Thinking Out Loud.....

So sorry, Ducky! My prayers will be going up for your family.
-
I feel like a heel to change the subject, but on the last page, ladybugs were on topic for a bit. I have a huge issue with aphids and other parasitic bugs on my trees. I got the pests from the previous owners of the house next door because they hadn't cared for their plants. We have a new next-door-neighbor who works at an insect store and she told me that if they get any returns, perhaps she can bring them home to me! Who would think you would have "returns"? Praying mantis egg cases go on sale in about 6 weeks. I plan on picking some up, but maybe some will be returned...
-
That's too funny about the returns!
-
Ducky......I'm very sorry for the entire family ♥
Sending my thoughts and prayers your way.

Hi! duckyb1! I am from India ... after a long time coming back to the board with a hope to see everone in good spirit but unfortunately, I got stuck with your posting about the man made problem of your great grandchild. I am so sorry.... and extend my prayer for the baby. I cant imagin how can such a neglected doctor had treated the case. How it had happened in a country like U.S. It is really unbeliebable if I am not wrong. I wish ... a miracle.. to the child.
-
rajkumara.................I said those same words to my son last night about his little grandaughter, and he answered me back .........."that is what it will take".........I am devastated.
-
Yeah ! afterall he is the grandfather of the child, he has a peculiar soft corner for the baby as you know his love and affection for the child is much much more from his own son. A true relationship in between a grandfather and grand child ... Please tell him not to think seriously instead let him research for all possible solution ...when there is a will it leads to success.
-
Here's a praying mantis for you! It came to visit a few weeks ago - was on our mailbox.

-
We have them on our house too. They are cool looking.
-
OH NOOOOOO....I'm scare to death they actually have human faces scary.
lalalalalalalalallalalala
-
I need a deep tissue massage.
I think Santa Claus will approve my request.
Or a Reflexology (The foot thing)
-
Sheila - do you have any local Asian massage places? They usually charge $25 for what they call a foot massage but it is really whole body. Ours are very good

She hasn't had a contraction since I cancelled my trip, still!
-
Well, thats good. Keep the baby in for as long as possible. Keep eating greasy fattening food while you can too! I'm still dreaming of my baked brie.....................mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
-
Kids are driving me crazy. Several here for a sleepover. New Call of Duty Video game and am hearing lots of violence from my basement! Vodka and cranberry juice is not helping. Calgon, take me away!!! Oh yea, my jacuzzi is not ready yet. ;(
-
Boys and their violent video games. Hope the vodka and cranberry juice kicks in soon.
Glad the baby can cook some more. I'm confused too - DC? Is this the DIL you threw the shower for? Or am I getting the stories mixed up.
I consider OCF greasy food too. We call Beef Lo Mein greasy spaghetti. When our kids were younger and I would tell them what food we were ordering, they didn't know what it was so I described it instead.
Missed the band banquet tonight 'cause of class. DD won a newly created award named after a retired long-time band director. Her name will go on a plaque and everything. Finally, some recognition.
I want Friendly's ice cream...
-
Congrats to DD!! I want some friendlies too, but they all closed around here. ;(
-
((((((((((((DUCKY))))))))))))))

Hungry and thirst friends.
(((Chris)))

(((Linda)))

i'm sure Diane doesn't mind me explaining. She was flying to DC to meet some friends and she cancelled it when she heard the DIL might be in labor.
-
Thanks Sheila, I was confused too!

39 more days til Bermuda. Applied for our passports and booked our flights. I know, I did that half ass backwards. LOL
-
Did you have to expedite the passports? I did a couple years ago and it cost more than twice as much!
-
Deb...It's so funny for me you need passport for 2 hours flight and i dont need one even I'm flying for 11 hours because I'm still in USA
Bring the ice cream, the chocolate anything & everything.
I will drink plain home made chicken broth and eat my peanuts later.
-
I still want the baked brie.
-
Yes I did expedite them, it cost us $340 for the passports and $80 for the pictures and over $900 for the flight. I'm broke, LOL
-
It does not matter how in advance you book the flights, it will still cost the same around the holidays. We got a good deal on Delta.
-
Just remember to renew them in 10 years, it cheaper and quicker than having to apply for new passports again. 900 sounds like a great deal on flights!
-
8 months and counting..................
$80.00 for the pictures OMG that's terrible.
When i got my passport went to Costco for picture. It only cost me 4.99
Deb Christmas traveling is expensive but you got a good deal.
The best deal is waiting for you in Bermuda♥
-
To clarify - I was going to meet my extra daughter, Elina. She came to us at 13 from Latvia for two months and stayed for 12 years. She is very dear to me and we are very close. She went to my husband's alma mater in Wisconsin where she met the man she married. He is with the US State Dept and so far, they have lived in Azerbaijan, Budapest, Estonia, and next is Sofia, Bulgaria. They are here in the states until Dec 2 (a total of six weeks) before they go and I want to go and see her and her babies and her wonderful husband very badly. I am now going on Nov. 29. She is the one you see on my FB pics with her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law. I haven't seen her for 3 years now. I will definitely make it on the 29th, unless there is still no baby.
We went out to dinner tonight. Secondi course was roasted brussels sprouts with apples and was delicious. Cavatappi with rabbit ragu was bland but zeppole with nutella....so worth the calories for just once a month
Deb - you will have such a wonderful time, you won't even care about the cost.
Linda - your kids are off a lot? Is it because of Veteran's Day? I miss those Calgon commercials.
Sheila - you didn't stop at chicken broth, did you?

I actually stopped at the broth....so far....
