Hi, Erika 8,there is another exercise thread on this board, and one of the ladies describes cleaning as "clean and sculpt." If you are shopping it is called "shop and sculpt. "" Love this, because any type of movement is exercise!!!!!! I am sure you burned alot of calories cleaning. I went to the gym this morning, elyptical and stationary bike. Hoping to walk later. Have a great day!!!!!!

I may not be able to keep my goal of no eating after 7 tonight...I had a cavity and a crown this afternoon ...I have a baked sweet potatoe in the oven but not sure it will be done before 7..but maybe it will just be pushed back to 7:30 or 8...for tonight... my tongue is still numb from the dentist but hopefully it will wake up soon.:)
Erika8...doesn't it feel great to get some of the spring cleaning done??? I doubt I'll make my walk outside tonight so perhaps I'll turn on some music and jump around a bit......
Katly..you are always so encouraging...thanks..
Have a great day tomorrow all.. ..

I hope your mouth is feeling better ATeamNana.....going to the dentist is such a pain, but you gotta take care of those choppers!!
Erika8, house cleaning is one of those things that is good for you to keep moving around and then you get to see & live in your hard work. There is always a sense of accomplishment.
Kathy, keep up the encouragement and your hard work. I'm sure you are seeing great results and feeling so much better!!
My first day of work went better than I could have hoped. I missed caring for home care patients, and it was like riding a bike, you don't forget. I have been caring for the little ones for a while now so this will be a nice change. I brought my healthy food for lunch & snacks. I'm going to make this my routine. When I did this in this job in the past, I never brought my food & always ate out or drove through so I know my habits have changed. I did the treadmill after dinner, only 25 min but at least I did it!!
I'm hoping to walk the track tomorrow after work if the wind slows down....have a great day tomorrow and restful evening all!!!! (((hugs))))

AteamNana!!! Ouch, hope you feel better soon. You need to eat at whatever time you can!! Tenaj, You are a wonderful caregiver for all ages, during all my medical treatment, every nurse I had was so wonderful, I love you guys!!!!! Keep up the good work everyone!!!! Miss all the other posters on here as well. Can't wait to read your posts again. Hugs to all, Kathy

I do feel so much better now. I was so tensed up. I put heating pad on right shoulder. The anticipation is always worse than the actual work. My baked sweet potatoe was good. I did put some brown sugar n butter on it but that is all I had and now heading to bed. Thanks for all the concern. I love coming here it always comforts me:). Janet. So glad you are liking the new job. Marsha

Ladies,
It's been awhile since I've checked in...I've read the last few pages of the this thread and am amazed at the "close knit" ties you have already made with each other...it's so cool! I love how you are all so encouraging about exercising, eating right, and just being there...I just really comes across as "girlfriends" chatting and having some fun...I love that!
I'm still doing my boot camp....about 3 times a week...that is all I have been doing, but I need to get out there and walk..maybe even start to jog! Yikes! I have no excuses, it's been absolutely beautiful outside...I mean, here I am up and on the computer...when really, I could be outside enjoying the natural vitamin D and moving my arse a bit more!
Geez, how do you keep motivated? The scale hasn't moved for me although feeling stronger is a plus. I'm still paranoid about LE, but have been using my compression sleeve for all workouts. I think I"m in a funk...any of you every feel this way???
Thanks friends!
Tori
-
Hi, Tori, So good to see you!!! I just love your arse word!!!!!! Wow, you are doing boot camp , that is amazing. My future DIL is doing that also and it is hard, so good for you. Hey, don't worry about the scale, muscle weighs more than fat and it is how you feel that is important. Let's just keep on keeping on. You are doing great. MY LE, flares up every once in awhile and I am always wearing my sleeve. I think it is just a chronic condition, but we can keep it under control, I guess. Since I have moved toCA, it is better, but I do need to see a new LE therapist. I also take a maintenance antibiotic to keep the cellulitis away. It is stressful I know!!!! We can certainly encourage each other!!! Hey, again you are doing great!!!!! have a great day, friend!!!!!

