mema sue, lovely photo of you and the family , and your stepson is
i vote he 's hired as a tender or as a bernies boy or if he's too busy the wall sized photos could work -
Anyone up for some more champagne??? We wore the tenders out last night, so I just opened a few bottles of de Dom, and am pouring as I type....come 'n get it!
Remember Wine,Likker,Beer,or Champagne does not make you FAT ...
.....it makes you LEAN.....
(Against tables, chairs, floors, walls and ugly people.) -
Ohhhh yes, Wahine, I will join you for de foyst Pau Hana of de year.
Here is a toast to all yese goils.....*clink*, *drink*......yummmy, love de Dom. Tanks for sharing. And how sweet of you to give the tenders the day off. Oh, I see Mr. Big and Snow Job boy laying in de hammocks. Me tinks dey want some pampering. Here I come, boys!!
CheeerZ!!
-
Kathy, I made you a pitcher of Seagrams and diet, come on over here and help me pamper de boys!
LMAO on leaning.....always reminds me of a company partAY back in 1985 when I was sitting on the lap of an old n ugly VP at my company. He thought he had a chance with me after that and would not leave me alone. Lesson learned, for sure!!
-
Ohhhhh nooooooo DorK!
You must've had waaay tooo much likker dat night! Tanx for de boubon and diet....will alternate with de Dom and de Seagrams.....hmmmmm....which one do I like best? Better keep tasting....Also tanx for letting me help you pamper de Mr Big and de Snow Boy.....you is so sweet to share! Unlike dat ho "Ms White"....she wouldn't share so she ended up in de shed. Shame on her! But me tinks she had mo bettah fun in de shed....he he.
WooHoo, Dork reminded me it is the FIRST PAU HANA of 2012~!!!!!! Time to celebrate big time!!!!
-
Had a few Miller lites at DH bday dinner, toasting all of you and Junie's legacy here at the HTL, let it live on and on! Bernie, such kind words to us. I will just say ditto, my friend! And hope you and your old friend had lots of laughs and not so many tears down your legs, lol.
Happy, Healthy 2012!!
-
Yep, waaay too much likker that night. I never remembered the after partAY but indeed, learned dat dwinking too much could label me a ho, like Elizabeth. Speaking of HO's, mese just saw Betty White at de percotini fountain. Mese guessing dat our boys where too much for her to handle.haha, dat what she get for whoring around at our htl.
Mese jest saw John Boy again, ick, he is a geek. Who left de door open, Katrinka?? Was you hoping to let Mr. Big in and hide him for yerself?? You still dwinking with de DorK? Mese wants anudder parTAY. I got cop porn, whose in?
-
Yummmmmm......Cop Porn! Count me in, Dork!
-
psssst, goils- I know dat de Bernie and Lowwi is sleeping. Stella is going to lipstick their faces then spray them with silly string! Yippeeee.
Does anybody want to have a monKey dey ebening parTAy tonights? Mese is habing a bucket of dogbeers - ML's for Junie. Mese doesn't usually dwink de beer but I can knock em down with the best and I am missing knocking them down with Junie. Look, I found her faborite hat on de floor! Yippee!

