Hello from northern IL.(just minutes frm WI). I was told I had breast cancer on Oct 28 at age 39. All my test so far have come back negative .
Had my Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy done today and meeting with plastic surgeon on Friday. I could have gotten a lumpectomy but my doc said it would be tricky due to my small size(32a). So I am having a double mastectomy. I'll find out Thursday about today's results.

Just weird having a blue boob and pee. Lol

    Welcome Lisa!  I had completely forgotten about the blue pee until I read your post. LOL.  I found my lump at age 39 - about a month before my 40th birthday and was diagnosed about a week after my birthday.  I hope you get some good news from your biopsy!

    I was also Stage 1, grade 3 diagnosed at 39.  I had a lumpectomy, I was lucky it was fairly simple with clean margins. Hang in there, and keep us posted on how it goes.  Have you had an oncotype?  Do you know the tumor characteristics?

    I had a lumpsectomy my tumor was a stage 1 2.1 and my grade was a 3 er positive. My nodes were clear and all clear margins. Next week I go to a oncologist to discuss treatment. Does anyone out there have an idea what I will need to risk chances of the cancer coming back. I also wonder if any of this has to do with er because 8 weeks ago I had uterus cancer very early stage all i needed was surgery. Great year wish it was over!!!

    Does anyone know if the grade of the tumor is so important? It is now out !!! I had a lymesectomy if I did not have it removed I know it was a aggresive kind.

    HI Lisa

    One thing I have found out on here is every doctor/clinic has their own treatment plan idea and each of our tumors have so many variables!

    First the tumor grade is important because it determines how fast the tumor grows and also how well it reacts to chemo and other treatments. With grade 3 tumors, they are fast growing, but because they grow fast, they respond well to chemo.  

    One test that might be suggested is an Oncotype. I encourage you to have this test done. It will give the doctors more information about how well your cancer will respond to chemo and it might even help to determine that chemo will not benefit you.

    I wish you the best. Your doctor will determine a course of treatment for you and you can have some input. Don't hesitate to get a second opinion. Being in No. Ill, there are many good facilities. I am in WI but contemplated going to Northwestern. Good Luck!

    lisa- the same thing happened to me-uterine cancer and 6 yrs later breast. I was suspicious-2 estrogen driven tumors at a relarively young age. I also have had thyroid disease since adolescence-and a large head (never fit into hats) did some research and found out about cowdens syndrome. Got genetically tested and I had a disease causing mutation. I suggest you go to the cleveland clinic genomics website, where they describe cowdens and PTEN mutations. If you meet criteria, you may want to get genetic counseling and then see if you qualify for CC study-they will then do full genetic testing for free. Good luck. PM me with any questions

    Your diagnosis sounds so similiar to mine.  I was diagnosed in June.  I had a dmx in Sept and tissue expanders swapped for implants in Dec. I also recommend the Oncotype test I did it and it showed didn't need chemo!  Best of luck to you!!!  I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.