The wagon dumped me off and left me behind. Just a rough few days of eating where mostly I didn't track stuff as we were out and about and that type of thing.
Today is DH's birthday so we went out for lunch and I didn't eat THAT much, I didn't think, but came away from it feeling icky and full. Tonight, I think I get a salad for dinner and that's probably about it. We'll see. I've been feeling slugish today anyway, hopefully walking while DS is at soccer practice this afternoon should help, we'll see.
So much going on with you all, keep up the good work and I'll be back in full swing soon.
-
Hi, Tenaj, My DIL is so excited as well, I had two boys and she has a son. We both can't wait to go girlie shopping. Want to come?? CookieMonster, Hope you feel better soon, lots of stuff going around. Tell your hubby Happy Birthday and I sure hope you can get your walk in, but most importantly just take care of yourself. Hugs to all!!! Kathy
-
Back from boot camp and ended up taking the dogs out for a 1 1/2 mile walk too! It was just too nice outside to not let them get some exercise too! Today has been a good day...
Now, time to relax...
Kathy-How was the bike ride? I'm thinking about getting a bike as well...any suggestions?
Have a GREAT night all!
Tori
-
Hi, Tori, the bike ride was great, thanks for asking. We have been riding the same route for about a month now. We ride for about 2 hours with one or two short stops, our derriers get a little sore, he,he,!!!!! We just have cruisers, no gears, hubby wants to get a bike with gears sometime, but not me!!!!Costco has a nice selection. We bought our bikes at a local bike shop, good prices!!!!! Wow, you did boot camp and a walk. you are great!!!!!!
-
Tori & Kathy what a great job on the exercise!!!!
CookieMonster, good to hear from you and hope you enjoyed your DH birthday. It is very important to enjoy life and every day we are blessed to be here. There is always the next day to improve if need be. It's great that you are still walking. This will make you stronger and have better endurance.
I'm off today, I only work part time, which is great because it gives me time to do things for me. I'm going up on the treadmill now & then looking forward to some shopping. Possibly car shopping. I need one with the type of job I have, I have a 13 yo SUV that is in great shape but only gets maybe 12 mpg.
It feels great to be thinking positively toward the future!!! You ladies are wonderful and an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work. I miss everyone who hasn't posted in a bit.
Have a wonderful day :-) -
Good morning, Tenaj!!! I am sure you are enjoying your day off, you deserve it. I just love your posts, so kind and so encouraging and so positive!!!!!!! I love this thread, everyone here is just wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with your car shopping, with gas the way it is, I hope you find just the right one. I hope you all have a wonderful day, wouldn't it be fun to somehow plan an outing somewhere in the middle of the country?? Would love to meet all of you in person some day. Kathy

Good morning all!
Well, I got a 1 mile jog in and then walked another half mile or so. It's good to get my arse up and doing something good for me. It's a great feeling! (When I say jog, don't be too impressed. I'm a big girl, so my idea of jogging may be walking for some! Ha! Ha!)
I have to work today (I'm part time too! I work M, W, F) and then will do my boot camp later on today.
Kathy, thanks for the suggestions on a bike. I don't mind if it has gears or not, I just think it would be fun to do again!
Tenaj-Enjoy your day off. I may be weird, but I like to car shop. I'ts fun to haggle! Have fun!
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Hi, everyone, I did the elyptical and stationary bike today and just came back from a long walk. I feel so much better when I walk outside. I just read an article about a poor young woman in her early 40's who suffers from clinical depression. She had been on many different antidepressants and they would only work short term and then she would have to get a new one to try. One of her doctors finally said, try walking everyday in the sunshine, (unfortunately the sun does not shine everyday everywhere), for 30 minutes. She said it has saved her life and she is now into jogging. But she has to do it every day, or she feels depressed. I did have to take antidepressants for awhile, when I was going through Chemo, but eventually they stopped working as well, and they raised my blood pressure. Whatever works, is the key to a good and happy life after BC. I also feel anxious and depressed sometimes, so I am going to keep walking!!!!!
Hugs to you all!!!!

