VEGAS here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't know most of you, but I don't live too far from Vegas, and would LOVE to come! I assume the weekend includes lots of good food?
(I'm a total foodie, and living in Southern Utah isn't conducive to my food lust) Purrs,
Jenn
-
Hooray!! Vegas!! So awesome we are on year 4!
Can't wait to see everyone!
Mommoose (omg- i love it!) it is good to have you here

-
Mpeaches -- the main food event is the Bellagio Buffet... which usually happens on Sunday. But it is all fun!
-
mpeaches - eat? What the heck is that? We drink our breakfast, lunch and dinner
-
MOM!!! OMG - you are finally here! Can't wait to see you and Cheryl again.
-
Mpeaches -- well, some of us eat, some of us drink
(And the rest do both!) -
hmmm...flagging this thread as a favorite....
-
Peaches - my dh may be driving me to Vegas again this year - he drops me off and does his mountain biking thing. If so, we could pick you up. We typically spend the night in St. George and then head into Vegas. So if we want to be in Vegas on Thursday then we will be in St. George on Wed night.
Of course this year I am trying to get a group of girls to start on Wednesday!!!

-
Peaches - My dh is not allowed to stay with me in Vegas! He knows this is the "girls" weekend. He has come around to say hi but I get rid of him FAST! So I will be staying in whatever hotel is selected and no....my dh can't even stay in the same hotel - I won't allow it.
-
Jancie - that is so sweet! I don't mind the drive from here at all, it's under 4 hours, and I would want to do some shopping (food!) in Vegas, so having a car would be convenient. Where do all the ladies usually stay?
Anticipatory purrs,
Jenn
-
Jenn - it all depends on which hotel is willing to give us the best rate. We stayed at the Mirage year 1 and year 3 - we were at Planet Hollywood year 2. We all love the Mirage and hopefully they will cut us another great deal again. The information about the hotel usually comes out around the end of March (?). There is so much coordinating involved with such a large group. The information will be posted in the OP of this thread when the information is available. We will be given the costs for each night, the code to use for the group, etc.
-
Booked my flight ...I'm going to Vegas ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yippeeeee!!!! When are you arriving? Wednesday, Thursday, Friday ? Ok, who else is booked?
-
Not booked yet. Scheduled dates for me and mommoose are Tuesday-Tuesday. She has this thing about loosing days for travel time. LOL
Don't forget for those of us that arrive early, we get together on Thursday night. This is the preparty before the party.
My560sel, I can't believe you booked your flight. Last I checked the prices were too high for me to book them. So happy you will be in VEGAS.
Jancie, your husband is too cute. Can't wait to see everyone in VEGAS.
Hugs and Prayers,
Cheryl
-
Cheryl - I want to come in on Wednesday this year. Waiting to hear from the other gals that I room with if they are coming in a couple of days early.
Anniese - what about you and your sister? Any chances that you might come in on Wednesday this year?
-
Jancie, I guess we will just have to meet up on Wednesday also. What a wild time we will have. I will be broke by Friday. (LOL)
-
I am afraid of that too (being broke by Friday) as I bring limited cash with me. However thanks to you, your mom, Robin, and several others I am getting better at playing the penny slots. For some reason the slots work much better during the week than on the weekend. I wonder if they have some sort of reset button on those.
-
Hey Jancie - we are planning on coming in on Wednesday. But, sis has to work that day so we will most likely be arriving late (like around 8 or 9pm). Will let you know when we book flights.
-
Anniese - that sounds great! I had such a wonderful time having coffee with you and your hubby. I so wish that I wasn't flying out that day and we could have spent more time together. My trip was great but what was going to be a 9 day trip ended up 20 days. Somehow I lost the entire month of February.
It is DH's and my 11th wedding anniversary today! We are going out to celebrate next weekend but in the meantime he is going to take me to dinner tonight as there is no reason I should have to cook on my anniversary. I need to get off my arse and go get him something! I told him not to get me anything as I hoping he will put those monies into a saddle for me instead once I find one that I like.
-
Happy Aniversary Jancie and Hubby. Have fun and enjoy dinner.
Hugs, Cheryl
-
Happy Anniversary, Jancie! Was wonderful to spend time with you also. How in the world did the 9 days turn into 20??? Hope you get that sadle you want!
-
Anniese and Cheryl - thanks and hugs!
Ok, so I was left on Feb 3rd and was due back Feb 12th. On the morning of the 12th my friend that was supposed to drive me to the airport woke up with a raging fever - over 104 - getting up to 105. I spent 2 hours icing her down from head to pelvis area. Ended up she had a kidney infection. Her husband had to go out town the following day so I stayed there to monitor her until he got back from his business trip.
I scheduled a new return flight for Feb 17th. That morning I went to check in on-line - I had US Air itiniary numbers along with Expedia's numbers and confirmation emails from Expedia but something got lost in the transaction and I was not ticketed. The flights to Phoenix were not booked solid but I would have been stuck in Phoenix. I had to reschedule another return flight and couldn't get out until Tuesday the 21st. What a freaking mess but it was nice to have more time to spend with my friends.
-
I booked a flight after reviewing information about escalating fares due to fuel pricing. The fares may not get much better and could increase by the time the summer hits.
Anyway, glad to be set for the trip. Arriving on Friday leaving on Monday.
-
Beth - you have to bring pictures of your westie(s) when you come to Vegas! So glad you are coming but hey......next time come a day earlier if you can!!!
-
Happy anniversary Jancie!
-
Happy anniversary Jancie ! All the best to you and hubby and many, many more!
Sylvia (olivieri) and I are arriving on Thursday and leaving the following Saturday!! This Vegas weekend is turning into a weeks' vacation for us ! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Can't wait to see all of you again. I especially look forward to my Saturday morning cry when Packer does her thing...
Terri

Packer is not allowed to make us cry.

I still listen to my CD's all of the time.

Here is a suggestion for a "manly" type anniversary. We women typically get or demand the nice romantic anniversary dinners whereas the men would just as soon eat a pizza and drink beer.
My husband was exhausted that Friday night and begged off taking me to dinner, rescheduling it for the next night.
So I went to The Pie Pizzaria and asked them if I brought over flowers/gift and a card would they deliver said items with the pizza and they said yes. So I got flowers, vase, pebble rock for the vase and a singing card and put the flowers together at the pizza place and they delivered the flowers and card with the Pizza. Of course I made dh answer the door and he was just shocked in a good way. I had also bought some good imported beer and had that in the refrigerator cooling down. Oh and the pizza place made the pizza in the shape of a heart.
So if any of ya'll want to shock your SO's for any occassion or maybe no occassion at all - go to a restaurant that delivers - pay for the meal in advance and have them bring a gift with the delivery.
And no, we didn't use the scream cream that night - he was truly exhausted and fell asleep on me.
