You too Granny...........................you can do it girl..................we're better then we are given credit for.............I outlast most of my daughters when it comes to "sleepless in Pa.".........................they will never have the energy we had................they do good, but they will never outdo us.
With our cloth diapers, wringer washers, no cell phones, black and white TV, and 1 car per family .....if you could afford one...............hanging out the wash, and ironing........................although my girls, well at least 2 out of the 3 still iron..................I would hang them if they didn't....................I would watch the kids get off the school bus when I took my Grands, and think "ok, where was your Mom when you left for school this morning"...............soap, water, a comb, and an iron are not that expensive.............oh well, I'm gonna go find the Vodka, and get an early start.........................HAPPY NEW YEAR.......love ya all
-
-
Ducky----how the hell did we do it?????damn when i was in PA i thought i would die ifI s itayed i hr longer....im still payin for it....BUT I was able to play cards from 6:00 till 1:30 last nite...go figure....and all that and i only lost 3 bucks....
Do you think we can all start the new year with a dance with NED?????
-
Well!!!!!!!!joyce....come on over then....you really dont have to be 70 ya know....we have a wide window when it comes to age.....and most of it is all in the head....ducky makes everyone think all she does is drink vodka.....yah right...!!!!! she probably dont even have a bottle in her house.ha.
come and join its free.and the mods even like it.help us keep it goin.it gives the younger ones some hope. And the older ones wondering what the hell happened when we were not lookin!!!!!!!!
3 mos.ago i was dancing.today i have a hard time stretching.does it happen so fast?
Ducky maybe i betta get the vodka.huh?
-
Granny, I love ya girl...........................you make me smile..............and that is a good thing............see 6 to 1:30, those young "chippies" could never do that.....................and true, I don't know how we did it...........sheet guts and determination.......................haha, but somehow we did it...............
Joy.............you have to come on over.................we would love to have you...............Just bring your biggest bottle of Vodka...........and your "RED SOLO CUP"..........................
And Granny..............are you giving my secrets away about my drinking habits......................hahaha.......RED SOLO CUP.........I LIFT YOU 'UP, LET'S HAVE A PARTY, LET'S HAVE A PARTY...................I LOVE MY RED SOLO CUP............I FILL YOU UP........PROCEED TO PARTY........PROCEED TO PARTY.
Hey I ate so much sauerkraut tonight at my son's, I ain't never gettin off the "shitter" tomorrow..................my daughter-in=law makes the meanest pot of sauerkraut you ever tasted...................but what can I say "she's part Polish".......
Watched the stringbands, Mummers parade, and picked the winner..............It was Woodland, from my old stamping grounds when I was a kid in Southwest Philly..................
Let's all hope for a healthy and happy NY.................well we know its gonna be happy with "our Granny" keeping us smiling..................love ya all..............................Proceed to party.....................
-
Ducky---and you dear sista make me have quite a few belly laughs....mostly on a daily basis too.
when you mentioned the sauerkraut i almost peed my pants....my God mother is polish and she too make the best of the best with pork chops cooked in it...let me tell you honey i would be in the emergency room with them pumping my stomach FOREVER!!!!!!! no lie.
im doin the slow dance now with NED for all of us.
find a damn cure in 2012....i swear enuf!!!!!!!
-
Granny........I have a good one for you..........My husband was italian......I am Irish mix..........my son always teases his wife about being polish...................today while we were watching the Stringbands someone said ........."don't they go down Broad Street" anymore, which was the tradition for years, and years...................this year they put it on Kennedy Blvd. near Love Park......................so my son said.....................being funny....................so if I would have gone to Broad St. this year, I would not have seen any Stringbands..........................his wife said, that's right..............................and he came back with.................."no I probably still could have seen 'Polish American".................I thought he was gonna get the "bowl of sauerkraut" over his head.............................of course I roard, and said ..........................Oh yea, followed by "South Philly" which is all italian......................got a bigger laugh....................
-
We call my family the Heinz 57 brand.we have it all.....
-
Well we kind of started out 1/2 italian, and the rest split...Irish, German, and Scottish.............once the kids started marrying, we cut that Italian down to very little.......................1 son married Italian (that is the one with the wife who has left him 4 times in the past 3 years).................other then that, most have married spouses with Irish, some Irish/italian.........Irish/Polish, so you can see the Irish have kind of taken over the family...................Not that it matters, cause they are all great people, and are wonderful, wives, and mothers, and fathers................except the bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and she should rot in hell................
So yes, my family consists of a lot of Mutts.................but I can't think of a better group of Canines I would rather be associated with.................love them all.............and you should see the beautiful grandchildren those "combination nationalities" have produced.................You mix italian with anything that is "fair skinned", and you get gorgeous...................not that I'm partial................hahahahahahaha. Have a great day Granny..............................we are getting hammered here in Pa. tomorrow with what they are calling an Artic Blast.................................thanks Canada..........love you guys....just kidding.
-
My biggest mix is Italian,Irish,Polish,German and Spanish....thats the main ingred. along with English,Scottish, got a new daughter in law that comes from the republic of Georgia outside of Russia. My 3 yr old grandaughter understands the language.now if i only would like her!!!!!!!snobby bitch...

I am 69, so would love to join this group of oldies but goodies! I had my last chemo on Dec. 13 & have my first radiation consultation on Jan. 26. I'm glad I'm retired because chemo really left me feeling fatigued - & I hear radiation will do even more fatiguing! Just wondering how you other gals around the age of 70 are fairing with all the treatments. I am to undergo a DIEP reconstruction 6 months after radiation on my left breast. Sometimes I wonder if all the seriousness of that major surgery is worth it at our age. I plan to do it, but am thinking I'll be the only almost 70 year old getting a tummy tuck, breast reconstruction, & lift in the unaffected breast. Maybe I'll wind up looking better than I have in decades - ha! The guy I date is encouraging me to definitely go with the DIEP. He emailed me on match.com at the time of my diagnosis & I told him I was taking myself off the market because I just found out I had breast cancer. He wouldn't take no for an answer & has been a great support through my mastectomy & chemotherapy. We're not "serious" but he sure has been a sweet & uplifting support. Just what I needed....of course I do have great support from my family (3 daughters) & great lifelong friends. Just wondering how you others my age are
-
Welcome Sharon to our little "oldies, but goodies" group......................No need to be 70 to join us, since we're all young at heart, and age is only a number...............
The ladies here are the best..........you will meet the greatest group of women you have ever met.....we have all been around the block several times, and have our outrageous stories to tell..............
I am 76........diagnosed last year in Feb.........had lumpectomy, and Rads........I did well with Rads....a few bumps in the road..........fatigue the worst...............but got through it fine...........I am on Femara, which I call the "devil", but even with that I am doing ok, compared to some of the other ladies...........
No one can really tell you or advise you what is best, but we certainly tell you what our experiences were when we went throgh it.
They did not recommend Chemo for me, since my Oncotype score was 8, which is considered quite low..............they actually told me I could forgo Rads too, but my RO, and BS absolutely did not agree with my MO on that one...................so I did it..............36 treatments.........5 of those were boosts, which were not bad either..............
Well welcome, and come back often..................we love having you here with us...............hugs.
