Another Roadrunner posting for the team!!
Friday check in 3 pts
Weight Down to 143.5 2 pts
Water 7 pts
Exercise 10 pts
Total 22 pts
Hello to everyone - sorry I'm only dashing in making a quick post these days. Those of you who work full time - can you give me any time management hints? I leave home at 6.30 am every day and I get home again at 7.30 pm - by the time I've had dinner, prepared dinner for the next day and prepared a lunch to take to work with me the next day it's just about bedtime 10.30 ish!!
Weekends are really busy too with laundry, shopping, visiting my mum in the care home and other duty visits to family eating up the two days - I really would appreciate any hints. I don't have time to exercise anymore - the points I log are from all the running around I do during work.
I miss having time to read all your posts and share with you all!!
Linda - welcome back and I hope things are going well for you!!
-
I LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV seeing everyone, again!!!!
My goodness what a crew we make. Won't begin to make individual comments, because I know I'd leave people out by accident, but I've read every post & sent up a prayer for all of the particulars as I've read along.
I'm back on the horse -- as of yesterday!
I too have had the coughing crud/couch/glunk for the past week.... but am gradually getting better. We are now settled in FL, had the national convention in Orlando last week -- exhausting and exhilerating all at the same time!!!!
Have yet to unpack, but that may happen this weekend: LOL.
I walked our treadmill for the first time of this new season yesterday.
Today I went to my FAVE line-dance aerobics class!!!! They have learned ALL new routines in the 6 months I was up north, but they welcomed me back w open arms (literally!!!)
So. Friday check-in = 3 points
Water = 3 points
Exercise = 4 points
Weight down from last week = 2 points (143.2 -- which is still 2 #'s over my starting weight in the header above: DUH..... what did I do this summer??????? Let's not go there.)
Extra = 1 point got to the dentist before we headed south
That's 13 points!!!! (which is my lucky number AND the first time I've been in double digits in I don't know how embarassingly long.)
Gals, this is indeed a life-time committment to ourselves. The making of better choices. The choosing to be active instead of sedintary. The passing by of goodies & delicacies. The eatling less and the moving more!!!!
Choose a plan and stick to it!!! We have really great examples in our midst of folks working their program and seeing results. Let's all step-it-up again.
It's great to see all of the suggestions being shared.
I know for me, (another sweetie) if I can get up and brush my teeth then I can somehow resist that evening bowl of ice cream. Whatever it takes, right???

Roadrunner checking in
Friday check in for 3 points. Weight up .5 so no points for that - guess the wonderful chicken and white bean chili I made yesterday was "heavy".Water 7 and exercised a total of 6 - I started out ok at the beginning of the week but was more tired than I though I was because of a cold/crud that I've been trying to get rid of for 2 weeks. Sorry to hear others have had it too.Extra credit - 1 for making my mamo app't at the end of the month. Have my 6 mo RO app't coming up the part of Dec so had to have the results before I see him.So, total for the week..... 17FYI - I ate 3 servings of veggies today. A bit short of my goal. Better tomorrow!The post had lots of added features hope this helps to remove them. -
Friday check in for the Roadrunners = 3 points
weight 179.1
Up from prior week = 0 points (but under 180 - c'mon patoo, if I can do it so can you!)
New E-LAB low = 0 point (leaving this in as a placeholder- optimistic!)
Exercise = 16 points
Daily H2O = 7 pointsExtra credit = 1 point, started posting here again starting last week. :-)
Total = 27 points
Ainm, I'm up at 4:30 am and out the door by 6 and not back home until 5:30 pm. Here are some time mgmt tricks I use. Cook extra food on the weekend and pack some into single-serve portions to take to work for lunch. [This week was chili, and next week I'm thinking chicken soup.] Making a sandwich took ten minutes, which doesn't sound that long until you're running ten minutes late.
Like you, I count movement at work toward daily steps but I try to walk at least ½ hour at lunch. Also, I start my days with yoga (breathing and stretching) while waiting for the tea kettle.
Zogo - congrats! That video was so interesting and it must work, given your results!
Have a good week, everyone!

Rockin' Robin checking in:
I don't remember what I posted as my weight last week, but in my journal here at home I stayed the same:
153.4#
I drank all the water I usually do & didn't do any special exercising except for the usual fast walking that I do during each day as I'm a fast walker & I have stairs in my house.
I didn't keep track of any points this week.
-
Well, I missed Friday check - in - do I get 1 pt for checking in?
Weight maintained - 1 pt - I'm under 210, still!
7 pts water
4 pts exercise
12, or 13? pts
Back in the gym on Friday; I'll be back in tomorrow, too.
I see lots that are losing - yay!!! And Debbie - I do the tooth brushing in the evening sometimes, when I think of it. It does help the late night eating.
Has anyone tried the vegetable soup that Weight Watchers advises as a snack? I'm going to look it up - saw this on Dr Oz.
-
This one - they suggest it for a quick snack; a before-dinner hunger stave-r-offer, etc. Filling without being too many calories.