Here is to our HTL angel, I lift me mug and sez CHEERS Junie. Wish I could give ya a hug! Miss you bunches. I feel you here at de partAY!
-
OMG, I need to check in here twice a day because I just spit my drink (campari and champagne) out of my nose. Not only did it hurt but it was a waste of good alcohol.
Any of you girls swim during rads? I'm hearing it's a no-no and I want to kill someone. Or have another drink.
It's a bummer that in my diagnosis in my signature I can't list all 4 cancers that they found in my titty.
-
Sara, Just add anything you want to, right after your name in the sig. You can write as much as you want to, just write "diagnosis" before it, if you want to. Doesn't need to just be in the "official" diag space. That sucks about the "no swimming"....I didn't have rads, so don't know anything about that. When will you be thru with rads?
DorK, OMG I got so sad (again) thinking about Junie. Sweet of you to dwink ML dog beers in her memory, and to have found a foil hat. Oh remind me not to fall asleep around Stella....I bet we can hear Beans and Lowwi yell all across the country when they wake up to what Stella has done. I think Stella is still hoping for that spanking!
-
Wahine, I start rads sometime in January...appointment with the RO is 1/11....I see the ONC Tuesday. I'm thinking my incisions are healed well enough to at least swim until I start rads. I'm gonna change my signature. LOL. I mean, I might as well brag about my b*tch.
-
Sara de Spinner is in de lounge, yay! So sorry for you going through rads
. Hang with us, we will try to help you through it. FYI, you prolly figured out that Junie is one of our loungettes who went to Heaven to dwink with de best of de angels in de sky. We all miss her dearly, she was on of de original loungettes along with Lori and Wahine. Kathy Katrinka, de woman of many names, me tink Stella went craaaaazy and will be in big twouble when de goils sees what she's done. Dat goil makes me dwink.
Rounds for all. Mr. Big, Flash, Pants, line us all up wif six dwinks each! CheerS!
-
Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Junie. I know it's something we'll have to deal with on these forums but the reality of it kinda bites. In a big way.
Taught Spin this morning, back on the bike, bitches!! YAY ME! :-) Felt good. Thinking about maybe a little run in the morning tomorrow and maybe ready for weights again...we'll see. I'm almost 2 weeks post-op....should be ok.
So I was buying coffee (k-cups) at Bed Bath and Beyond and I found these bras...called Genie bras? Y'all prolly know all about 'em already but man, It was the first bra I put on my little girls post-surgery that didn't hurt!! I am so happy, I might have to have another drink. BARKEEP!Wahine...LMAO @ ".....it makes you LEAN.....(Against tables, chairs, floors, walls and ugly people.) "
I drank all the good stuff last night (Duval Leroy) with our lobster and lemon caviar cream sauce over squid ink pasta (cooked by yours truly) so I've been reduced to drinknig prosecco tonight. -
spinner ,i think you should be in charge of catering of the htl! ps i went swimming during rads at the gym pool, he didn't specifically say no swimming and me being bad didn't ask!

had minimum skin problems from it just redness and peeling -
Hi Sara....
Welcome. Two weeks out from surgery and I was back cycling. I didn't do weights until the drains came out.
Good for you for making a big deal of NYE....I am drinking leftover champagne and red wine with dinner tonight. My learning from this year is to have something easy to cook for New Year's Day. I had wild boar sausages with Potatoes Anna, plus yummy veggies. No work, and delish.
I think that exercise is the best revenge. Plus, we still look (and feel) hot. Plus, we can eat. Plus, we can IMBIBE!!!
I am glad I still have some "good stuff".
Happy 2012 to everyone. I have had the most wonderful Christmas and New Years. Feel truly blessed for this. CheerZZZZZ!!!!!! - Claire
-
I gotta tell you drunken chicas that a) I think I'm gonna love hangin' out here and b) I am getting the sense that there are a lot of sisters on these boards (not just this one) who take some of their docs' advice and throw it out the window and do what feels best for them. I like that!
So, I'm gonna swim unless I have a skin issue that feels dangerous...I'm smart enough to listen to my own body (most of the time).
I'm watching Food Network and this stupid celebrity cook-off show with RR and Guy Fieri....it wouldn't be entertaining if I was sober.
Night gurls. :-) -
spinner- i used the gym pool has no kids allowed, swam for about 20 mins 4x week, then went straight to the showers, as i said my skin although crispy never actually any open areas and the chlorine never seemed to bother me, i did go swimming straight after my tx ended! as the gym is right next door to the ro office

