    Beaglesgirl,

Hang in there, I just had a total hysterectomy/oopherectomy with the Di Vinchi robotic.  I had it on Nov 4th, stayed 1 night in the hospital and then home, the worst thing for me is you can not do anything  for at least 6 weeks, even though I feel ok I just have to hang out and not do to much.  The worst thing for me right now is the joint ack's I have been having which did not even start until after radiation so  other than that the surgery in not bad at all.  You are getting there Yaaaaa, I am with you  I want all of this over before 2012 so I can put this breast cancer shit all behind me and know I have done everything I can to help prevent reaccurance and I feel good about it.  Keep me posted on how you are doing.

    Lots of hugs your way

    Hi Ladies,

I started radiation on my birthday - Nov 7.  So far, so good.  I just feel a bit fatigued today (6th day).  I'm glad to hear all the good news on the board.  Goodluck to those with upcoming surgeries.

I hope everyone is getting hyped up (in a good way) with the upcoming holidays!

I was thinking of you all as I lay in the hospital this weekend for my hysterectomy/salpingo oopherectomy. I had a rough time staying ahead of the pain after the surgery and was in a desperate place flailing around to get relief. I had to go back to the tools I had really gotten good at during my most harrowing days during chemo.

I'm sure that this pain got out of control from me because my body has not had rest since I was diagnosed. Its likely that my lack of mental strength is starting to show. Surgery was Fri AM and its Sun AM and I feel like me again... like this is going to be fine. In fact I have my final week of rads starting on Monday and I will be there with bells on.

So the skills we learned together here at our most painful moments in life will actually help us the rest of our lives. Maybe with our continued struggle with our health maybe in other aspects. But my patience has been honed my focus is sharp and my faith in my own strength is big like the sky. Thank you all wonderful ladies for taking this life journey with me, learning and sharing.

    love and peace to all

    Hi Beaglesgirl,

Glad to hear everything went good with the surgery, we are in the same boat I had my surgery on Nov 4th same thing, I guess if we get rid of everything we don't need then we beat cancer to it.... Anyway good luck and enjoy your holidays.

    good afternoon everyone!

well this week turned out to be more pain than I thought it would but I pushed through it and one day at a time it has gotten better. Plils I hope you are feeling well after your surgery too- I agree about beating the cancer to the punch!

Tomorrow is my last day of Rads, I did it! Thank you all so much. I remember the night before my first chemo tx I had a blast of anxiety that somehow I would forget something- I got on here and realised that all they needed was ME to show up.

We were all in this tiny boat of hope about to face this big storm together. We did, the storm sucked- some days we all had to turn our attention and faith to one person on the little boat because she was ready to jump but together we kept going holding hands and everybody stayed in for their duration.

I think about each of you on occasion. Wonder if your txs are going well or are over, always pray that the beast is at bay and that your spirits are high. Please keep in touch via my blog. send my your contact info or connect with me on facebook through it.

I'll keep my oar on the wall to remind me to keep paddling, if not for me for the others on the boat.

    Love and Peace!

So good to hear from everyone! I finished chemo and bmx. Radiation will start in Jan. I had a complete pathological response to chemo, so that was pretty exciting!

Beaglesgirl-did you do hysterectomy during rads? I have been thinking of this as I need to do it at some point. I will probably wait until I am done with rads though, sounds like alot to go through! Funny you mention the just show up thing. My docs were so happy about my results and kept saying good job, we're so proud of you and I would say all I did was just show up, you guys did all the work, They were so sweet, they said that I did most of the work by getting through the side effects, by keeping at everything.

Bak94, I am so happy you made it to your bmx - gosh you worked so hard to get to that point in your treatment plan... so many months of struggle! Congrats!

Yes I did my hysterectomy a week before I  finished  radiation. The most challenging part was I didn't consider the condition my breast would be in by the end of tx. so here I am with my laproscopic pain, burns and plus they want me on lovenox - a daily injection you give youself in the thigh- blood thinner.( precaution)

I might have done it right at the beginning but scheduling it for the very end has proved to be quite painful.

love and hugs to a very strong woman!!

One year ago today I received a phone call that instantly changed my life and the lives of my family and friends. I call it my cancerversary. Looking back on this year I survived 3 surgeries, 16 chemo treatments, 36 radiation treatments and countless blood tests and scans. I lost my hair, some of my nails, and a lot of weight. Through it all, I learned  a lot about myself, my family and my friends. I cried a lot, prayed even more.  I laughed a little and got out of bed to fight for my life every single day! I made some new friends, watched a few old ones walk away because it was too much and more than anything I learned to love every minute of my blessed life with my family and friends!  I had cancer but cancer DID NOT have me!

I couldn't have done it without you all!

MamaV-You did a great job getting through all this crap! It certainly changes us, doesn't it? I want to be one of those people that says I got something positive out of it, that I learned alot. I have met alot of wonderful people (especially here at bco). It certainly sets your priorities straight!

Hi everyone. Glad to see all the news and updates.

I will start rads after the first of the year as I had a minor setback. I had to have my drain re-inserted due to fluid build-up. Waiting for the damn thing to stop producing so much fluid (seroma). Ahhhhh. Patience.......

So, everyone please have a merry Christmas and happy holiday.

bak - I haven't found too much positive from this YET - but I do know that I am already being put to work!  I believe God gives us things to go through to learn lessons but also to give us the experience to help others get through the same things.  He is definitely using me - like it or not!

Just an update on me. I found out that part of the leg pain that I had all of November was because I had a fracture femur. I had an MRI on the 15 that found it, had surgery the 16 to replace the head of the femur. Released from the hospital on the 23.

So Happy to be home for the holidays.
