I have yearly transvaginal ultrasounds with Doppler . This year the doctor saw an area in the iliac area. there is no flow or or any abnormal flow. he thinks it's a lymph node. They want me to do it again in 2 months. My fear is that this could be breast cancer mets. Five years ago I was diagnosed stage 1, 0 nodes, radiation and arimadex. Has anyone encountered this with there breast cancer?

    Marbletop:

I have them yearly for my 20 year old symptomless fibroids.  Last one showed no change, but small amount of fluid in pelvis (which shouldn't be there at my age since I am post menopausal).  Had a pelvic MRI which showed nothing but the small amount of fluid.  Waited 3 months had another US and TV - same thing.  No cysts or masses found, but one radiologist read it seeing a possible left adnexal cystic mass - another read it as no adnexal mass - just small pocket of fluid (don't you just love it when you get differing opinions!).  So gyno sent me to onc-gyno for exam and to review all films.  He doesn't feel I have a problem and could not detect anything to worry about on all scans and MRIs, but has sent me for a CT of abdomen and pelvis to cover all the bases.  Had it yesterday.  Now I wait until next weds., as I climb the walls, to see him to find out the findings.  I am very nervous, even though I remain totally symptomless.  Just don't know what to think at this point, but am certainly nervous about what they may have found - maybe even if a different area, with the CT scan.  This disease (especially TN, as I am) is so damn sneaky, as we all are aware, so nervous I am, for sure.  At least you are on hormonals which are known to screw things in the pelvis up, and that it doesn't have to be cancer.  I don't even have that benefit.

Wishing you the best, and I sure hoping mine will be ok as well.  Next month will be my third anniversary since diagnose with TN, I'm hoping it continues.  Ugh, I hate this disease and what it does to us.

    Hello Linda,

Thank you for your input. I totally agree with you about this disease. Tomorrow I see my medical oncologist and of course will get her take on my ultrasound. I too worry extensively when something shows up on a test. I hope your cat scan comes out clean . They are just being super careful because of our cancer history. iThe radiologist also found a sliver of fluid on my endometrium cavity and I too am post menopausal . It's to my understanding that if there is abnormal flow to the area, they are concerned about malignancy. Anyway, good luck with your cat scan results. I know how you feel with the waiting!
