Here is a picture of the tree at my Dad's house, me with some of my dental hygiene classmates at the party I had there on Sat. and the decorated steps going to the 2nd floor.  The party was a success.

Gorgeous Marybe!!! For some reason, I've always pictured your Dads house with the walls down to the studs because you always say you're renovating it. To see such a beautiful tree and stair set is very refreshing!

Wave, I know I'm late on this but I hope you got a low score on the oncotype test.  Let us know when you can.

Oh 3jays, my heart just breaks for you and your trials with your sons.  Nobody uses a wheelchair if they don't need it, period. And they're depriving their children of priceless experiences with you and Murray, and so much love that they'd always remember.  You know all that, though.  Things always seem to hurt so much more over the Christmas season, too.  Hugs and prayers for you.

Marybe, I also pictured your dad's house as being sorta down to the studs, and boy was I surprised!  The tree and the staircase are lovely.  Glad you had a good time with your classmates!

Chabba, your stories are hilarious!  I don't have any rodent stories, and I'm happy not to.  We won't talk about the snake skin blowing down on me from the roof!  Guess he ate our rodents.

Lisa, I love the peach colored roses and that one's a beauty.  Glad you can post pics from one computer, anyhow.

Hugs and good night to all.

    Kathy

I'm terribly scared of mice - I sure enjoyed your mouse stories but I love the "shoot-the-rat" story - I keep about a dozen traps set in the winter since that seems to be the time they are looking for warmth.  Hubby has a 357 so I don't think I'll ask him to shoot any though....

Lisa, that's one beautiful rose. Thanks for posting it.

3jays - so sorry your son is being such a self-centered jerk. I wish I could come introduce him to my attitude adjuster, better known as a 2x4! Up side the head. I know you probably love him anyway, but kids can be so cruel and thoughtless. Do take a break from him and all of his hurtful nonsense. You and those grandchildren deserve so much better than he is evidently able to give right now. Know you are in my prayers. Hope you can have a pleasant Christmas without him this year. You need to concentrate on getting you well and that does not include dealing with all of his stress.

thank you all for your encouragement, and prayers... yes, it will be a quiet christmas, i think this year.. i live by some of the principles in the 12 steps, one being knowing i can't change other people, and what they do.. ive been doing miserably with that one, im afraid.. trying to convince him to include us, is so not what i need to do!!!so, im trying to find the acceptance part of the prayer, and just let it be...

hard to do with a 4 and 2 yr old, though...

Allyson: it warms my heart to see with your GD!!! i know it CAN work.. just not me, not right now...so, i'm enjoying everyone elses!!!

thanks for all the support. i can't just CAN'T let this to get to me, like it did last year.. im too old, too sick to keep up on it....love and holiday cheer to all....

Well Lisa I'm expecting a series on Christmas plants as it appears we have a cold front here. We're all covering plants and wondering what just happened to our wisteria. I looked out and in one day every leaf has dropped leaving us with a pile of future compost. I come here just to check your photos but am hoping your feeling well and enjoying the season. With your attitude I'm sure you will.

    Alyson-I'm jealous. Very nice.

Barbara A- You actually created the feeling of the holidays with your pic of the tree. That took a little time I'm guessing.

Jazz, yes the tree took several hours. there is a LOT of stuff on it.

OK, friends, the onc wants me to get a bone scan becasue of the rib pain. So that will be Friday morning. So I will have all weekend to worry. The hell with that! I have backstage passes to see Michael McDonald and America at Ruth Eckerd Hall, which is a nice small venue. CAN'T wait. MD is sooooo hot.

I am going to press hard to have the radiologist doing the scan give me a preliminary report so I don't freak out all weekend. Off to the hated job.

Thanks for the good wishes all.

I started a thread about my new treatment, Between the devil and the deep blue sea, so I would not have to be posting over and over on other threads about what is going on with me.  I will still post on here about happier things, like decorating for Xmas, and bitch about others, like my husband and dog pee.   Hope you all are doing well.

Dog Pee!  I am surely with you there Marybe.   Why can't they just dehydrate it and put into little tins for us. I would be happy to pick up the little tins next to the legs of the dining room table or the skirts of my favorite plaid chairs.

Hoping the dogs make better New Years resolutions this year.

    Love Ginger

Ginger, Doubt if they will.....mine need to wear pants....or at least the one does.  Thinking of you today Barb and saying prayers.  There is a possibilty it is a cracked rib....sometimes you can get one just by coughing.

Thanks, Marybe. I wish it was from coughing but I haven't had a cold in three years. I'm back from having the tracer injected. I go back at noon. I hate waiting but made a deal with the tech to give me a hint about wheter it looked good or bad.

I told the tech I would be worried sich all weekend and he said he would lose his job. I asked him to give me a hint. When the camera had scanned the ribs, he said 'Looking Good.' Then when I was done I asked if I was having a great weekend or a nice weekend. He said GREAT!! WOO HOO!!