A farmer had 3 beautiful daughters who were getting ready to go out on dates. The first beau came to the door and said, "I'm Eddie, I'm here to pick up Betty. We're going for spaghetti, is she ready?"
"No," the farmer said.
The second beau came to the door and said, "I'm Joe, I'm here to pick up Flo to take her to the show. Is she ready to go?"
"No."
The third beau came to the door and said to the farmer. "Hello, my name is Chuck."
The farmer shot Chuck. -
bernie, good morning -
Happy 2012 ladies! Cheers to all of you! Hope all who are healing are doing so!
Spinner, I think you are right about making your own decisions, with as much input as you can get. I think exercise helps on a lot of fronts, just don't overdo. Didn't have to deal with rads, hoping it goes quickly for you.
BOTD is Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout, high octane and awesome! Cheers! -
Mema, beautiful pictures....of EVERYONE. You have a very attractive family! Thank you for sharing.
So sweet Bernie, thank you. That makes me a "Bernie's Babe", I likey! And you definitely make more than one person laugh a day! So sweet of your friend to come and be with you for NYE. Where was your DH?
Karen, I'm sure you and your DH will work things out.
Kathy, you have a very nice toast too, and I'll dwink to dat. OMG, leaning on ugly people, that is funny.
DorK, I don't think we will ever stop mentioning our sweet Junie, as she is thought of always and is a part of The HTL, one of the founders! But as for me, I did not come along until 2 yrs later. Oh I see, you can blame Stella for sumpin, but I can't? Now how is dat fare? And me is so sorry you leaned on ugly too, well sat on it....LMAO. DorK, you dirty dog you, I was wondering what felt so funny on my face. But I guess I can't complain, cuz I bremember getting you once upon a time.
Spinner, sorry you can't swim, has anyone explained why? We have 2 pools here you can use and it won't cause a problem. We have one indoors and one out. In fact.........meet me inside, I'll go for a swim with ya! As for spewing champagne out ur nose, is not only a waste of alcohol, but ALCOHOL ABUSE!
Scuby luv, I'll have some of that high octane! Is work slowing down now for you? So you can spend more time in de lounge?
Happy 2012 goils!
How ‘bout a glass of "UGLY" today? (it's really just red beer) Ingredients : 2 oz tomato juice, 6 oz beer (lager)
Use a "Shaker" for Ugly drink recipe
Fill beer glass 3/4 full of beer, slowly pour tomato juice down the side so it settles on the bottom. Shake salt in the palm of your hand. Throw salt into the glass and wait until the top foams up. Chug the drink and then scream "UGLY"!
-
"UGLY, UGLY, UGLY, GDFUGLY!!!" That is so funny, Lowwi...but I did it anyway! Actually never had beer/tomato juice....is it good? Bernie's DH is away for a few more days....work takes him away for extended periods of time. But sounds like she had some good people to keep her company for Christmas and also for New Years.
Oh dear.....2 beer dwinks today...the FUGLY one and the HI-OCTAVE one....we will get tanked today, like LIsa will get in April (tanked up that is).
MIght have my foist dwink at 12:12 today....sorta neat....12:12, 1-2-12.
Spinner, yeah it is good to know your own body and know which of the docs advice you don't need to adhere to. I learned more info from the gals on the various threads here, then I could ever learn from my dr. Esp on what to have ready b4 surg, at home, so it would be helpful. Also, what to take for your ride home from hospital, etc. BUT this thread is the most fun!!! And we get very close to ea other, so a lot of empathy when anyone is hurting, sad, etc. You stumbled into the purrfect zanadu lounge! Have you heard yet that our Casino has free ATMs? We also have a nice beach, hunky firemen (story there about how they joined us), and swim-up bar.
Bernie, OMG, now WHY did he shoot Chuck???? LMAO at that one. My DH enjoys all the ones I copy and email to him, from your posts. Keep em coming! Did your friend have to fly home already? That was so awesome that she flew over to visit you!!! But hey, wait...I flew to see you, all the way from the Southern US!!!! LOL. The tour of Ireland was the afterthought. J/K
Anyone going to watch the Rose Parade today? Should be awesome. Esp if we serve both of those beers today.....we will be floating....and watching the floats...and having beer floats (rootbeer).
I better quit while I am behind.....

