But I also use it for a douche, for a poultice, for my pets for parasites (I use three things, evolve all year) and we drink it for balance four times a year for several weeks each time.  I drink it for liver detox, higer blood oxygen, cleansing, high minerals and vitamins, iron support, I love the stuff, been using it for two decades.  It did not keep me from getting cancer though, which frankly surprisedme, then not so much when I realized I was up against this OWB next door w pseudoestrogen toxic smoke

Just  saying, I know that the Essiac w red clover is not for bc.  And I know the Ojibwa tea can benefit, it could even be the answer for some for cancer, depending on their type and cause, but do not count on it alone for cancer because it may not be the answer.

Maud - they were yum, used two yellow tulips for decor though since the neighbor's cats come in our yard and do who knows what to the violets, uck, thought of that before she went for the violets to put on the food.  Bird poop too, bird poop would not have been good either, and tulips were under eave by porch so safe.

Essa-Your summary is a great testimony that there is no one size fits all to cancer. That is why there will never be "a cure" even though we have many cures already. The trick is to find out what works for each person, which is all through trial and error. This is why those of us here are essentially our own guinea pigs. We are trying to see what works best for us. It is a bit daunting at times, but it is also very empowering. The problem I had with the oncologists approach from day one was that I felt like I was put into a statistical chart and treated like a stat, not a person. I was given the standard protocol without being told there were any options and without being asked how I felt about it. I believe we would have a lot more success at treating cancer if the approach was more personalized. It is saddening and maddening that it is not.

Speaking of flowers. I am looking outside and my field of daffodils are in full bloom, my Red Buds are beautiful and my Redspire Pear is bursting with white flowers. It is crazy! Here in the midwest, this usually does not happen til late April. Last year, my pear bloomed on mother's day. It has me freaked out a bit. I will be looking at aa acre of dandelions by the end of the week. We don't spray so they are out of control, but I recently got some tips from an organic farmer that I hope will hope in the future. Dandelion salad or wine anyone?

I posted this on the Complementary board as well.... came across information on Dandelion tea as a potential remedy for my son's ezcema (he has a rash around his mouth constantly), and found the following information to be very interesting.

Yesterday, went to Barnes & Noble for first time in a few years, is my bestest store ever.  I love when books I NEED jump out at me.  This time I was predominately interested in women's health.

CANCER: 50 Essential Things to Do by Greg Andersen

Have seen it before.  This time I needed it.  I think perhaps I will try to finda thread that is working their way through this book at whatever level each person is, as it works for whatever therapy one is choosing, complementary, conventional or alternative, as long as they are still taking hold on  body, mind and spirit. I know that sounds a bit contradictory to us, but some may not fully understand I suppose.  Does anyone know where to point the way as I begin a search for a place to work through a check list llike this?  Besides emotional on bc.org?  Thanks.

Marianna, a thought, could it be your son is sensitive to the toothpaste, something he uses everyday and possiibly yours has sodium flouride, sodium lauryl sulfate or even sles, DEA, propylene glycol, triclosan (carcinogen pesticide chemical allowed in toothpaste too)..... some kids are so sensitive to these that they get red 'rashes' on their necks and face right after brushing which goes away later but happens all the time.  My twin niece and nephew used to get that flaming red area every time they were shampooed. If I use regular shampoo or conditioner, I get medium sized boils on my scalp and dried skin like ezcema around my hairline, some of same ingredients are in hair care as in dental.  Anyway, we use either Nature's Sunshine or Neways toothpaste because we know it is safer, even Tom's has some uck ingredients that bother me to know they are in there and I wonder why.

oh yes, dandelion salad and tea it is then, always wanted to try these.  And what a lovely way to get closer to the nature in our own yards.

Discovered I love the rainbow chard, steam gently, drain and add a hint of rice wine vinegar and pink sea salt for an extremely alkaline dish.

Vivre, I had the same experience only different.  One surgeon gave the speel.  One was like, here I am to do my surgery, no link to the other parts of the team.  One onc not at a center cancelled my appt even before since I had told assistant when making appt that I was not doing chemo or rads now, message was that I was going to die. Three cancer centers would not let me to even one appt because I led w 'I do not choose to do chemo or rads now but want all the other parts  of the team."  Really, I ask, they did not know me or my path report at all, how did they know I would even be suitable for chemo or rads?  They all left me out there to 'die' in their own words, because I refused what they had to offer, they were incapable of geetting creative in a protocol for me.  I was livid and desperate, did not know my way around yet, but now am glad I was refused, I have found this journey quite invigorating both spiritually, healthwise and emotionally. What I do hasbeen tailored to me, me only, and serves well, I feel what I do is healing me, killing bacteria and cancer that have threatened my life, even healing it where possible... and what I do is not easy, not inexpensive, and definitely not painless thus far.  But it is mine and very simple and not caustic for my body.

