Hey everyone..........took a break from walking today.  We had been over to Columbus shopping with DD.  Got home and found that we had left just before some really big storms started rolling through.  I had all intentions of just walking here close to home but it got stormy and then the sirens started going off.  Nothing really but a storm, but they just dont take any chances around here anymore.  If something is spotted anywhere in the county those tornado sirens start blaring.Everything seems calm now.

Sounds like you did good kindergarden.  Was the shower fun?   I asked my husband to try one of the cookies before I set them out for customers,  He did, before thinking that he had given up sweets for lent-----I led him astray!   He is rooting for all the big 10 teams right now.  Ah, looks like Purdue just lost to Kansas---it was close.

Hope everyone had a good weekend------and may the week ahead be a good one too!   I will be back out there walking tomorrow, it will feel good after my easy day today.

We were tired after taking all 4 grandsons to Monkee Joes...(which is an indoor play place with blow ups that you jump in)  The boys are 7, 5 and twins 2 1/2...took them to lunch then back home and took little boys home for afternoon nap and took older boys to our house until 5:00 PM.   They are so much fun but definitely wore me out.

Today I ate much better....and cleaned house for a couple hours....so at least I did not sit around all weekend.

It would be awesome if we could all walk together...  That recipe for potato dumplings sounds really good...I have never heard of that but I can't wait to try it.

HI to all .....Sounds like we are all making some progress...:)

My son coaches also....Head Women's Volleyball coach at the same college I work at:) We had one son and he and his wife blessed us with those precious 4 grandsons...I was hoping for a grandaughter one day but since the last round gave them twins, I think I'll have to wait for a great granddaughter...haha

Hi AteamNana..........I think you did get your workout!  Just keeping track of 2 1/2 year old twins would do it.  Sounds like a fun day.

I think we are all anxious to try the potato dumplings.  I was scouring the grocery ads this morning looking to see if any place had a nice chuck roast on sale!

I have thought about asking at my onc's office if they know of some other bc patients who would like to walk .  Maybe they would let me put some kind of bulletin up in the office.  Might ask the nurse when I go in for labs in a few weeks.

Take care-------here's to having a successful week, with our eating and our exercise!

Good evening ladies!!! Just finished delish pot roast & dumpling left overs for dinner.....best I ever made, I used my le cruset Dutch oven for the first time to make this dish, it came out very well. My mom would be proud. :-) ...just a tip... 5 lbs makes way too much...cut that in half.(although my sister says they freeze really good) you have to make sure you use enough flour, they shouldn't be too wet while you roll them. After they float, cook 2 min with a rolling boil.

My daughter loved them, we had a great weekend. I was not good eatting, I'm not going on the scale for a few days....I worked today with over time for sports physicals, so didn't have time to walk. Tomorrow is my last day at work and then coworkers & I are going out for dinner & a few drinks. So I guess I'll have to resume my exercise & healthy eatting on Wednesday.

Kathy you sound like your having fun & doing great with exercising where ever you go. That's GREAT!

Jaytee & Nana sounds like you had a great weekend too...

Stay well all & keep up the work & effort :-)

Hi everyone, welcome back to your normal routine Kindergarten. I've been super good lately on the food front. DS hasn't had soccer practice this week yet, but I walked (only for 30 min.) though after work yesterday while he was in an after school class. I feel like my shape is constantly changing but I don't know if it's from surgery recovery, Tamoxifen, or diet. I suspect it's a combination of the three.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hi, CookieMonster, I know what you mean about our body shape constantly changing. Since stopping aromasin, I am not as hungry as before, but I still have my belly fat, which I hope will change with exercise and better nutrition!  I did not exercise as I should have when I was going through treatment. You ladies are just wonderful continuing and maintaining during treatment!!!! Our bodies, because we have gone through cancer, have experienced many changes, but we are all on the right track and we will see great results. I am a late starter but you ladies are keeping me motivated!!!!!

Hi everyone!! CookieMonster I know what your talking about with the changing body, I'm not that far out from my exchange so things have been very interesting.

Kindergarten, I know what you mean about eatting out. Last night we went to Applebee's & it was tough. I picked a burger, didn't eat the bread but I did have some French fries. Few beers too because it was happy hour 2fers. It was fun, I haven't drank in months...

