I have been followed around this past week by producers and cameras of a major network broadcast show for a documentary. So funny!! :) I have made a tiny splash in my own little way in my field (non profits and community development through real estate etc), and it created some wonderful ripples that reached some NY producers. At first it was fun. I was all excited to have this new experience. OK...been there, done that. LOL. Now, I want these folks GONE!! I spent all day figuring out how to get things done without a freaking camera following me. How do you act "normal" with a herd of people schlepping around you? I think it will be just a few more days. I bet all this footage amounts to 10 seconds or less of a glimpse of me on TV!! It's funny how your priorities change. I bet before I got diagnosed, I would have absolutely had a fit to get on tv. Now, these people are burning my daylight. Hopefully it will create some awareness for my nonprofit. At minimum...my kids are totally tickled!!!

    That's Awesome!! What's the documentary called? What was it they wanted to "capture"?

    Cool, but yeah that reality TV stuff has got to be wearing.  Can you imagine how those "Housewives", etc must feel????

    Hi Fuzzy! I need to come bounce around your romper room : ) I hope you are doing well.

    Its about the financial crisis in America, from how it all started with Fannie and Freddie and the government stepping in summer 2008 until now. We all are seeing the foreclosure crisis and unemployment and hard times effect all of us. I don't think an exact title has been chosen, and I am not even sure how much longer it's going to take to get their whole vision on film. But the basic premise seems to be that we are all in this together and each one of us as individuals can help build stronger communities. Each and every single one of us can make a difference. If you see a vacant house with trash, pick up a little. If you see an abandoned animal in a foreclosure, find a home or call the pound. And if all you can muster up one day for a neighbor is a smile as you walk up the street, know that the smile has made a difference. It's time to get back to basics :)

    Pupfoster...I can NOT even imagine. I have no idea why anybody would do that (oh yea...maybe millions of dollars might change my mind, lol) I am supposed to be on my way to meet them now. I grabbed a wrinkly shirt and my hair is up on a knot. Trust me...none of it is glamorous. Those camera people and zillion producers work hard. Very hard. They are stuffing themselves into strange places to get good shots...upside down in a minivan, standing on a chair in bushes. Totally wacky.It's given me a new appreciation.

    Geewhiz - I love your attitude!  This is so true

    Wow!  Definitely very cool, Geewhiz!  You rock!   What a role model you are for your kids (and everyone who sees your documentary).  Be sure to let us know when/where we can watch it!

    I completely agree. We have a tremendous opportunity to be HUMAN. What a great project and I'm so impressed with your commitment and passion!

    BTW, I did years of volunteering, was a member on the BOD with Habitat for Humanity, and held two chairs....right in line with what you're saying for sure.