Essa:  That is too bad that your cancer center treated you that way.  My BS who is affiliated with a cancer center at one of the local hospital where I live is so kind.  He is my go to for all questions about my tx and meds.  He will take the time to answer and listen to me when my MO will just brush me off.  I continue with the MO because at least he is prompt and follows up with phone calls.  The nurse did my blood work the other day, and he called me personally to tell me all was ok.  What more could I ask. I feel like I am treated like a human being at this center as  opposed to the Cleveland Clinic in Florida where I am just a number.  When I walked out on that onc app't because they left me sitting for an hour and a half, they didn't even call me back to try and reschedule.  What a joke!  So...I will drive 45 minutes across town to get personal service.

I have yet to meet my MO. My mother is very supportive of my choice of alternative treatment, but she wants me to go to the appt and not tell him of my choice. And she wants to hear what he has to  say. Yet, she isn't as interested in going to the herbalist I will be checking out Saturday. She will go, though, since I asked her to. I told her the herbalist might be my replacement for the oncologist, so she should help me hear what he has to say.

I think I am ready to get moving on this. I had a very depressed day today, and I think it is because I want real guidance as to what I should be doing for myself. Left to my own devices, I am laying in bed too much, exercising far too little, and skipping meals. Maybe when I get this last drain out Friday I will do more. But I'm glad I have an appt with my supplement doctor tomorrow, get the drain out Friday, and meet the herbalist Saturday. Gosh I hope he is knowledgeable about oncology.

Thanks for the warm welcome by many of you. I think I got scared out of the DCIS section when I was first diagnosed 2 years ago because I saw posts like "how dare you minimize my diagnosis." It just wasn't the information I wanted to read or energy I wanted to be a part of. Initially I didn't feel like I was doing anything "alternative," but that seems to be the label that most closely resembles my views and treatment choices. I look forward to learning and sharing more...this is a lifetime journey and I am grateful for the many blessings of health that ironically DCIS has brought into my life.

Ignore people like BlackCat.  They don't want us to have threads dedicated to learning the things we want to know.  People like that want to deny us information and the ability to decide for ourselves.  Or, sometimes they just need everyone to do it their way to justify their own choices.  Sometimes the biggest defenders of a procedure are those who need to believe that their choice was the right one.  Maybe they think if everyone thinks as they do, their choices will be validated and justified?

Unfortunately, good knowledgeable people leave these threads because of mean spirited people like that.  I was lucky when I first joined in 2009 to have a variety of well intentioned knowledgeable people posting ... so when trolls came in I wasn't deterred.

If others sign in during troll invasions, they may be scared away.

I just received the results of my first Thermography.  I got a T1 rating on the right breast, which is the best you can have, and an LT1 on the left, meaning I have had a lumpectomy in that breast, but nothing suspicious shows at this time.  This was the best news I've had in six months since I've started all this process of surgery and treatments.  I will pick up the actual paperwork tomorrow and if there is anything else that might be informative, I will post here.  It was suggested that I have another one in six months which will coordinate perfectly with my mammogram schedule which will be in May.

Kaara - you are so super organized, you do so inspire me.  Thank you for keeping us up to date because it informs and calls to action for those who forget what to do next, like moi.

Luna - so right, people do leave because of the stress and controversy and we need them as much as they need us here.

Donna - I know, the how dare you minimize my choice of treatment comes to mind, how dare you attempt to steal my hope.  That is why we need each other.

Dunesleeper - glad your mom is going w you and you asked her to go to herbalist too, we need all the ears we can borrow when in the initial shock.  The one thing I wanted to tell you, check out the LE threads if you have not done so yet, for info on how to exercise and how much before you start doing to o much,  I started too soon and made some major mistakes and am now dealing with lymphodema stage 2 (bs did not mention it at all) and learning how to reverse this before it is worse. Balance, and rest.  8 hrs for sleep, all the other hours to heal is what I was told long long long ago, 25 yrs I think, and am finally taking it to heart.

So happy to read some of your posts today! Essa, thanks for info on Essiac tea! Vivre & Essa, your descriptions of being made into a statistic was exactly my experience. So harsh, so cold, so wrong! But that's what led me here...and I am super grateful, happy and over the moon healthy today -- and my family and I will reap the benefits for the rest of our lives. For those that are intersted in checking out my "story" and why I think we need to "STOP the breast cancer INSANITY, here is my blog: www.dcis411.com   ~ Donna

Vivre, lucky you.  Never tasted dandelion wine, no wonder you're so healthy !  Enjoy your flowers, they're a gift to us

Marianna, will be adding dandelion extract to my protocol but would much prefer dandelion wine..

