Celtic, joining you for Witch Creek HARD apple cider, thank you. I know too much about un motivated...too much pig fest, not enough bike fest. There is always tomorrow.

Steph, my advise -one good run and one good wine is good enough. We are beautiful regardless, beauty is within.

    Happy slouching!

It's a bit more complicated than just a dwinking thread, although that is certainly a major component!

Ok...so I finally looked up the original Slouchfest thread...and I have to wait til NEXT OCTOBER to slouch with y'all in person? I will be there. No, really. Don't care for bicycles, never tried a motorcycle, unless I win the lottery, not sure how I will get there, but...I *WILL*. I could always start early and ride in on a horse, slouching in the saddle, naturally. But if I *do* win the lottery, I will be showing up in a vintage Porsche 911 targa convertible.

FWIW, I don't run unless I'm being chased. I am thinking of working out and losing some lbs after my DIEP, but I need to maintain enough bellyfat for a D-cup, and since I am thinking of having my remaining breast removed at the same time, I am thinking maybe putting on some more pounds so I can have two big ones, maybe enough for DD's, is a good idea. So obviously working out is absolutely out of the question at the moment. And also I am resolving to help ensure the success of my DIEP with lots of beer and lots of greasy bacon and some chocolate cake for me while I am slouching. And whole milk, and more beer.

I am certainly glad to hear about the new alcohol study, which simply proves what many of us have believed for so long. Now we need further studies about the risks of exercise. Please? They must be out there...And I now know where to find BC women willing to participate in this type of study....

Celtic, really enjoy this thread. Claire, thanks for the pics of the tutus, seeing IS believing. Can I join virtually? I am somewhere now virtually, looking for another fresh location to slouch.

weesa, a friend from another thread just told me about the slouchfest.  Not until next year in October?  Maybe there could be a springfling fest?  I am in NC and several friends(tenn and sc) from the boards (40-ish crowd), have talked about getting together in NC mountains, where is the pub?  I believe we have chatted on the Ambien thread.

Hey Christine, Originally slouchfest came as a result of my confessing that I wasn't a conscientious survivor in many respects, and many others responded that they weren't either. Then since it was the dreaded commercial atrocity known as pinktober, it was decided the slouchers and friends, and even conscientious survivors, could congregate at my family's pub in western carolina every Saturday in October for free drinks and pub food. No supplements could be smuggled in and nobody could wear pink.I had lots of local slouchers join me for a debauched afternoon where we defiled every known suggestion for how to survive bc. Alas, the only person from this stage 3 forum to arrive was Celtic. However the notion of all of us being bad together has caught on.I will PM you directions. Don't see any reason this kind of celebrating should be restricted to the month of October.

weesa, I like the way you think.  I don't ever think there should be restrictions on celebrating and being a slouch.  Pink is not my color and I love drinks and food.  I don't take any suppliments (except ambien, which I take early and often).  My friends and I are stage 2s and 3.

Agree Weesa that not nearly enough debauchery here.  Of all sorts.  Seattle is also the place for "enlightened living".

Just finished up the Cornish Game Hen with local veggies.  Most were reheated.  Had with a good WA State red wine.  More than one glass.

I did go out for a walk in the storm, but had to drag myself out to the Sound to see it in full force.  So enjoyed the full Byronic experience.

I am restricting pink to the hot new YSL eyeshadow combo, but that might just be a purple?  So a touch of Goth.

I am up to some other "naughty" things tonight, but unfortunately Main Squeeze isn't around to participate and not nearly as much fun solo Innocent

Weesa, I have family in your area and would love to check out one of your fun n naughty slouch fests. I am so angry at BC, especially when it hits those of us who tried to do everything right to maintain optimum health. I often ask myself why I even keep pushing for a healthy life style. I would rather slouch any and every day rather then cycle and work out. Since my dx, I have taken a 180 spin backwards. And I am proud of it :-).

Claire, I am blushing Embarassed. Where is Main Squeeze this evening?  Does this term mean your love interest, yes? Sorry but many of your west coast gals speak another language. Or I am just too naive lol.

This is a fun thread, thanks for this. It sure helps with the misery this disease causes, especially for those who are still fighting. God Bless!

Off with daughter and fam.....  I didn't get to go which is OK.  I had a wonderful weekend anyway.

Anyway, I didn't get my good slouch-in last night as someone left a pot on the stove in the lounge (evidently too much slouching on their end) so the building fire alarm went off.  The firemen showed up pronto and we all got to hang outside.

Now reality is setting in as I have a conference call in an hour and need to get dressed/exercised.  Back to reality and that four letter word.....WORK,

Is anyone slouching with me tonight? Claire? Weesa? Celtic?  Anyone? I have worked hard today and slouching alone is just not fun Frown

Good morning!  I missed last night's slouchfest because I turned in early.  BlueCowgirl....unless I have some very early AM task, I am asleep at 4:44 AM.

Suspect I am not quite awake yet if I am making these comments Innocent

I did wake up to an early AM email from one of the gentlemen I am writing the journal artical with.  A diagram about different types of data.  I closed it up and poured myself another cup of strong tea.

Now, I did say yes to that shade of pink, but it's part of an eyeshadow quad which looks quite Goth on.  Mitigates the effects.

Need to get moving for the webcast I am about to attend.  And start my portion of the journal article.  (I will also be editing as write better than either of my partners in crime.)

