Folks, Marybe just did a post called 'Our pal Alpal'. She is not doing well and is heading to hospice. Sending prayers her way.
-
I'm so sad to hear this. I've been looking for her posts and wondering what's been going on. If anyone is in direct contact with her, please send her my love. Sh*t.
-
Hl
Good to hear that everything went well.

Okay, I just had to post this. Masters of the Uterus, indeed!http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/02/17/gop-lawmaker-the-pill-is-bad-because-it-causes-cancer-in-men-video/ETA: Sorry, you'll have to copy and paste. I don't know WHY I can never make my links work <sigh>(Mod edit to make the link clickable)

HL - congratulations!!! For sore throat - honey, fresh lemon juice, a little water - heated up like tea, thick, steamy, drink slowly...
Master of the Uterus - oh, thank dog for this thread - really needed something to laugh at!
reminds me of a comment Gloria Steinum made eons ago:"If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament." IMAGINE - power politician getting pregnant JUST when he wants to run for President?
bbrrrrr.......grrrrr.....bacak to chuckles: Masters of the Uterus...

Happy .. I am so glad all went well with your surgery.
I am brokenhearted about Allison ... and have been missing her.
I'm lovin' being in sunny San Diego with my grands!
hugs to all,Bren
-
Bren - I know this is not a priority in your visit , but I wonder if you've ever been to the San Diego zoo - it is supposed to be spectacular. Never been there myself and don't really like zoos, but this Serengetti-obsessed poster can never keep her mind far from the wild.
-
I've been to the San Diego Zoo and you're absolutely right -- it's a wonderful place! I'll bet Bren has taken her grandkids there; it's not to be missed.
-
Glad to see that Bren is having a good time in SD ... Libby's surgery went well and she's feeling pretty perky all things considered ... Athena has some good common sense (which I define as NOT going to exercise at 6 am) ... and Ang survived a bunch of 7-8 year old girls

So sad to hear that Allison is not doing well ... have been worried that we hadn't heard from her but you always hope there are other reasons. (((Allison))) we love you! D*mn cancer ...
-
Smiling celebrities in ads about breast cancer make me really sad today. I'm not smiling about Allison.
-
Hi Girls - it's hot over here in Aussie land - I'm so sick of it.
Just finished a marathon searching/booking accommodation and flights (took me most of the week) to go and see our DD after she has the baby in June. At first Steve wasn't coming, now he is. I got him a flight using frequent flyer points - can't believe I didn't use them for my ticket. We're going for 9 nights and I got an amazing price on an hotel, so I'm one very happy Susie. It's only appropriate he comes too - it's his grandchild too. Good news is that DD is really pleased he's coming.
-
Very upset about Alpal - I hate this f-ing disease!!!!
-
Athena -
I've also been to the San Diego Zoo and it's wonderful - you need to go for a visit.
-
Hi Friends!
It's raining here in sunny So Cal. arghhh! I'm having a wonderful time with my grands!
Athena .. when I used to live here, I had year-round passes to the zoo. With the pass, you could go early in the morning before the crowds arrived. I love the Zoo. They also have a wonderful little gift shop. One time we went to a dinner they were having after hours at the Zoo .. it was so awesome.
I'm thinking of Allison this morning and I'm feeling pretty bad. I miss her and hope we hear from her again. I hope she isn't in any pain.
love to all,
Bren
-
I know Bren, I miss her too and I am so incredibly sad. I hope she is at peace.
-
It is so sad. Such a nice, friendly woman who never ever complained. I had no idea she was that sick. A true "lady".
-
I am so sad to hear about Allison. I hope she knows how much she means to us.
-
I was really, really hoping that Allison was just having a rough bout with chemo and would rebound. Miss you, Alpal.
-
(((Allison)))
I don't know what to say, except that I love you.
-
Morning everyone. Keeping up the vigil on our pal, Al... It's awful not to be able to say good-bye.
-
Thinking of Allison and sending good thoughts and gentle hugs to her and her family.
-
My heart breaks for her and for all of us. Finding a cure, finding better treatment, caring enough for each other that we want the best possible outcome - these are the things that matter most.
Allison, keeping you in my heart, dear friend.
-
Hi Everybody!
I had a wonderful time in San Diego with my family. And I already miss them so much. I got home about 9:00 p.m. last night after a 3-hour layover in Atlanta. My grandsons are 4 and 7 years-old and very funny. Of course they both had numerous time-outs while I was there because they fight like little brothers do.
We had a couple inches of snow while I was gone. It's already starting to melt and tomorrow the temperature is supposed to reach 60 degrees. Woohoo! Maybe winter will just skip right by us this year.
Allison is weighing heavily on my mind. I'm keeping her close in my thoughts and heart. I anxiously check the Stage IV thread that Marybe started for her, and I hope she is not in any pain.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Hugs,
Bren

Welcome home Bren. Glad you had a good time. Aahh brothers....nothing more hilarious than watching them get into it! Just when you think they hate each other's guts, out of the blue they renew your faith in love.
The weather is so weird here too. Normally, in the midst of it all, we have temperatures in the -30 to -40 range and have snow up the wazoo. This year we've barely gone below 0 and barely have any snow at all. Kids are wearing shorts!
-
It's quiet here....for obvious reasons. Let's have a toast to our dear, very ill friend.
-
Here's to our wonderful, dear Allison!
-
Drinks at the B&G are on me today, as I celebrate my 10 year anniversary of my diagnosis. And please, let's all raise our glasses to our friends whom have not been as fortunate. If I took a shot of Jack (or tequila) for every friend I've lost to this bitch of a disease in the past decade, I'd pass out before I made it through the list.
-
Congratulations Anne!
We celebrate the good news ... mourn the bad news ... and cherish all the friends we have made here along the way. It may be a virtual world but it is still a very real world and we are stronger together whatever comes our way IMO.
Love you all and I'm glad you are in my life. Now bartender ... is it too early for an Irish Coffee?
