3 years from last treatment

3 years ago this morning I had my last radiation treatment.  That is the last of the 3 year cancerversaries.  In a few months, God willing, I get to "celebrate" 4 years from my diagnosis.

I so remember coming here and Bugs, Carol, Sherry, Linda, Michelle, Jackie all being around 3 years out and sounding so "normal".  I was in awe of their hair, their ability to think about anything not cancer related, their ability to laugh. They inspired me and gave me hope.

Here I am watching them hit 6 and 7 years - still in awe, still inspired, still with hope.  God bless us all.

    Hi Mary!

I could have said your exact words, and i'm right behind you :-). I feel just like Sherry -- you are my personal trainer in my head, and when i haven't run in a few days, I think of you and get my behind in gear!

Congratulations on this important milestone and may you have many many years and milestones to come!

What strikes me about you Mary is not that you had cancer.  It's that you used this experience as a springboard to "thrive" and take your life to new and exciting places.

It is so energizing to watch you as you jump yet another hurdle.  Your pictures reveal a glowing woman in her prime.

So much more to celebrate than three years from the end of radiation.  Just so much more.

    A major, major congrats.

Congratulations and Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I still celebrare anniversaries and come and let others join in with me, is because I believe it helps others newly diagnosed to hear and Inspire them to look forward to Their anniversaries and it,s telling them they TOO can be Survivors with HOPE and Blessings. I am a 18 yr Survivor(Praise God) and I want others to Aspire to reach that goal ALSO.   God Bless.  msphil (idc, stage 2, 0/3 nodes involved, L mast, chemo and rads and 5 yrs on Tamoxifen) and All while making plans for my Wedding.

Mary you have good reason to celebrate the years of being NED,  You are  a survivor to look up to for us who need some inspiration sometimes.  I'm looking forward to meeting you at the Jersey Shore Race.  Not that I will be running but I will be there walking at least.  And without my cane!

God bless you Mary your encouragment to meet up at the race, is helping me get thru my knee pain in recovery.  I'm determined to be fast walking without pain and cane by May

I am so happy for you!! And for all of us. I really like that there are ladies here who were dx over 5 years ago and still keep posting, it keeps me sane!! I love this website, it has really helped me thru some very dark moments.  I will still be here posting in 2 3 and 5 years to give inspiration to others as all of you have to me!!

Thanks everyone!  I read each of your comments with tears in my eyes.  I am so glad I am renting space in some of your heads!!!  I hate that anyone has to go through this but it is made marginally better knowing that what I learned can help someone else.

I am so proud of us all - this is not easy but together we seem to make it bearable.

See you in NJ, Barb!  I would love to meet with some of you others as well - will be in Ft Lauderdale in early April, New Orleans in early March and NJ in early May.  Hoping to do Montreal Marathon with Kerry in September too!

And if anyone is heading to NY (I am in Albany area) give me a shout!

Congrats, Mary!  You're an inspiration even to those ahead of you in the time-frame...you've pushed yourself beyonds the bounds of cancer.
