Hey Linda, miss you!
How about this for a gtg opportunity .
http://www.thescarproject.org/exhibition/
Anyone know more about this? Fashion photog does topless photos of BC girls 35 & under. Powerful pics. NYC exhibition opens end of Oct. Opening night (Fri Oct 28) has $100 benefit tix, I'm not sure whether or not I can afford it (thinking it over) but am wondering where the $$ goes. If it's just to support the photog, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Thinking that over, too.
Sat Oct 29 you can do a walk-through w the photog for $30 at 1pm, the rest of the time the show is up (thru Nov 6th) it seems to be admission w donation.
Does anyone know more about this? Cookie, Debra, the Young Survivor folks?
Pfft. I'm feeling older & older!

-
Cookie- I would love to go with you, but I have to work. I am now working on the weekends in a realty office that gets a lot of foot traffic on Sundays. I wish I could go. I hope others will. Much love to you all.
-
hope all is well SW!
-
Ok...last call!!! Will check at 12:30 before bed!
-
Hi Ladies - I miss you all....Let's get together ....
-
Aww....sorry, wish I could have made it in Oct. I was too busy working like a madwoman, traveling, and training for the NYC Marathon! I survived it yesterday, despite needing medical attention for knee problems during the race, and I finished. It was the end of a long year for me.
I would love to see you all again soon. Am probably having a revision surgery on my reconstruction just before Thanksgiving. So maybe late Nov/early Dec could work. But not the first weekend of Dec -- I'm out of town.
-
Congrats on the Marathon, City!!!
-
Anyone free this Sunday?
we could go to Komen Holiday House

-

-

What is going on with the NY Ladies out there? Nobody is responding. I wish I was free Cookie. I would go with you in a heart beat. The place looks great. I looked it up.
-
Sorry Cookie, I'm swamped or I'd go. I've always wanted to go to Neue Galerie & Cafe Sabarsky, too! : (
Just started a new crazy job and I need to make sure I have enough appropriately formal clothing to get me through a workweek - I gotta go shopping, which doesn't please me one bit. I wonder if it's at all possible for me to do both (shop and do the show house)....let me think about it, but there prob aren't enough hours in a Sunday.
I ended up taking a quick weekend vaca in LA instead of the scar thing, and now the scar thing is gone. Kinda pissed, I'd wanted to see it. It ended up being a perfect weekend though, so I guess I made the right choice.
-
Sweaty- so good to hear you are doing well. New job? Cool! Would love to hear about it.
-
Not doing all that fab, am about to schedule a d&c to determine if I'm now playing the endometrial cancer game, thanks to Tamoxifen.
Just a new temp job doing the same nonsense but for a different litigation/law firm/client/temp agency. Have worked with these folks before, on a related matter. 12 hour days, blah blah blah, but not at the firm itself, which has a more formal dress code.
-
oh well, put it out to my support group and friends....guess I will go solo or just watch football!
-
BTW I read the menu for CS and it looks AMAZING..the beverages alone! Maybe we GTG in the future. Tomorrow is really the only day I can get to Komen, I went last year, it is nice. They actually have all sorts of weeknight events there that do not cost extra to get in. Wine tastings and shopping nights. I just can't get there then.
-
Cookiegal -- Aw, wish I could have gone...to any or all of it. Just had my revision surgery yesterday, so I'm taking it easy. Although, I have to say, I feel surprising good...maybe good enough to go to the wine tasting at the show house Tues night...but maybe I shouldn't press my luck!
Sweatyspice, yay for a job but boo for those hours. I've been working some crazy hours like that myself lately. No fun. And a big fat NONONO to endometrial cancer! Sending lots of positive thoughts your way.
-
I did end up going to the Komen house with a friend.
It was a much better expereience than last year. I saw all the floors, and met a lot of the designers. One was OBSESSED with my LE glove.
They also have food in the cafe, last year it was just sweets. For a thirty dollar donation it's kind of cool. The "pop up shop" was nothing to write home about.
Back into the hills..........

Thanks for the report, Cookie!
-
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