Bookart, thanks for the link to the WW soup. I made some soup this PM so I have something to eat during the week for lunches.
Took chunks of beef that I purchased at the grocery - said it was for soup...
Then I just started adding what I had in the refrigerator or cupboard. Tomato chunks, corn, green beans, peas, okra, basil, onion, celery and chicken broth. Don't know how it's going to turn out... but hopefully it's going to be eatable! Didn't add potatoes or any other starch because I wanted it to be free of "white" ingredients. The corn was just a bit that was in a package of frozen veggies.
-
I love the WW taco soup. DH does as well, but I have never told him it was WW.
-
Hi Ladies,
I'm signing off for two weeks. Leaving in the morning for a Mediterranean cruise. I'm going to try very hard not to gain any weight while I'm gone (ha, ha, ha - that's funny)! I'll "see" you all in two weeks.
Suzette
-
Hi faith and the rest... I still have this crud and I am still getting short of breath when I walk very far so exercise and treadmill are still out. I went to Wal Mart to buy groceries yesterday and what a chore! I thought I was going to die before I got home with them and I had to unload them in batches lol... I would do a little and stop and rest. I felt like an old lady that hadn't exercised and needed a walker. LOL!! This stuff is killer is all I can say!! Coughing almost every breath when you lay down at night, but that has gotten better and each day I feel stronger. Hoping that next week I feel back to at least 75%. This has been rough. I go see my Med Onc and GYN on Friday. ughh!! two birds with one stone shall we say. Been keeping hydrated that is for sure and I have just started eating again. Hopefully the weight loss will show up in the scales.
Have fun Suzette
-
Mimi, hope you can kick that bug to the curb soon!

Had an amazing week, till yesterday.
Got an upsetting email from a 'friend' who was seriously unkind, unthinking, ding-bat mean. Really rattled me and so I ate like a wack-doodle to comfort myself.
Anyhow, I'm back in the saddle..... over all.
Fri check in = 3 points
Weight down a smidge = 2 points (142.8) I intend to get to my weight listed as my starting weight in the column above. LOL. Banging head against wall for all of that lost progress..... but SOOO grateful to have this group to be accountable.
Exercise = 12 points!!!! Got to my aerobics class twice (2 hours x 2 times!!!!) and I walked the treadmill or took a neighborhood walk for the other points
Water = 4 points Working to get that higher, still dehydrated I'm sure
Extra point = 1 point!!!!! We went out to dinner and my 'smart' choice was to order salmon grilled, without all of the sauce goodies. It came with cheddar mashed potatoes. I thought 'what-the-doodle' and said sure. The waiter was walking away and I called him back and switched my potatoes out for sliced tomatoes. This was heroic for me. YEAH!!!!!!
Little substitutions add up over time. I believe that!
Without my back-sliding of yesterday I had a good week of choices.
YEAH TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have one full week before we leave for a 10 day road trip. Travel is tough for choosing wisely for me, but I'm determined to continue the good behavior.
EAT LESS, MOVE MORE!!!
-
Roadrunner here checking in - Friday = 3 pts.; weight down (how'd that happen?) 180.6 = 2 pts; water = 7 pts (first time hitting 7); exercise = 1 pt. Hip/knee has been acting up, just a little, so thought I would try acupuncture. Didn't know anything about "Trigger Point Acupuncture" (now I do) and so now I think I'm worse off. Three tx over 3 weeks and now 3 days after the last one still have pain. So seeing my primary doctor Monday (time for a physical anyway) and changing to another acupuncturist who is also a MD. He doesn't do TP acupuncture but at least if he were to cause pain, which I doubt, he can give me drugs for it. So I haven't done any exercising this week because I can barely walk. Gave myself one point for thinking about it.
Total = 13 pts..

Zogo what are you doing to lose the weight? I'm exercising, watching what I eat and still no movement with the scale....Help! I'm getting frustrated thinking surely the scale will go down.
Mimi hope you get back to yourself soon. The cold/crud has been going around here too. Dr says antibiotics won't work... just have to "work" thru it.
-
Samsue, I'm using a low carb way of eating (WOE). No sugar, no white stuff (bread, potatoes, anything starchy). I eat meat, eggs, veggies, cheese, butter, heavy whipping cream in my coffee, nuts, seeds, low carb tortillas are my bread. My new favorite substitute is cauliflower mashed "potatoes". I am hosting Thanksgiving and will be making real mashies for the crowd and "fauxtatoes" for me. Plus a low carb green bean casserole and yummy creamed spinach. After I watched the video in the link I posted before in this thread, I was sold on this WOE.
I spend time on a forum called "Low Carb Friends". It is my other home (besides here) on the interwebs! There are challenges, which motivate me, and good ideas, recipes and encouragement. I'm "zogo" on there, too, if you come visit.
Also, I started P90X in June and finished 70 days (of the 90) before life got too busy for an hour a day. I do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred which only takes 20 minutes and is a great workout (better than the treadmill and only $10 for the video). I'm not doing it every day, but I need to get back to business and start doing it on a regular basis. I even get my DH to do it with me some days. I kick his butt, which makes me feel good...teehee.

late check in for the Roadrunners = 1 point
Maintain from prior week = 1 point (amazing, as I just got my order of Girl Scout cookies.)

Total = 25 points
Congrats Elaine on all-time low Elab weight, NM on all-time high Elab points, samsue for running, and patoo for losing... sorry about the hip/knee pain, hope it gets better soon! attawoman zogo!
-
Thanks Zogo for the info. I'll do more of the no carbs ~ even tho I have cut many of them out. Wondering if the AL and the thyroid meds are keeping me from losing more. As I've said before it's the same 2 lbs.... up/down up/down.
Badger like the idea of you counting your steps... making the mileage wow... 1,700 and counting. For a while I was wearing my pedometer but stopped, don't remember why I think because I never got to the 10,000 steps mark each day ~ I discourage easily.
I'm not a runner, never have been but saw some of the girls at the gym walk then run for a bit and kept switching, so I decided to try it too. It gets the heart rate up fast.... and I didn't fall down!