Took a walk today with my DH & dog at a campground we stay every summer that is near our house that is right on the ocean. It was a bit foggy but still nice to enjoy the fresh air. It's been so warm and the water temps are cold that we've been getting fog. You can drive 1 mile in land and the sun is shinning!!! When I came home I worked in some flower beds cleaning them up. I love doing that. This is a great time as everything is starting to peek out of the ground. I have many perennials that I love to transplant. I'm pacing myself though, my body & joints are not what they were....just glad they I got out there.

Thinking about you wonderful ladies...Kathy you may be a late starter, but you are in inspiration & give me motivation also!! Have a great evening!! ((((hugs))))

Hi guys!!! Just got back from a walk at our local track with my DH. This was our first time on the local track, wow!!!! Very nice with the rubber...now that my DH ankle is healed its been nice to have someone to walk with.

Kathy, I never had garlic fries but they sound great!! I start my job on Monday, still waiting to hear who I report to & if I should wear street clothes or uniform....trying to take all things in stride these days. I had my follow up with the PS today, I'm to finish my 2 days left of antibiotics & there's no sign of cellulitis. He wants to see me again about a week after no antibiotics. I hope it's all gone!! I really want to move on...

Have a wonderful evening & stay motivated ALL!!!!

Hi everybody!   tenaj......thats great news from the doctor!  Sounds like you are on the mend!  The track surface does feel good.  I notice a huge difference walking there as compared to the bike path.   The bike path has better scenery but my feet feel better on the track!   Glad that your DH's ankle is better.  I have been gathering the ingredients to make the potato dumplings.  Can't wait to try that recipe, am hoping to make it this weekend.  I was having a little trouble finding farina in the grocery stores around here but found some yesterday in a little shop that sells bulk spices and baking supplies.   I think my family will really enjoy it.

kindergarden.........thought the garlic fries sounded delicious too!  I am a hamburger and french fries kind of girl.   When I was a little girl, I think that is all I ever ordered when Dad took us out to eat.   That is definitely the All American meal.   I bet it felt good to get back on the bikes.  I took my walk this morning before going to work.  It did feel better in the cooler part of the day although by the time I was done I was sweating---could tell it was going to be quite warm again today.  We are having quite a spell of warm weather, its just not like any March we have had in such a long time.  Everyone is beginning to wonder if we are going to get a drastic change  next month.  Never can tell around here.  I need to get my shorts out and see what fits but then again I'm not sure if I should put my warm clothes away just yet

Hi to Cookiemonster, Erika, Ateamnana, Blueyez..........hope everyone is doing well.  One more day til the weekend.........hope you will all have a good day tomorrow and wishing everyone good weather for walking!    judy

Things sure do change as we get older!!!! We just came back from a youth baseball game, it was freezing!! You are all having warmer weather than we are!!! That is great, you deserve it, enjoy!!!!!! Hi and Good night to everyone and wish you all a wonderful weekend!!!!!

    Hello!!!

tenaj...............thank you so much for the dumpling recipe.  My big sis brought my Dad up for a visit today and I made a pot roast and your dumplings.  We enjoyed them very much!!! Dad kept talking about what a nice dinner it was.   I halved the recipe and it still made a lot of them.   Am thinking that when I reheat them that I might melt some butter and saute them in a pan with some onions like I do with pierogis sometimes.    Sister had to have the recipe.  Thanks again!!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.  I didnt get a chance to walk today but I will be out there tomorrow.   We were a bit rainy today anyway and it did cool us down.  I enjoyed the warm weather we had this week but decided that I am not ready for mid 80's just yet.  Cant believe we were warmer than you were in Ca, kindergarden!

Have a great day tomorrow everyone.....thinking of you all and wishing you well.     judy

Jaytee I am so happy you made the dumplings :-)....they are delicious sliced and sautéed with butter, the onions sound good, I will have to try that next time. That was how my mother loved the left overs heated up in butter til they turned brown & crispy. Glad your family enjoyed.

This weather is crazy, it has been much warmer & dryer than usual. I got to work outside again today, work on my herb garden and put out some lawn decorations. My sage & rosemary lived through the winter. Looking forward to the tomatoes's this summer.

