"Girlie Secrets" - Questions only Women Can Answer

yeah - at least when I was a kid that was a trainer or training bra. Is it still called that?
but what are Candies (#5)?
-
Candies were high heeled sandels with wooden heels I believe.
I too received one of those "first period" kits with the annoying belt. Ladies today have it sooo much easier.
I don't get #8 about the red lipstick.
-
I made the assumption about the red lipstick that it could be:
On your teeth
On your eating/drinking utensils
On your lover
None of which might actually be the "answer". -
All of the above could be embarrassing, but I was thinking of how it can get on your teeth.
It was a training bra when I was a kid. Probably still is. Can any moms of pre-teen girls tell us?

My husband is trying to come up with guy secrets, but failing hilariously.
He just asked "What age of guy is most likely to walk around buck naked in the men's locker room?"
I got the answer: The old guys. He was foiled again.
*laugh*

i just remembered this little memory from high school.
I used to walk the 2.2 miles to school (all up hill of course).. and my period started on the way. I stopped at a 7-ll and bought a small box of tampons, and crammed them into my purse, which was straw with 2 handles and a clasp at the top.
I put my purse in the middle of a conference table that we all sat around in history class. The history teacher asked if anyone had an extra pen, and I said "I DO~~~~!!!"
I reached for one of the handles of my purse and jerked it toward me and all the tampons flew out all over the table.... I about died. One's period was so embarrassing back then. Everyone laughed so hard and I just wanted to dissolve into invisibility.

Oh my gosh, I would have wanted the earth to open up and swallow me!
Thanks for sharing that. I'm so glad that we are grown up now and of an age when stuff like that doesn't bother us. (Or at least not as much.)
-
Apple - those high school period stories still give me the chills! (OK, they make me laugh, too, but I can imagine how mortified you were!)
12. Describe Barbie's nipples. - Invisible?
17. How does the doctor warm up the speculum before a pelvic exam? - I guess I shouldn't admit this, but I really don't know because I've never wanted to look...
20. What's a girl's first bra called, before she even has breasts? - Around my house when growing up, they were called "littlest angel." -
Hi, Jan:
Barbie has no nipples, but guys don't usually know that.
The doctor usually runs the speculum under warm water, but someone posted that her doc had a special heated drawer. (Wow!)
My first bra was called a "training bra." The littlest angel is a new one for me!
Did you know the other answers? How many did you get? Ask a guy you know (husband/boyfriend/brother/son/etc) and compare your scores. Let us know!
-
Apple: I had a straw purse exactly like the one you describe. It was in the early 80s.

Windlass, I didn't think I remembered Barbie having nipples, but wasn't sure if they'd added more detail to her anatomy since the last time I'd seen one, about 25 years ago. And the haircolor question - no clue. I've never colored my hair at home besides some highlights, and I think there was one bottle of stuff, some powder to mix with it, and a packet of shampoo. So I didn't know two of the answers and managed to guess correctly about Barbie. I never heard the term "training bra" til I was in maybe 5th grade, and couldn't imagine how a bra could train someone's breasts to grow!
My husband wouldn't know the answer to even one of the questions, but he'd make something up that I'm sure I couldn't post... ; ) And with the exception of #19, I'm not sure my 29 year old and very married son would know any of the other answers either!
-
Hi, Jan: Then it works! Care to post an alternative to the hair color question that would have more universal girl-awareness?
-
about those Barbies.
I am oldest of nine kids (5 bros included) and my neighbor's two boys and us were all best friends. We had enough kids to play hotbox.. have a little baseball game, run races and cross under the street in the sewers. I fancied myself a tomboy and i don't think anywould would have given me a Barbie unless they found it practically brand new at a garage sale. Somehow i collected about 10 of them .. The boys and I totally mutilated them.. cut their hair. put indian tattoos on their skin, pulled off their heads, cut off their hands and then burnt them in the trash can and then buried them to hide the evidence. Back then we burned our own trash and would haul unburnables to the neighborhood dump about 4 miles away.. the BEST day trip ever.
Somewhere on the east side of the Kansas City metro (1900 east 54th) in the now crime compromised, ghetto side, 10 Barbies, sadly mutilated, lie beneath the dirt. almost a whole foot down.

Windlass, I think the hair color question is a good one, just one I didn't know. I've done a lot of strange things to my hair but I've never colored it myself because I was afraid it would look worse than what I was already stuck with...I let a stylist do that once and never again because it looked so bizarre!
