5 year survivor
Today is the day! As of today I am a 5 year cancer survivor, and it sure feels good!! I was diagnosed at age 47 with stage 2B IDC. I am still here, alive and doing well. I hope this gives all going through faith that you can make it too. Here's to many more years of being cancer free!!

Thanks for the update! It gives me hope! I just finished my rads, so am happy to be moving forward. It is always good to hear from 5 and 10 year survivors!!

Congratulations on reaching this major milestone!!

YAY, YAY, YAY... I love these stories. I am just 2 years out and I'm healthy. Every year is a blessing. I pray I get to year 5.

Thank you everyone. Sanbar8771, our path reports are very similiar. In addition, I've had extensive vascular invasion. You too will reach the 5 year mark. Best of luck!

I'm still in the beginning stages of treatment. It is so good to hear from people who are surviving. Thank you for sharing your success.

I want to add my congratulations too, swmmom! I hit my 5 yr mark in Nov and was a wonderful milestone. I am on Arimidex till the end of January and that will be another time to celebrate.
I wish you nothing but continued good health!

Thank you, swmmom. Lately I have been absolutely terrified. Panic attacks, difficulty concentrating on work, every ache and pain a potential met - I needed to read this today!

Thank you!!!! Needed to hear this so badly!! I was diagnosed Aug 2011, age 47, Stage IIa with vascular invasion. Having a hard time dealing with recurrence fears and a feeling its doomed to come back. This is happy news, congratulations on this milestone!

Congratulations and thank you SO much for sharing this. There are very few moments during the day that I'm not having dark thoughts about cancer. I sometimes think I'll live the rest of my life in fear of recurrence. So grateful to women like you who share you survival stories!

Thanks again everyone. At first I was really hesitant to even post a message as I didn't want to jinx anything, but it makes me very happy that I've gladdened some hearts today.
Christina19 and Jenlee, the fear of recurrance really gets better, I promise! I don't plan on any recurrances and you ladies shouldn't either!
Sflow, I am actually afraid to get off the Arimidex. I tolerate it really well and take great comfort in knowing that it's providing me with great protection. I hope my oncologist agrees with me when I see him in 2 months and renews my prescription.

Congrats! I wish you many more healthy years! Thanks for posting your good news. It really helps.