Kathy, how's the dress shopping going? How soon is the wedding?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend..wishing everyone well..(((hugs)))

Hi Janet!    This weather has been crazy!  Things are blooming in the yard that never bloom in March.  That is amazing that you had a rosemary winter over.  We have a big one that DH winters in the garage every year.  Seems to do the best there, gets too warm and dry in the house for it.   With our mild winter this year a rosemary might have survived ...but you never know what to expect in Ohio.   Love cooking with herbs.  I don't remember my Mom using  many fresh herbs, now I dont think I could survive without them.    It will be so nice to have fresh basil growing again, and cilantro too.  Didnt like that one too well at first but it has grown on me and now I get a craving for it at times.    I need to get out in my flower beds too, the ground is wet and the weeds are easy to pull out right now.   We seem to have an abundance of chickweed this year----I wage war with that lttle weed!!   A few hours in the garden and you do feel like you have had a workout.  We cleaned out the shed the other evening, that was another workout!  Feel like I am getting ready for planting season.    Will be so nice to see flowers again!

Have a great day tomorrow and a great week at the new job!           judy

Hi everyone. I've been  BUSY, but am now on Spring Break!!

I was down weight wise-just a bit this week (lost the same amount that I was UP the previous week). That was on Thurs. and just for the heck of it (I rarely do this), I weighed myself this morning and was another 1.5 pounds down from where I was on Thursday. Then today we had people over and I wasn't so careful about what I ate. Tomorrow is focus day for me, but a fair amount of eating out, including tea.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Good morning ladies...er afternoon!    The day is just going by so quickly today.   Cookie, good for you, its nice to see the scale going in the direction we want........just keep at it.  I know I have said it before but just keeping at the walking no matter what, is doing me wonders, I feel like I am really developing a great habit that I will finally keep.   I gave up too easily before when I wanted the unrealistic results in too short a time.   I have a lifetime of bad habits to change and I am not expecting myself to change them all overnight.    Have a good and fun spring break with your kids, Cookiemonster!

Hi Kathy...........hope you are having a wonderful day today.  I went out to the track to walk, and DH and DD came along.  That was nice........we went and got a cup of coffee afterwards.   Going to be heating up those leftovers pretty soon.   Looking forward to that.

    Have a lovely day everyone..............judy

Good evening everyone! Congratulations CookieMonster on the lost weight, what a good feeling to see the scale move in the right direction. Unfortunately for me it's like a see saw.....but I'm not giving up!!! I have much better eatting & exercising habits than I ever did, so I figure my body will get it eventually! Right??? I look forward to hearing from you guys it is very encouraging. It motivates me everyday so that I can share with you something positive I did to get healthy.

I start my new job tomorrow and am excited as I feel like this is a new challenge to keep me busy and moving forward. I am packing a cooler bag so I keep myself well hydrated. I'm packing a protein bar for lunch, banana and yogurt for snacks.

Jaytee, I agree with you about the new habits and I am so guilty about wanting instant results. Glad you had a nice walk with your family.

Kathy, good luck with the dress shopping. The wedding sounds like it will be beautiful!! What a lovely Memoral Day weekend!!

Have a great week!! Enjoy & be good to yourselves!! :-)

I cleaned out my hanging clothes in my closet today I put all my "size smaller" clothes in a big box and organized the ones I can wear. It was just 15 - 20 lbs ago that I was wearing these clothes I loved and had to pack away. I refuse to get rid of them. Great motivation for me to get back in gear. I did take a walk with hubby. Went to my sisters awhile to visit And I actually had some willpower. They all ordered dairy queen and I did not. I'm trying my best to not eat after 7 and definitely did not need a moo latte:)

Good luck tomorrow tenaj. Cookie monster. Yeah on the weight loss. Kathy. What fun a wedding at a winery. I'm sure that will be lovely this time of year. Jaycee. A walk and then coffee sounds wonderful. I'm a big coffee drinker. Too bad I like the lattes and such but am trying to learn to drink it black without all the added sugar and cream. I am not a water drinker and keep telling myself to drink water drink water. I need to listen to myself haha. Erika8. Hi to you also. I am hoping I can keep up the walking also. . Sorry if I missed anyone. Have a great day tomorrow everyone.
