Hi all, it's a lovely day in Florida today. I went for a lovely swim in our pool. The water is 92 degrees, it felt so nice. I still have the caugh that will not stop, but the warm sun felt good.
I have a question, is there any chance to cough is from the AL I'm on? I got a new prescription of the generic a month ago, and have been hacking my lungs out ever since.
-
Kira, I really have no idea but hope that someone can help.
Bren, I would LOVE to go again! Loved the restaurant!
-
Kira - are you on any blood pressure meds - they can make you cough continuously - I had every kind of allergy to AIs but never had the cough - poor you, hope you find an answer soon.
-
Bren - hope NOTL is on again this year too - this time I'm going to go down to the Falls to meet up with you guys - guess we should let Linda decide if she wants to do this again......
-
I want to come, but lack of leave and money might spoil the dream.
I'm in a lot of pain with my back and hip - very worried - I'm going to persist with the physio for the next week or so and I do have an onc appt on Mar 14th for my Zometa, so I can discuss it with him then if it hasn't resolved.
Hope you are all safe from those nasty tornados and other wild weather
((((((((HUGS))))))))

They are saying we may have snow flurries tomorrow too. Don't like the weather here ... don't worry, it'll change the next day.
Have I mentioned that I like retro and vintage stuff? My Subaru is a 1999 Forester ... with 41,000 miles on it. I love it and expect to keep it for the rest of my life ... and then leave it to my daughter. Funny how many of us have Subarus!
I am grumpy. Have been grumpy all day. No reason ... just am. The dogs are out barking at nothing right now ... I think I'll go join them and get it out of my system

-
The movie was great. Nathon was delightful. 3D is much better than the last time I saw a movie in 3-D.
Poor Nathon is sick. He was home four days this week.
-
Hey Susie, that doesn't sound good. Keep us posted.
-
Thanks Athena - I do have a very bad back - osteoarthritis all down my spine. This is not an usual ocurrence, but it does usually get better sooner. I'm staying home tomorrow and will be calling the physio early to move my appt to his suburban rooms (I did have one for the city for the afternoon). On a bright note, I don't have pain when resting - sitting or lying down - so that's something.
-
Hope it's just the osteoarthritis.
-
Susie-I hope your back and hip are feeling better soon. I'm glad you can at least get some relief when you are resting.
Mary
-
Thankyou Mary - I'm looking forward to the physio treatment tomorrow. It really does feel like my classic bad back but you never know. Been googling bone mets symptoms but as my GP says - resting pain is one big factor and I don't have that. I can remember once years ago, hardly being able to walk after my back went out - this isn't quite that bad but close. It did feel really good after the treatments last week but the last one was Wednesday and it really started to get bad on Friday night. Sitting here there's no pain at all but if I get up I'm really stiff. I'll have to be a good girl and do my exercises faithfully - did them 3 times today.
-
Good Afternoon Ladies!
I've been busy this morning ... went grocery shopping and walked the dogs. It was very cold and windy out, but they don't care!
Rabbit .. How's the grumpiness today? You made me smile. Some days I'm so irritable and I just don't know why. We have snow forecast for tonight too.
Rosemary ... Glad you enjoyed the movie.
Susie .. Hope you're feeling better today.
Sandy .. Sure hope we all get together again this year. I had so much fun with all of you at NOTL.
I need to do a few chores before Tim gets home later today. Hope everyone has a good day.
hugs,
Bren
PS .. I have great news .. I've lost another few pounds and I'm down 30 pounds now!
-
Wow, Bren!! You go girl!! You lost it and I gained it!
-
Bren ... way to go! I bet all those walks with your doggies are helping ... do you walk them on leash or are you able to let them run loose? I had no problem with the weight thing when I was single. It's the darn having to cook dinner every night whether I really want it or not that has been my downfall. I need to just start cooking stuff I don't like.
The grump is gone. We had a cop drive down our little road last night shining his spotlight around. Have no idea what that was all about. Maybe the neighbors reported some crazy person outside howling and barking.

