Sheila - you're close enough - as far as I'm concerned, anything west of Charlotte is considered WNC - now do you be trying to get away from us!  You are in Marion right?  How far is that from Yancy County.  I'll be attending a big family reunion there the last weekend in Sept - have had relatives there since 1738.  Daniel Boone was my first cousin 6 times removed! LOL - always new I was a pioneer!Laughing

Dr Conway has been reconstructing me; I go for my exchange surgery Sept 28 (can't hardly wait!).  Then it's on to Erlene for tats.

Lori - so glad to hear theat you are doing well; glad that you're having a good first week at school too.

Wow, we've had some wonderful weather this summer; it's gone by so fast, I can't believe that Aug is almost over.

I'm actually east of Marion, between Hickory and Boone in Caldwell county. In Wilkes County there is a house that belonged to Daniel Boone that was moved from the Yadkin river to the Whipporwill Academy in Wilkes County. Speaking of famous relatives, my husband is a distant relative of Tom Dula (Tom Dooley) who is buried in Wilkes County after he was hung in Statesville. I went to the Whipporwill Academy with my son's 3rd grade class on a field trip. The Academy has log buildings from the pioneer days set up to teach the children about the past in this area. They have a room detailing the adventures of Tom Dula and what transpired to inspire the song and the Daniel Boone house set up like a trappers cabin.

Good luck on your exchange and your tatts with Earleen.

HI ladies!  Just wondering how everyone is faring with all the rain.  We're pretty saturated but no major flooding here.

    Hugs and blessings!

Hi Lori, no flooding here either, but my roof on the porch is leaking! We are waiting on a settlement from my great Aunt's (never married) will to get the roof replaced, the lawers involved are meeting tomorrow.

    Hi Girls,

I had to drive down to Clayton,GA yesterday; on the way back I was truly concerned.  All of the fields in Mountain City are flooded, they are sure to lose their crops...sad.  The Little Tennessee River is quite high also.  Right now we're enjoying a respite with some sunshine and blue skies.  I know that we need rain - but not all at once!  Lori - sorry about your leak - hope the meeting with the lawyers goes well tomorrow.

Donna, the lawers conference is in Ohio, where I am originally from. My great aunt was excentric to say the least (mentality of 10-12 yr old) and her will was written in 1960 after the death of her mother where she left the majority of her money to a hospital and just token amounts to her two nieces, nephew and great niece and nephew who were born when the will was written (she had 14 great nieces and nephews when she died in Feb not counting the great-great, and 3 greats). The nieces and nephew are contesting the will and hoping that the 5 lawers involved can work out a solution tomorrow that will satisify the family.

My husband has been lucky this week in his truck driving, he has gone to PA and western TN, and on his way back to PA for Wed evening delivery. They are not sending any drivers to the Atlanta area because of the flooding.

Sheila - You are so sweet not to correct my boo boo Innocent.  I'm obviously am still suffering chemobrain!

I'm glad that your husband has not had to venture down towards Atlanta - last count, 8 people have died there due to the flooding - so sad.

Wow - hope that all of the money from the will doesn't get eaten up by the lawyers!  Sounds like a mansworm gaggle.
