I survived the October 2011 blizzard.

I hope everybody's OK.
See you later........

Are You OK?
-
I am at DH's office right now. No internet or power at home. 80% of Chelmsford is out of power, my poor neighbor has a telephone pole down in their yard, almost tore the wires out of their house.
I don't think there will be any work tomorrow if they still don't have power.
-
Thanks for posting DEB. I'm glad the family is fine and hope things will get back to normal soon.
Big branch fell on my neighbors back yard she has some damage.
I have Co-OP home insurance but I don't know if they will cover something like that.
HUGS ♥

Thanks for letting us know Deb...where r u going to stay?
Dallas is playing the Eagles here in Philly
Went to lunch with daughters for the first time ever, not used to being around both of them (Kristie is 33 jamie is 30) and Kristie just started talking to us again, haven't talked to me in about 5 years.....it was nice, she is having problems with the bf and think coming back to the fam after all the years of being all involved with him and his fam....weird, but love it!!
HAPPY MISCHIEVE NIGHT!!!

Got power back this morning. I cannot wait to have our generator installed!! So sick of these outages. It looks like a war zone, trees down everywhere and live wires. Streets closed. School is closed. Lost power Sat about 8, no heat, no water, no stove, NOTHING!! And it was COLD!!!
Hope Deb has here power back too. Chris?? You OK??
-
Linda you lost power also....sorry!!! Did you stay in the house? Do you have fireplace!!!
People check in please!!!
-
Yes, we stayed here. I had fires but it was 20 degrees out last night Brrrr!!
-

Lots of people here still hae no power. I bet Deb doesn't either. There was no school today and I really hope there is school tomorrow. REALLY!!
-
Hi Ladies - all I seem to do is drive from the rental house to the real house or to city hall for permit issues. I have been thinking about all of you on the east coast and thinking Merry Halloween. Are kids trick or treating there tonight? I really hope there is school tomorrow and power for everyone. I can't believe you already hit 20!
Hugs to all xoxoxoxo
-

I think they need alcohol with those prayers
Tomorrow, I hope to take pictures of the incredible destruction at my new home. I am taking the first swing with the sledgehammer at 10 a.m. Today, I wrote with black marker all over the floor nasty things about the builder. Hoping tomorrow's big bang is cathartic..... -
Hope your bang was great Diane! And therapeutic!
I;m hoping school will be open tomorrow. Kids have friends over. I'm so happy I have my power back but so many still dont. I lost my camera last week so I cant even post pics of the destruction. Rt 1 by Gillette Stadium is a mess!
-
Linda you lost your camera, where? So sorry!!! Glad you have power, and don't like that Deb can't check in....wanted to tell you Linda that a friend of mine just got back from Boston, and said the people were really rude, lol...
Diane can't wait to see the pix!!!
Chris where r u?
Seyla....you are too funny!
and FINALLY went to DQ...would take a pix but can NEVER post any pix on here, lol!!! Stay warm!!
-
Hi All, I'm at my DH's office, he has power down here. They are saying we may not get power back until Thursday. That suck diddily ucks. The house is warm with the gas stove in the living room and bought a Coleman stove a while ago so I am using that in the mud room where I can open the windows. Fridge is empty, I have some things in the a cooler and other things in the snow, like milk and tonic and SAM. I had to wash the inside of the fridge, it started to stink. I can warm up water to sponge bath and wash my hair, but can't blow dry, that's gonna look funny cause my hair does what it wants if I don't use a blow dryer. Oh well at least I won't stink. LOL
-
We are rude Sandy, so shut up! LOL!!
I feel for you Deb. Thats where I was a month ago when we lost power for 6 days. The fridge smelled. I think that was the only tine I REALLY cleaned the fridge from top to bottom. It was so easy since there was NOTHING in it. Got a check from insurance company for 500.00 to cover food. What a joke, 500.00 doesn't begin to cover it but it's a start. Good luck!!
-
Waaaaah! Our trees!

-
I did not enjoy the news tonight when they said that 3 drinks or more per week increases risk of breast cancer! I did enjoy "banging" the "xxit" out of the tile today
Sandy & Linda, I am also from Boston and we are harsh and honest (I am out of practice though) I miss it here in PC land.
Deb - I have great sympathy for you, we did 9 days two Christmases ago and it was hell.
Sheila - where are you today?
Chris - those trees? OMG!
-
Thanks for the pics Chris. It's amazing!! I hope your trees are fine. We lost an apple tree, a fruit bearing apple tree. One of my favorites.
-
Oh no - I think we've lost at least 4 - maybe 7. Not sure the forsythia are going to make it either. I think our favorite tree is a-gonner. Poor DS thinks we can save the trees. I'm like - uh - the trunk is split right down the middle - you can see daylight through it And on another tree, a huge branch ripped right off and a big branch on the other side ripped a big slice off the trunk on that side. He thinks it will heal itself. He says when we get a cut, we stitch it up - we don't amputate the limb. I said - sometimes the wound is too devastating. Poor, innocent child... If only....

Lost power around 3 on Saturday. Wasn't expecting to lose it so quickly. Had a laundry in the dryer and in the washer and was exercising! So I quick jumped in the shower while we still had hot water and told DD to do the same. Duh. Was not prepared for this storm. Luckily I still had my blocks of ice still in the freezer from Irene. Was surprised to get power back today. Sounded like we were all in for the long haul. ~830,000 CL&P customers out of power in CT. Crazy.
DD had a friend over last night - we all played Apples to Apples on the living room floor by hurricane lamp light - and ate Halloween candy. Wrapped up in our blankets and Snuggies. lol
Hope Deb gets power back soon.
Sorry about your apple tree, Linda. Takes so long for the trees to grow and mature. I'm just sick about it. Planted those trees in 1993-1995. A couple in the front yard were transplanted later than that - they were grandchildren trees of DH's grandparents' trees. I have a few choice words for Mother Nature.
Glad you got some frustration out doing some demo, Diane.
Hope everyone else is doing okay.