Dunesleeper, wishing you an enlightened herbalist, one who knows the difference between ER pos and ER neg, real important - let us know what he recommends

D4peace, glad to have you with us, let us all stick together like glue and like Luna said, ignore the mean spirited

Essa - I need to look for that book - sounds good.

dp4peace - welcome. I'm new here too, but LOVE the information and support I get every time I read a post. I'm interested to read your blog.

dunesleeper - good luck with your appointments. I started out mainstream for the BC, even though I was already treating other issues with a natural course, but the more I read and learn, the more I go back to my "natural" roots.  You will choose what is best for you. Kudos to your mom for at least listening. Mine will listen, and then sigh and say "Well..."

Kaara - GREAT news! Another hurdle passed.

I had dandelion tea once ... Yell

My naturo doc prescribed some more supplements, mainly supplements that will be added to my morning smoothie. He also prescribed a supplement called Chrysin, which is a bioflavenoid found in passion flower. Essentially, it is an aromatase inhibitor -- a natural one that doesn't cause osteoporosis. How cool is that!

I wrote to the Essiac people about my ER+ breast cancer and the phytoestrogenic properties of their product. They have yet to reply to me. I wanted them to tell me how to return the product. I'm very disappointed in them, and if they are going to be unresponsive, I am going to consider them untrustworthy.

Since the supplements I am being prescribed seem to be meeting all my needs for preventing recurrence or even another primary cancer, I am probably going to cancel my appt with the herbalist. I think this doc has it covered.

Kaara, Congrats on your good Thermography.  I hope to be able to get one soon.

Luna, you are so right!  I do not like the negitive energy the trolls bring. The arguing, bickering and cruel things that are said are just not worth reading.  I am not scared away, but rather disgusted and sometimes by the response they elict.  When they show up I quit reading and remove the threads from my favorites.  If everyone would just ignore them and NOT argue and bicker with them, it would be so much better.  If no one responds to them they will bore and leave.  I don't post here very often, but when it is not hostile, I do read regularly.

Dandelion wine?  What is this?  Where do you get it?  Sounds interesting.

Can anyone tell me about root canals?  I went to dentist last Fall before my unimx in Nov.  I had a few fillings (porcelain) and was told that one of my molars would likely need a root canal and crown.  They were anxious to do it then, but I said I wanted to wait until all my surgeries were complete.    I can def feel a cavity on the molar and I want that fixed, but I'm wary of the root canal.  I've read some things about why they may be detrimental, but I'm not exactly sure what the reason is.  Curious to hear what you guys think.

    ROOT CANAL and BC INFORMATION

To make links live, just hightlight and right click and open in new tab, should do it.  I posted this on Toxic World thread too.

Merritmalloy - here are some of my bookmarked links. I had all my root canals removed three years ago because of the concerns with microbes and bacteria, it is a long haul to health, let me say. But these findings are thought-provoking and to me not worth the gamble to have a root canal. In fact, I am now certain the one dentist who did my work was so bent on me keeping this tooth I just had extracted that he removed the root canal part and used it to set the porcelain crown. I developed a cyst, you will see the mention of the bacterial cyst in the first link,

    http://www.thenaturalrecoveryplan.com/articles/research-cavitations.html

    http://www.clinicalthermography.co.nz/Site/Hidden_Items/Breast_Cancer_Prevention_-_It_s_Not_Too_Late_to_Change.ashx

And Dr. Rau - "In a study of 150 breast cancer patients by Dr. Rau, in Switzerland, 147 of them had had root canals on the same meridian as the breast cancer. The other 3 also had dental problems on the same meridian, but they were not caused by root canals, they were infections in the jawbone caused by some other dental procedure.

Another medical doctor reported a similar experience with his breast cancer patients"

Today I bought dandelion greens to make tea and salad and put in soup and my juices.  Now you say Yell  welllllllllllllll Frown now what do I do w it?

Today I bought fresh organic kale bcz the owner of health store, an old timed healer said IT IS THE ONLY FOOD THAT STOPS THE GROWTH OF CANCER.  Right place right time?  Yes, I think so, so passing it on.

Today I arranged to send a sample of my hair and will fill out the history for an analysis so the healer can set up a protocol.  Now that I give my power to her, but I will be testing me and I will be grateful to compare her choic es w mine and w the ones from bioenergetic test.

