January Mastectomy

Kat-I've struggled for the right words all evening. I drafted a few replies, but deleted them. All I've wanted to say all night is SHIT (pardon my French). I wish more than you can ever imagine that you never had to face what they told you today. You are so good at focusing on what is important. True, this could be worse, but that's not much consolation. I'm sure the Stage IV group will provide you with the support they are uniquely qualified to offer while we continue to walk beside you as you fight this. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers always. Maura

Kat, I wanted to check in to see if you posted on how your appointment went. You sure had alot of information to take in. It seems like you have absorbed what you have to, and now make your plans to move forward.
Your attitude is incredible and you are one special lady. Thank you for your birthday wishes. So very thoughtful of you to even think of this, given what you are dealing with.
Like the rest of our great team here, I so wish you weren't having to deal with this. I have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as you work through this.
Take Care
Cathy

Kat - I wish, more than anything, that you were not facing this again.
I wish that Team January was in IL with you and were able to offer more than cyber hugs.
I wish, wish, wish that nobody would ever have to hear the diagnosis of BC again.

Kat ... {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Oh, dear Kat.. there was some good news/bad news for you. But you can do this. I did read somewhere that some places are having a problem getting taxol, so maybe you should talk to your onc about their supply, and if there is a risk your treatment will be interrupted. Also, about the weekly, vs q3wks....just to set your mind at ease. I had both. Mass prayers enfolding you.
-
Kat, I haven't been on the site in months and hate hearing the news of a recurrence. God can and does perform miracles. I pray for complete healing and many years of healthy living. God Bless You and yours.

Kat!!!!! I'm glad you have answers, just wish....well, just wish there weren't such a rotten thing such as cancer at all!!! grrrrrr....... There's nothing I can say that the other gals haven't already said.....praying, praying, praying......asking for a Christmas miracle for you. Praying for the chemo to do its job. To attack what it needs to attack. For it to destroy what it needs to destroy. For you to stay healthy while undergoing the treatment. For your family's needs to be met while you're recovering (wish I lived closer to bring you meals!!). For your daughters and husband as they help you. For your strength. For the wisdom and discernment of your medical team. For you and your family to be able to enjoy this holiday season and enjoy each other and the love you have for each other.
Blessings, love, and Merry Christmas to all my J-team very dear friends....I love you all!! robin
-
((Kat)) - I cry easily right now and I'm tearing up right now - both from thinking of you and your family and the path you are on - would that the treatment and healing were behind you! And Debbie's post - her blog post was my Christmas Eve service tonight. Bless you all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS + BLESSED HOLIDAYS to one and all.
Thank you for your kind words in response to my efforts to articulate our 'journey' to the wider world. As you know, my "work" is to be the happy, happy lady. I always wrestle with 'telling it like it is' and you can see what I ended up with..... which as we know is just the tip of the ice-berg. I do feel as tho I need to keep everything 'laundered' and cleaned up for my teacher-friends who are the regular readers.
I've wrestled with the thought of having a seperate blog that would only be BC specific and I could just bare-my-heart, BUT there are only so many hours in the day. I can barely keep this one up to date. Perhaps in the end its good for the teacher-readers, to realize that we do move forward, but that we are forever impacted.
In any case, tonight I could see that from my Google analytics that someone came to my blog today by typing in the search: "When you are mourning during Christmas." So if there is any good that come from our collective journey, it is by sharing the story.
Cleo. It's so good to see you back here in the team-spirit.
We've had a lovely, quiet + delightful day.
Kat. We continue to surround you with prayers. I bet this week will involve 'research' on your part to get familiar with the program ahead.
Sending you much love and support. Let us know what you learn and how we can be of help.

I'm sending you mountains of strength and healing and whatever you need to get rid of every bit of cancer in your body. I'm glad there is a group of ladies full of information and open arms to help you in this new territory. We will always be here for you.....
Holding you in my thoughts and prayers ♥((((((((((((((Kat)))))))))))))))))) ♥.....
We lost Smudge early Christmas morning.....can't stop crying......our sweet pup was given the extra burden of severe pancreatis with cancer and it was just too much......

Joining Team january. I go on Jan. 3 for bmx (no reconstruction or TE at this point). If the nodes, margins and scans are clear, I will get the go ahead for reconstruction.
I am exhausted.

Laura I am so sorry for your loss of your dog. We aren't able to keep our pets nearly as long as we would like. Sending you ((((hugs and comfort)))).
regenschirm this thread is ladies that had their surgeries in January 2010. You are welcome to join us, but you would probably find ladies that are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings you are, but going through on the January 2012 thread.
-
Oh Sweet Laura..
I am so saddened by your loss. I wish I could hug you in real time.
God took Smudge on Christmas morning so that can only be a good thing....I'm happy that his suffering is over and he is bathing in the light of Graham's bright spirit.
Love to both you and Andrew...

I was "offline" for the holidays since I told DH I'd take a bc "break" and try not to worry about things for a few days. Of course that is easier said than done and you were on my mind and in my prayers the whole time.
There are no words to express my heartfelt care. Please know you are cared about and we all are here for you.

((Laura)) ((Kat))
I erased everything I started - it all sounds so hokey. Nothing I can say can make up for a rotten diagnosis, or the loss of a dear one (especially the loving furry ones).
Thinking of you,
Elaine

I will hope and pray for good things to come out of this day for you and your darling husband. Hang in there. You two are like Kevin and myself. We just keep bouncing back a one bad diagnosis off of another. The game is getting old!
