    I'm B-A-C-K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Friday check in = 3 points

    Weight 142.8 = 0 points

    [I'm proud of myself after 10 days on the road, eating out every meal and 3 Thanksgivings across the countryside that I'm not that drastically from where I was last time. We have a couple weeks here, with access to our various treadmill machines!!!! So I intend to close out the year dedicated to ELAB.]

    Got to my aerobic class today + treadmill yesterday = 5 points

    Water = 2 points

    Extra = 1 point Re-dedication all over again, back to gym, back to class.

    Now I can't remember who posted the NPR link. We heard that report while on the road, so we've been dividing the grams of sugar by 4 formula = SCARY!!!!! Was it you Zogo or Badger?? It was such an informative interview.

    We also just learned that my McDonald's serving of oatmeal has 32 grams!!!!!!!! In other words the equivalent of 8 teaspoons of sugar added. Here I was being so proud of myself for that menu selection. GEEEEEEEEESH. They put sugar in EVERYthing.

    Information is power..............................

    Let's get moving birdies!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congrats to the birdies hitting new all-time ELAB lows. WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

    I had a few rough weeks with my weight, and exercise, and stress levels.  I think I am finally heading in the right direction.

    Roadrunner checking in on a Friday - 3 points

    weight back down to 185.2 - 2 points

    water - 5 points

    exercise - 6 points

    Total - 16 points

    The Christmas cookie baking season has begun, and there is a family wedding the week after Christmas.  This is going to be an interesting month.

    Check in = 3 points
    Weight up .6 = 0 points
    Water = 7 points
    Exercise = 8.5 points

    Total = 18.5 points

    Up and down, up and down, up and down...... I need to break this "plateau". Now that Thanksgiving, 2 birthdays and several events are over, maybe I can get back on being diligent! Daily diligence! Over and over and over!

    24 pts for exercise - incredibly difficult work week - not high aerobic, but strenuous

    34 pts - sounds higher than it really is, but I'm exhausted

    Roadrunner checking in

    Missed the Friday check in so no points for that.... Was extremely tired ~ caught another "cold"... Not sure why they say caught a cold, when nobody wants to do that!

    Exercise for the week 12 points.

    Water intake - 7 points

    Weight the same - 1 point ~ and you might know this AM it was down.... and yes I'm a scale junkie.. I weigh every day hoping to see some progress.

    Extra credit... ate the cake at work birthday party but did go to the PCP for the beginning of this congestion so I'll take 1 point for that.

    Total for the week 21

    2hands, I'm with you on the up/down not making any real difference in the weight. Zogo you're doing great... give us some pointers ~ again!

    7 pts water

    0 pts for check in

    Is it Friday somewhere?

    Can I have 3 points???

    LOL.

    Just popping in at BCO and realized that I missed Fri last week with absolutely no reason what-so-ever. I am spending more and more time daily on the computer -- which I'm not sure is a brilliant plan.

    In any case, just missed the birdie water-cooler chatter.

    We're at my parents right this minute and while they take naps I have a moment with the little screen.

    Wishing everyone well and progress.

    ((((((((Elaine))))))))

    And hugs to everyone round the bird-house.

    Thanks, y'all - you put a smile on my face.

    We still don't have a single light twinkling, no tree, few presents.  It's not lack of money for once - it's a lack of feelin' the season.  I miss church - (long story) - singing the hymns and hearing the story surrounding Jesus' birth always has helped put me in the mood to celebrate.  I wish this area had a good Solstice celebration - that could help kick it off for me, too.   I'm just not feelin' the joy of life right now.  I feel like crying about 50% of the time. This year, I'm feeling my cancerversary a lot, I'm hormonal as hell, my kids are a real disappointment, and my partner was so tied up with schoolwork that we barely saw each other until this past weekend, which we spent running around doing social stuff. (and I'm trying to not eat a lot of junk)  I'm really not in the mood - any suggestions?

    bookart--my recommendation is to just say you don't feel up to celebrating much this year.  It's not unusual to get hit with this kind of emotional reaction once all the business of surgery, rads, chemo etc is over.  Do what you feel like doing and let the rest go.  Sounds like you lost one of your biggest supports--church attendance--and that is only going to add to the depression this year.  Depression is common in us survivors, talk to your doc about it, an antidepressant and counseling can help tremendously, take it from someone who's been there and is still working through it! Bookart, I so understand your not feelin' the season!  I am doing better this year than last year, despite recurrence, but it is still sometimes difficult.  Have you been journaling lately?  I have been neglecting it for a few months, and find that has always helped me sort out my feelings.  I often end up crying the entire time I am writing, but by the end, I can let go of some of the thoughts for a while.  I thinnk sometimes I won't LET myself be happy because I don't want to lose the anger for some reason, and having it all written down lets me let go of it because I know it is still there, safe if I need it again, and I won't forget it.  Also, remember you are loved, even though the people in your immediate area may seem difficult.  Prayers for peace and healing for you, my sister.

    Oh Elaine, it shows how really strong you are that you went to seek help from the doctor. Sometimes, we think we can do it all, and when we can't, it is good to ask for help. I hope the meds will help you, especially to get through the holidaze and the rest of this month. Peace and hugs.

    Elaine, glad you have a doc who understands.  There are LOTS of different antidepressants out there, and not every one works for everyone, so if you don't respond to the one you are on, don't give up - it might take a few tries before you find one that works and you can tolerate, but you have taken the first most important step!  Hugs, and check in here frequently so we know how you are doing.  We are here for you.

    Thanks, y'all.  Big sigh.  Trying not to cry.  Did hit the gym this week; took the dogs for a good walk today - I do know that exercise boosts endorphins; maybe that will help.  Laughing

    Checking in for Rockin Robins:

    Friday:               3 pts

    Weight(167.2)     2 pts

    E-Lab Low          1 pt

    Water                 7+ pts

    Exercise             5 pts

    Extra Credit        1 pt    Got my very first colonoscopy.  I attribute most of my success this week to that.  Tons of water and weight loss.  They found a few polyps.  So I guess this will be a regular thing.  Gaahck.  I get the test results back today. Keeping my fingers crossed for benign.

    Checking in with the Flock:

    Weight down again = 0 point

    Exercising = 2 points (barely moving this week - very fatigued)

    Friday Check-in = 3 points

    Meeting daily water intake = 4 points

    "Extra Credit" points: 1 point.  Saw my MO yesterday, got no answers.  I am beginning to think the combination of tamoxifen and effexor are not good for my weight or energy.  Both can cause fatigue and both can cause weight loss. *sigh*

    Total: 10 points

    Shopping not done (barely started), but I heard gift cards are appreciated, so all the neices & nephews are getting Barnes & Noble or i-Tunes cards.  And I think so will everyone else! LOL
