Hey everyone...I'll be 72 in June!  I just recently got home from my 10 year company reunion, and was voted the person who actually looked younger than before...woohoo!  Everyone asked me what my secret was and I said "Retirement"!

That snow looks great!  We're headed that way in February (hopefully) for our annual family ski week in Breckenridge, so keep it coming.

    Hugs to everyone!

Jo - the strongest language I ever heard growing up was the time my Father cut off part of his finger on the table saw.  He held up his hand and said "Oh darn that hurts!"

Duckey -  I live in Ocean Shores, "big" city of about 5,000 right on the coast almost due west of Olympia.  We lived in Olympia over twenty years before moving here.  Had a lovely view of The Mountain".  I remember the first time I went to Yakima after living on this side within sight of Rainier.  When I saw him from that side I felt almost indignant, after all that's our mountain.  Of course I then felt stupid for my reaction!

Okay, you gals can swear all you want, but I won't.  I mean it's just different when we PM each other, or send an email, but I won't on a public forum....And besides Ducky....you said no swearing. Wink  And no, I couldn't when I was younger either..... I remember when I was in grade-school, and the other kids dared me to write a word on a piece of paper.... So I did, & the teacher came and snatched it off the desk, and I sat there just mortified, and totally embarrased.  I never did that again.

I mean I could swear just like ANY one could,  but if my Daughter's or my Grand-sons could hear me do that, I would be ashamed......  Sorry, but that's just me......

And yes Jo....That post you talked to me, is still in "my stuff".... We ARE here for each other, even when it's just too hard to talk to families about.... We don't want them to know how this diagnosis just shakes our world....We always try and be the brave ones.   So we try and hold it in, and not let them be worried!  And this was the only place I could talk....Thank you again.  I donated $25 to this site last week....and I didn't even swear, Ha!

Kaara, what did you ever hear from your "team"  Did they determine that you have Breast Cancer?  And did they do a biopsy?

Chabba---i have been hearing a lot about the vacine but as much as i have been hearing i dont know anything about it.This old brain keeps nuthin in....What I did THINK was if you are NED you didnt qualify...do you know anything about that?

BTW if anyone has any extra weight to spare Im doin a collection....need to gain 10 lbs.dont laugh!!!!i lost sooo much weight with this bc i just cannot put it back on.I did gain some of it but a donation would be easier.

Chevyboy:  Thanks for asking...I'm going on Friday for yet another mammogram which my bs here in Florida says his radiological team thought was best since it has been two months since the last one in NC.  If the suspicious area is still present, they are going to biopsy it and then I will know for certain, so the process is moving along.  Not sure why he didn't do the MRI instead of another mammogram, but at this point I just want to get an answer and move on with my life.  This bs is definitely old school conventional medicine, so don't know how we are going to get along if I get a diagnosis of cancer, since I tend to want more of an integrative approach.  Will have to wait and cross that bridge when I get to it.

Grannydukes:  Wish I had known you wanted a weight donation...we had a combined 14lbs we could have donated, lost from this new alkaline diet we're on.  It's an anti cancer diet, so don't know how one would gain weight on it...no white bread, pasta, potatoes, desserts etc.  Borrring!!

The old saying" he swears like a sailor" is true and since I am a Navy veteran

I had heard and used about all the bad language there is out there..but there is a time

    and a place for everything...

Lisa!  You are a Veteran!  Well congratulations, and THANK you!  I think Jackie is and also Kantalope....I THINK!   My Dad was in the Navy.... Served during WW2.... He went in 2 days after the A bomb was dropped, to help clean up the streets in Hiroshima...

I didn't know any of this, until just before he became very ill....And at that time, we got to talk about his whole life, good and bad.... I guess we never did before, because when we were little, they didn't talk about the war.  Growing up, & hearing air-raid sirens, and having those black shades "just in case" was just all too scary.

My Brother-in-law has never once talked about Viet-Nam.... I think there are just too many painful memories.  He just shut it out.

But one of my Daughter's best friends is from Viet-Nam... She was brought over by a "friend" when she was 11, and she is like our "other Daughter from another Mother."

Kaara....just make sure you do have a needle-core biopsy.... IF they think it is necessary after your Mammogram.   I had a MRI only after I had the biopsy....and then it was to check both breasts, "just in case"....  The ultra-sound also saw it, (the little tumor)  & it was marked with clips at that time.

As Jo knows, I was terrified when I heard all of this, but once my "team" got everything arranged, and surgery set, I was just relieved.  It wasn't NEAR as bad as I had imagined.   But I believed in my team, as I knew they knew a lot more than I.  And if any nodes are determined positive, they have to come out...and then treatment will be discussed with you.  But hopefully, your tests will all be alright, and maybe you won't have to go through this!

    Take care all....xoxo

This xmas eve I will have 38 family members......................It is a 54 year tradition that xmas eve is at my house..................way back in 1957 I refused to take my "first born" then 5 months old out galavanting to other homes, so everyone came to my house.............most of those wonderful people are gone now, but I' sure they look down on all of us in this year 2011...................It  is just something I started and never stopped doing..........it is a lot of work preparing all the food, and getting ready , but there is ...........Nothing like family.....................

Nice to have traditions like that....mine goes back to when I was a little girl and everyone went to my Grandma and Grandpa's house for all the holidays.  My Grandma would stay up most of the night on Xmas Eve making doll clothes for me and my girl cousins.  She was the best and I miss her  so much.  I've tried to carry on the same tradition with my children, and now the grandchildren.  This year we are going to have probably 20 for Thanksgiving and more for Xmas, but my children do some of the entertaining now since they have families of their own, or they bring a side dish to share which takes the load off me a little.

We have some new group of grandbabies..2 years, 8 months, and 5 months.  Great memories!

Granny Dukes...good for you!!! I did the Tamoxifen (BTW I told the onc that I did not want an AI so I told her what to give me)..I really didn't have any side effects except when I tweaked my hip I blamed it on the T because it was a joint pain..that's when I stopped. I need to lose a few pounds but no one thinks I'm obese LOL...until I can find out what is wrong with my hip I can only play fetch with my dog and not walk. I'm starting PT this Thursday. I may insist on an MRI..already had x-rays and all is ok..time will tell.

KLP good luck with the PT...it does work.really it does but you have to help it along and do it at home too.I used to run an exercise class where i live and i had those over 80 doin the exercises practically everyday.....

today my grandaughter gave birth to my #3 great grand child.A beautiful baby boy.I usually think all newborns look ugly but this one is cute.my GD had 12 hr labor with a Dr along with a midwife.the father passed out.men are such wimps.

im cooking for tomorrow at 11pm and i too am a wimp.exhausted.....too old for all of this...and they want me to stay for a month...i highly doubt it.

    huggggggggggs everyone k