What a gorgeous day we had today, Kathy! It was beautiful. This morning I had a routine dentist appointment, so I walked there and back (only a couple of blocks each way. Then went and met DS and his playdate and his mom at a local park, we chatted for quite a while and the boys played. Then we ran some errands, then came home and did some stuff around the house that was in need of doing. I don't know that I'll get in a walk today, but definitely tomorrow.
On the food front, today's been a much better day than the past few. There's still dinner to come, but it's not going to be too bad, I don't think.
Wishing you all happiness for lots of various reasons - new jobs, days off, exercise completed, you name it!! This is such a positive thread, let's keep it going!
-
I'm so excited!!! Bought a new car, I may have it by Saturday or early next week. It's going to be perfect with all the traveling I will be doing on my new job. I've calculated how many extra patients I have to see to pay for the car payments. He-He....
It feels so good to be thinking & doing things that involve the future. These past 10 months have been so consuming & life changing. Im glad I feel well enough to be working & doing things to take care of myself. You ladies are wonderful, I enjoy staying in touch with you.
Kathy, I love your idea about planning an outing. It would be so cool to meet. This horrible disease is soooooo depressing....you went through so much. But look where you are now, living near your boys, planning a wedding, preparing for the birth of your granddaughter.....WOW...that is so great, your doing such a great job of excersing and taking care of yourself. You are my hero!!!
CookieMonster, good job on the eatting and walking to the dentist. Sounds like you had fun with the play date. I miss those days.... I loved doing things like that with my kids. Looks like I have to wait to be a grandma down the road!!
Erika, I love talking walks with my dog. I'm such a dog person. I have a retriever mix that I rescued at 10 weeks old. I should say he rescued me!!!! He is so sweet & loving.
Have a great evening everyone!!!
Janet -
Hi everyone...I need to go back and read all the posts which I have not had time to do yet to catch up on what everyone has been up to.
I'm trying a new strategy tomorrow...I went and bought some protein drinks similiar to slim fast but it is the generic kind. I plan on drinking one of them instead of my moto mart latte I have in the morning. I have sucessfully kept pretty much to the no eating after seven, but I want to cut back more. It is really hard since I work in an office that someone is always bringing something.
I may try to drink protein drink for lunch as well and still have decent supper meal. I would really like to drop 15 lbs by the end of May but I have really been slacking in the exercise department:(
Tomorrow is another day..and I will try to do better.......

Congrats Tenaj! New cars are always so much fun!
Cookie monster--wow! walking to the dentist? If it were me, I'd be running away!
My boot camp is about a mile from my house, so I was thinking that I should be walking there and walking home..kinda silly to be driving back and forth...
Erika and Tenaj--I love my fur babies too! I never had human children, so my doggies are my babies! They love on me when no one else will!
Have a great night!

Tori girl. What is boot camp???
Cookiemonster. Wow walking to the dentist. The going to the park sounds like so much more fun.
teenaj. So happy you like the new job. Sounds like you are enjoying it.
Kathy. A baby girl?? How fun. We have one son and he has four boys. Don't thinK I'm gonna get that girl so I spoil my DIL.
Erika. I'm a dog lover also. We have a schnauzer terrier mix and he is rotten to the core.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow ladies.
Marsha -
ATeamNana: Boot camp is a combination of cardio, weight training and plyometrics all wrapped into a one hour class...it's pretty intense!
-
Wow. Good for you. I did a Zumba water class last spring. It was fun but not intense like boot camp sounds. Have a great day!!!
-
Morning everyone!.....................I have some catching up to do also! Been working more hours and coming home tired! Missed my walk on Tues, but got to leave work a bit early yesterday and walked at the track. I had the time to walk 3 miles. Can't believe I am saying this but it was easier to walk 3 miles when it was chillier------it was in the 70s yesterday but I was sweating by the end of that walk!
Hi Tori........good to see you again.......way to go with keeping at the boot camp! Can relate to getting into a funk at times. I was thinking yesterday how good the walking feels when I get out there and do it, but was also thinking how stubborn this tummy roll is-----have to remind myself that its still only been about 2 months that I have been walking regularly. Got to keep persevering!!!!!
Well, drat.....I have got to get ready for work....will try and get on later today.......thinking of you all and hoping everyone will have a great day! judy