Today I needed to know if moving to the place with long-a*# boring driveway through field is what I need to do - we do now have the money to pay him, another sign that we are to do so.  But the isolation out there bothers me.  I found in the area, all these lovely country homes on registered wildlife habitats, classified forests, and very peaceful living w almost no vehicle traffic.  This is a place to heal, to meditate, to sleep w windows open and hear birds, to sing loud, to write my books, to write blogs, to garden. I feel taken care of by Universe, I am where I am supposed to be and have gone through all of this for some reason.

Hi Everyone. I belong here instead of the chemo/rad group, please let me in!!! I just had a UMX Thursday and I'm feeling fine, but still a little in denial. I really don't believe I have BC!

I was into eating healthy, herbs, ozone, and alternative treatments when I got this, and some kind of autoimmune disease they can't diagnose (high SED rate), AND 18 inches of my colon died (ischemia) and they don't know why! I had emergency surgery Dec 10 and have a stoma and poop bag now (sorry, YUK!) I'm planning on getting colon hooked back up the end of this month.

I like roasted dandelion tea. It tastes like more like coffee to me. I'm not sure if it's as healthy as raw, but it's a good coffee substitute.

For BC I've been using pau d'arco tea boiled 20 minutes, graviola, flax oil and curcumin (with turmeric) and I just ordered cordycepts pills. I just found this site and I'm looking forward to learning from everyone. My eyes burn and are blurry and I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can't read in here too long.

Nice to see people who have the guts to say "no" to the posion pushers and believe in natural cures. Oh yea, I'm starting to smoke pot again, after 40 years!!! I don't know if that's a good idea, but tonight before bed I'll give it a try. Has anyone else tried cannabis oil or raw juice?

    Lot's of love,

    Gina

    XO

Hi Not !  Come in and welcome !!  Poor you, that's a lot of surgeries in a short time Frown Lots of us had healthy lifestyles before dx; now our focus is to prevent a recurrence.  Some of us went the conventional way, and some others didn't, so we're a mixed bag and we just love each other.

Besides the good stuff you're taking, are you taking Vit D ?  We all agree that it's probably # 1 on our list.  I'm sorry about your eyes, I have some eye problems too, make sure you mention it to one of your docs, it could be a side effect to something, are you taking any meds ?

I wouldn't know where to start looking for pot Lol, but it sure sounds like a good idea to me Smile I don't know if you've seen these threads yet (they look inactive) ?  Just saw your thread, am sorry no one responded. Unfortunately, there's only a few natural girls left on this board, all the others left approx 6 months ago because of in-fighting.  Hopefully, they will return and new ones like you will be joining.

Lots of love to you too !

Hi Not - come over to the Alternative Health thread too, you can repost your hello there, a lot of conversing going on there too.  Good energy.

Not, What meds have you been taking, curious?  For how long? The Vitamin D3, I was told to keep taking 10,000 IUs a dy and I use a sublingual spray, or you can get a cream. How is your thyroid?   Symptoms of thyroid?  What toxins are you exposed to daily?  Water?  Do you have an alternatives md, osteopath, naturopath?  These are questions you will be asked.

QUESTION ANYONE - When I take the 3 of the d3 pills I vomit, don't know why. When ran out of spray so tool my white pills of 600 iu ea, it happened, anyone else?

    Pot comes in a juice?

Edited to add, marjoram is acousin of cannibis and marjoram oil aromatic, not to take interally, that is very relaxing.  I have some in my box in supp cabinet. Cool

    Hi Maude and Diane!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I can't keep up with my eyes this way, so one group of 3 is good for now.

Yes, I started taking D3 powder 5,000 mg from my new doc who has a natural sup store, but I learned that D is a hormone in a closed feedback loop, so it doesn't need to be supplimented! It's not a vitamin it's a hormone. But I just changed to this nice new doc, there's all this hype about it, and she's so nice, so I take it. Why the interest in D all of a sudden? It must be money somewhere.

I've seen women fight. I'm glad I missed it!

I may go the poison route also. I'm not against anything. I'm for everything and everyone! It's all good. It takes two to tango. And a good tango is fun now and then. I don't take anything personally and I love everyone too. XO

I'm eating whatever I want now, junkfood, booze, candy, hot dogs, etc. just to get it out of my system. I prefer the good stuff. I make kefir with water, and kombucha with juice, to get the bubbles, and kimchi to get the spicy probiotics.

I have lots of viruses (EBV, CMV) and heard some cancers are caused by viruses (BC from HPV), that's why I take all those antiviral herbs.

Here's a short video on raw juiced cannabis curing cancer. Too bad it's not legal so studies could be done! The gov. wants to patent every plant with high CBDs. We need a new gov. (Ron Paul).