Morn TaTa's. Shhh, it's only bout 6:30a here n my DH n my Baxter still sleeping. We celebrated yest since I had to work on Sat n DH yest morn, so we weren't together at midnite. We made up fer it last nite doh...oopps...tee hee.
Allison - Thank you and I am PROUD...sheet, all summer da kids worried ol mom wudn't b round to spend the holidays with em. But I got more life in me than they kno n so far I've beat this beast into submission and that pic will hang on my wall for SURE!
Bernie - Very sweet toast...glad too that u had company this weekend. Very special friend u have in that one fer sure. Thanks for being here to make us laugh every day...ur d best!
Goldie - da 'UGLY' is jes what I need fer dis hangover. Fact, I still feel lil drunk, still LEANing...lol Dork.
Ya'll have my permission to pin...I mean hang...I mean, put Warren's pic in the HTL....He'll b glad to tender to us too, am sure. He used to do those Bachelor Autions, but now he's a daddy, made Captain, and is Pres of the Childrens Burn Foundation. Ah heck, guess he had to settle down sometime. But he's still a party boy at heart!
Sara - I did the pool thing during chemo, I didnot have surg nor rad at the time. But my hair had fallen out. After 3 or 4th time in pool, got sore on scalp, didn't think nothin of it, kept going to pool, the crap on head RAGED...talk about ugly. I got pics of this S##t too. So one little opening on my head got infected by chlorine, something else in pool, who knows. Went to doc, called it Folliculitis. Started anti-biotics (Keflex), then had reaction to that, whole right side of my face swoll up, eye shut, I was a mess mary. The sulfa biotics worked. So jes saying, if ya get a little sore on ur scalp or anywhere on ur skin....quit the pool til it heals. Otherwise....keep up w/the exercise, whatever you think ur body can handle.
Gotta get busy putting away all the xmas decos. Go see my BS tamary...see what she suggests for bi-lat mast schedule. Will keep ya all posted. In da mean time...I'll toast to all my friends here and up there (rip Junie and mom)....2012 is here and a new journey has begun.
Love n prayers my breasties!
Sue

Oh yes Kathy, I remember now, Bernie mentioning that. Thank you for the jump start on my pea brain. Yes, I have had red beer and do like it. My mom would use V-8 in hers, but I do not like that, so just plain ole mater juice for this chicky. Same for if I get a bloody mary, I just ask for wodka and mater juice.
As for the BOTD and DOTD, we will just use Scuby's beer, so we will combine the two.
-
WooHoo, the Tenders and Wenches are getting ready for our SOCK MON-KEY DEY PARTAY!!!!

(Don't know who Mary the Realtor is, but WTH)

Good Morning ladies, I am not even going to try and catch up. Has been a very emotional week for me but I made it through Crhistmas and New Years, all I can say it thank god 2011 is done. Sure praying 2012 is a better a year. I cant beleive that I am coming up on my 1 year canniversary....how did that happen???? I look back at this year and quite frankly I still cant take it all in. Did someone say it's wine o'clock?
What contemptible scoundrel stole the cork from my lunch?
"A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to thank her."
"Once, during Prohibition, I was forced to live for days on nothing but food and water."
"Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water." ~ W.C. Fields"Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance."
"Wine is constant proof that God loves us and wants to see us happy" ~ Benjamin Franklin"Here's to the corkscrew - A useful key to unlock the storehouse of wit, the treasury of laughter, the front door of fellowship, & the gate of pleasant folly" ~ W.E.P. French
"It is well to remember that there are 5 reasons for drinking: the arrival of a friend, one's present or future thirst, the excellence of the wine, or any other reason" Latin Proverb
"Burgundy makes you think of silly things, Bordeaux makes you talk of them & Champagne makes you do them" ~ Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone; when I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty. Quote from Madame Lily Bollinger - vintage 1955
"In Wine there is wisdom. In Beer there is strength. In water there is bacteria" ~ Old German Proverb"I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food
I realized I was drinking too much, so I decided to cut down, I now only drink on days ending in Y
I'm on wine diet.... I've lost three days already!
Alcohol causes you forget stuff and some other things I don't remember!I am not drunk, just chemically imbalanced.
I'm not drunk I'm just holding on to the lawn so I don't fall off the earth.
My grandma is 80 she still doesn't need glasses, She drinks straight out of the bottle.
Ociffer you hass too listening to me, i swear to drunk I am not god!
I have a drinking problem.... I can't find my wine.