Will check in later to slouch big time.  I made a major soup last night, so don't even need to cook tonight.  YAY!!!!

Cycle-babe - Yes, I had a pretty slouchy Monday night. Instead of going to the gym, I went to all-you-can-eat pizza night at Mountain Mike's. Yum! I had a 1:00 meeting at work yesterday, which I used as an excuse for not taking my lunch time walk. I think I'm getting too good at slouching! I even forgot my supplements a couple of times over the Thanksgiving weekend.

In the meantime, my pants are getting tighter and tighter. Frown

Forgot to mention that I have 4 parties in 8 days coming up.  The one I am really looking forward to is Sunday at the wine bar.  For Wine Club members, and the eats should be great.  Not to mention the wine.  Mmmmmmm...................

Why the soup.  Fortunately, should be sunny and great cycling weather this weekend.

Today, I have an errand to do that will require a three mile walk.  I think I will make a stop at Nordstrom to buy the lipstick that goes with the fab gloss I bought last week.

Otherwise, I am alternating work with slouching.  Thanks so much for this great event, Weesa!

Weesa - I've been a little slouchy since my last bad sinus infection in September. You aided and abetted a little (with my full cooperation!), but the onset and continuation of my slouchiness are totally on me!

lol, cow girl, "take a taxi". I used to ride 25 miles b4 BC....now, I just get a ride. Or cycle 10miles before I feel like running my man off a cliff. uhhh, a story in itself, will spare you the details.....brb

I walked anyway and feel just great.  Suspect the wine and soup w/rolls and butter for dinner might have something to do with things.  Nothing like a hearty soup this time of year.

My former business partner who has been looking for 5 months just landed.  There may be an opportunity for me as well.  Here's hoping.  (I slouch better when well funded.)

It's supposed to be sunny this weekend so already planning my rides.  Need to get back to a total of 60 miles.

Have lined up the lady at the Nordstrom makeup counter to do something special for the Wine Bar party on Sunday.  Now there's a bit of planning.

Feet are slouching big time as found a nice wool rug for under my computer chair.  I can dumpster dive with the best, and it was there when I took the recycling down.  Feels fab.

    Slouch on..... - Claire

Thanks, Cycle-babe! I'm over the sinus infection now. When I get a bout of it, I pretty much have to slouch for a while because I can't breathe and I feel cruddy. Unfortunately, I tend to keep on slouching! I have to summon my inner drill sergeant to put myself back on track!

Celtic, so glad you are feeling better!

Claire - you are funny, "dumpster diving". I've never heard that term but picture you diving head first into a dumpster lol. I am sure that you do not mean that literally. Before I moved to OR, I lived in an affluent town. I used to take different routes to work depending on when "trash" day is. I picked up a lot of beautiful patio furniture, spring was a great time to "dumpster dive". I would always try to hide my face. I would drive slowly and when i spotted something along the curb, I would get out of my car, clad in my dress clothes and put so many things in my trunk. i would not admit this if I was not slouching lol.

I used to jog ten miles, five days a week before my old knees starting giving out on me. I started cycling with my DH when I gave up jogging and think I could easily ride more miles but he does not let me ride alone. He tries to be controlling. One of these days, he will find himself controlling the spiders on our walls after I move back East. Sorry, not a topic for a slouchers thread.

Hoping all of you laides are feeling good and doing well. If anyone is still slouching at this late hour, let me know and I will send cyber rounds to you. God, I just love this thread, thank you ladies for allowing me to join you. Happy slouching, my new friends. Here is a toast to all of you... Cheers Smile

Cycle-babe.....you need to get yourself to Seattle where we have figured out the slouching/exercise ratio.  Reminder that I need to book Land of the Sweets, the Burlesque Nutcracker, so that I get to see it this year.  I missed last year's performance.  This is the swinging "party" where the well-known ballet numbers deconstruct to where the dancers are wearing very little.  BTW - this is serious dance as opposed to "stripping".  So much fun if you know the original.

Tons of other fun stuff to do in Seattle, too.  Haven't run into the carolers in Victorian Dress yet this season.

At last night's building party, we were talking about having a furniture swap, then decided that dragging large items would be too much work.  So the dumpster area works more than OK.  This is a fine New England tradition as many towns there set aside a part of the dump (ahem, transfer station) for items that can be recycled.

I told the other person not to buy furniture for her balcony until she had checked out the dumpster area for several months.  Spring is a ways off, and why pay $250.  You can do some great slouching for that amount of money.

I furnished my apartment via Craigslist as I left my stuff with my ex.  My best story was going to a self-storage in Ballard (neighborhood in Seattle) to meet a guy to test out a pillow top mattress prior to buying!!!  It was brand new.....and a wonderful buy.

My new upscale office chair is one a former neighbor left behind.  The maintenance guy saved it for me to replace the worn Staples clunker.

I need to get to work now.  Late start as far too much quality sleep on that pillow top. - Claire

Claire, forgive me for saying but umm, are you hitting on me? lol. you are funny.

any slouchers in the house tonight? i cycled 15 miles while chanting unforgivable words. darn darn darn (ha, feeling like Herman Munster) lol. Too much wine,  my DH does not "get it". Do any of my fellow sloucher's have the same sentiments about the male species??

    Female = stability

    Male = instability

Do I want or need a man in my life?

Celtic and Weesa, you gals are so cool. Hope to see you both in NC.
