Good evening all...I got my dx today.  IDC low grade 1 stage 1, small 5mm.  Dr. said he could do a lumpectomy and we'd talk about radiation.  We are meeting next week to discuss and he will have results of HR & HER then.  Was hoping for something better...like B9....but it is what it is, and I will handle it just like every other crisis in my life.  I can't control what has already happened, but I can control how I react going forward.

Thanks everyone for all of your support while I navigated this diagnosis...all the way back from Sept.

Oh my God Jo............When you said put the 2nd load in the same water, I roared........I remember having to make a decision which clothes went in first (the least dirty of course), and then deciding which ones would go in next.............I remember before changing the water for "more loads", we would always wash the work clothes in the water that had been used a few times.....................funny , funny, funny........................could you see the "Princesses" today having to do all that crap.....................and I can still see myself standing over the wash tubs, and it always took 2 big ones filled with water...................................for heavens sake the homes today, have 1 wash tub if their lucky, and that is just to get rid of the "water" from the automatic washer....................................and back then I was 99 lbs.............can't say that today . .............hahahahaha................

OMG---this thread is really a throwback to the best memories....The best part is that we were dirt poor and didnt even know it.I am still friends with my childhhood friends there are 4 of us and we always say we had everything...sure we did.we had food on the table, clothes on our backs,a few pennies in our pockets and life was sooo easy then....I really dont think any of my DD would be able to wash out my compression bra(by hand) that i had to wear 24/7 and run from the fan to the air conditioner all day long till it dried....no they will never know what they missed.....

Starting when I was 4 we lived about 2 years on the family homestead with my Dad's brother.  No running water, no electricity, coal stove.  Even at that age I helped haul the water, I could manage 2 half pails.  I had my own wash tub and a "me" sized version of Mom's washboard.  I washed many of my own cloths but was not allowed near the flat irons that Mom had to heat on the stove to iron.  She even ironed the men's work shirts.  On a 100 degree day in ND wash day got plenty warm in that kitchen.

Yes, those were the good ole days!  I still remember the iceman delivering ice to each home for our icebox that is now called a refrigerator!  My gramma had a laundry room, but it was outside, back behind the shed.  She had one of those high tech electric jobbies, and it had a wringer that you put the clothes through to get the water out of them before hanging them on the line.  The sheets and towels really smelled good back then before we had dryers and association rules about putting up clotheslines!  Remember blueing that you put in the water to make the sheets and towels white?  Is that still around?

Been feeling a little down today. Four months ago after my six months mamo, at my regular appt with my MO she gave me the most thorough digital exam for lumps I've ever had and found nothing.  She also did a "full blood panel" which was all normal.  A little over a week ago I thought I may have found two small lumps.  One of them moved around just like my cancer did.  Called right away and saw my MO yesterday.  She found three lumps, said she wanted a mamo stat with ultrasound and biopsy to follow if indicated, another full blood panel and an appointment next Monday to go over the results with me.  I got pretty choked up and teary eyed.  She reminded me that could be nothing to worry about but admitted that she was concerned too and that we would fight it with everything we have.  So Friday is my mammogram, next Monday my next Doctor appointment.

    I'm scared,,,,,,,,

I am so thankful for the love and support we all share here on BCO.  I think I would have gone nuts this week in fear and apprehension of tomorrows tests without you. Knowing that we all share these experiences, understand and keep each other in our thoughts and prayers lifts  me from despair and sustains my strength.

    Thank and bless you all.