Rosemary ... I haven't seen a movie in 3D for ages. Glad you and Nathon had a good time.
Susie ... hope you get your back to stop hurting!
Waving at Barbara and Athena and Kira and Mary and Sandy and everybody else too!
Need to go tell DH to start thinking about where he wants to go for dinner. I always like to give him choices even if me cooking isn't going to be one of them

-
Just got done making some chicken soup. I added spinach to it for added veg power. The kitchen smells so good, also have some home made bread in the bread machine starting to bake.
Bren so jealous how I wish it was me 30 pounds lighter.
Rabbit glad the grumps are done with.
Susieq58 hope the back feels better soon.
-
I love the way baking bread smells!
-
Bren:
Good for you - wish it was me losing the 30 lbs. - I've put on 15 in the last few months and going to Dr. tomorrow to have thyroid checked out - from the way my collarbone has disappeared in the last year or so pretty sure what the diagnosis is going to be - always something isn't it?
Barb - if you lose weight we won't be able to find you in the NOTL picture this year - you'll have disappeared!
-
No Sandy, last year I was lighter than I had been since junior high. I gained it all back and then some. You'll see plenty of me!
Wabbit, glad the blues have fled. I love weekends because I don't have to be at my job. Monday looms.
-
Thanks you guys for all your support!
Rabbit ... If Tim was home every night it would be very hard for me to count calories. With him gone most of the week, I can eat what I want when I want. He likes regular home-cooked meals and dessert when he's home. That's probably why it's taken me a year to lose the weight.
Kira .. your dinner sounds wonderful .. love the smell of baking bread.
Sandy .. hope all goes well with your doctor visit tomorrow.
Barb .. I'm with Sandy on this one ... if you get any smaller we won't be able to see you!
Susie .. hope you're feeling better.
It's cold and windy, with snow predicted for tonight. Geez .. I was fooled into believing spring was just about here. When do we turn our clocks ahead?
hugs,
Bren
PS .. Just googled daylight savings time ... it's next weekend on the 11th. Yay!!
-
Rabbit .. I try to walk the dogs in the fields every day. They have over an acre fenced, but don't want to play in there. I can walk Tank without a leash because he comes when I call him. Maggie has to be leashed because if she sees a deer, she gone like a flash and won't come back. It's really easy walking them at the same time with only one on a leash.
hugs,
Bren
-
Thanks girls - feeling a bit better in that the constipation from pain meds is cleared but I'm still in a lot of pain. I called the physio and left a message - he starts at 8:30, so I'll be showered and dressed ready for him hopefully to say "come now" when I call then. I did sleep well and wasn't in pain lying in bed.
-
Good morning, all!
Suzy, I hope physio worked its magic and you're feeling better today.
Bren, good on your weight loss! And huge congrats on the other effort! I got your note and all I have to say is "you go, girl!!!" I'm so happy!
I'd say NOTL is a must. If Linda doesn't want us invading her home this year we can alternate locations. I'd be happy to host it here in Maryland.
Speaking of Maryland, one of our county execs was indicted for corruption. He 'allegedly' used County police officers and vehicles to arrange sexual liaisons in local parking lots, among other things. EWWWWWW. I'm not saying which political party he belongs to because it doesn't matter. Corruption crosses all genders and party lines.
Today's observation: If you drink coffee with Pringles Light (made with Olestra), your mouth gets all gummy. Don't do it.

-
Hi Scoot!
Glad to hear you got my note. I'm really trying. I'd be very happy to have NOTL in Maryland this year. I could easily make the drive in a day. We just have to convince our Canadian friends to come south this year.
Don't think I would like Pringles light ... and certainly not with coffee. Maybe a nice big donut instead!
I'm so happy, I got a bunch of work in this morning. So I better get busy.
hugs to all,
Bren
-
Voting for NOTL in Maryland - selfishly, and hoping our Canadian friends can come. Wish I could host in DC but my shoebox apt wouldn't work. :-)
-
No magic this time, I'll just have to patient. Think I'll have another day off work and try to rest more. At least it doesn't hurt when he massages all down my spine and I have slept well.
I wanted NOTL to be in NOTL cos I love it there, but I definitely won't be able to afford it anyway.
-
Hi Friends!
Let's do both .. have a gathering in Maryland and another in Canada! I don't know if I can afford both, but I'll try.
Scoot .. would we do an overnight in MD? Are there hotels close by? I think you're about six hours from me, so not too bad for a days drive.
Susie .. hope you're feeling better soon.
hugs,
Bren
-
Scoot, olestra makes me sooooo sick!
I am game for anywhere! Maybe not two though. DC is a cool place. though. (Semi-native lived there from 69-96).
-
I'll be there in spirit. Too far and too expensive.
Mary
-
Steve insists for me not to give up on coming over - you never know he might actually work and get some money

Off to the doc to get a certificate for work. Might get him to give me tomorrow off too. It would be nice if he gave me a cortisone shot in my hip but I doubt that will happen. It really feels inflamed.
