The Old and de Restless, to be continued but must change me pants again, damn. I took too long to get to the baffroom.
ok, that is better.....
Wow, it's me birffDEY. How did that happen? I miss those Sunday birfdeys that were 25 hours long. Yup, Allison can attest to this fact. Ya see, daylight savings time used to end on the last SUNdey of october and ebery six years, me burpdey would be one hour more parTAY time. But some genious messed that up and moved the time change out. No fair, wahhhh.
Forgot to say that my doctor was very pleased with the way I am healing. Yippee. One reason to party - as if I need more reasons! The palm of my hand is bothering me most - the splint is made so that I can not close my hand. I had to tell the splint maker chick what was comfortable as far as position. Well I made the wrong choice but not sure how she could expect me to know the best position without the thing on. damn, why can't this pain be done already? The surgery thang is getting old for me and I am losing patience if feeling better. Seems that I have been having pain for the past 15 months, it sux. The TE and surrounding muscles are actually feeling better. Last wee, my right side was the problem side. Then lost me good side when me elabow muscle was chop chopped. That was caused me to reply on the former bad side and work it. For the foyst few days, my TE was bothering me but I am noticing that I can stretch and use my right arm more and now having less pain there. Overall, pain is not unbearable, just tiring of it all. I know me will feel bettah soon so say bring it on.
Thanks Wahine for staying awake long enough to send me yummy things. You are sweet. And tank ewe chrissy b. I will try to do something i love tomorrow but have to first get up waaay to early to purchase paint and a replacement mirror for my bfroom. Then the pool boys come at 11am to close my pool. wahhhhhhhh!
Enuff about me, sawry to hogface anudder page. Time to get some rest, I have to set my alarm wahhhh again. But the good thing is no worky, I'll drink to that.Good morning to all! Join me in sailabrating the new dorK at fitty-one years young. Cheers ma' ladies. love you all......~yawn~~

happy birthday dork, party hard!
-
Happy Birthday Dorothy! Can't wait to party with you tonight! Want to thank you all for my bday wishes yesterday, sorry I couldn't be here. Talk about SE's from meds Karen, I get them all too. Hate to complain about a $5K shot, but spent all day yesterday with a screaming headache and back pain that is actually paralyzingly when I walk. Have been taking my pain meds around the clock, and did get ready to go to bday party with girlfriends. Didn't want to bail on 11 friends, so went along, did my painting, and came home. Washed my face and was zonked. The pain is also in all of my joints today, headache still there but faint. Just gonna take it easy again today. The 26 hours we spent in the car this past weekend probably didn't help matters. Oh well, it is all worth it. Hope you girls have an amazing day, and can't wait to partay later. I'm gonna need the hot tub Fo Sho!!
-
Just stopped by to wish DorK a happy, happy birthday...hope your day is everything you want it to be......
snow on the ground....just enough to make driving bad....should be done by noon.....got a splitting heachace.....4 ibuprofen haven't touched it yet....also took sinus meds....hope it leaves before I get to work or it will be a long day!!!!
will see everyone tonight...
-
WooHoo, the birfdey partay is continuing.....

-
Wahine, I am so sorry you guys had to pull over, omg! What time did you actually get home? I don't even know what time you all left! Tell your DH I am so incredibly grateful and indebted to him for bringing you to me. Suzanne Pleshette, yes! And please, you are being way to kind. Sure hope you and Bernie can meet up, it's so fun meeting a sistah! And you DO NOT look like one of the Golden Girls, although....you are GOLDEN!
NM, WOW.........what a DOTD! I think that one will knock us all on our a$$! And thanks for the prayer....AMEN SISTAH, AMEN!
Kymn, glad that you poo pooed DH. And I was wondering, why is he living across the street and not with his new woman? Hmmmmmmm! So good to see you with your big girl panties on.
Dang Astorm, you are up late! And who is that in your avatar? Ok, just saw the answer, it's you. How long ago? Dang, you are beautiful. I wish we could see a larger version. Very very pretty bride.
Chrissy, lol at yours and NM's knees being cousins! For real, you can get Lymphadema in your back?
Hey ScubZ, Nashville...right on! LMAO, Thelma and Louise, Joisy Style.............too funny. If we can make that work, I will make DH have us come back a day early and you all need to get a room too, instead of just doing a few hours. WHAT FUN!
Karen, you poor dear! I don't know that any of us will be who/what we were before BC....but we can certainly move forward. I too was wondering what would happen if you just stopped all the drugs, but is it good to stop them cold turkey? Anyways, wishing you all the best and you can ramble all you want here....it is encouraged! My MIL keeps her house rather warm, but kept the heat to a minimum while we were there. What I did, was close the heat vent and kept the door closed. I also take a fan with me, EVERYWHERE I go. It's a small one, about a foot tall and maybe 5" diameter.
LMAO DorKy..............you are so bad! Glad me gots some perky ones, hope they didn't notice the dents tho! I was not unhappy.......how could one be unhappy here???? As for putting the phone on speaker.....it wasn't my phone! I could have done it with mine, but we were using Kathy's. I am not techy with phones, I have just a cheap freeby phone. And did I see you say that "S" word? BAD BAD DorK!
Juliet....when did you sneak in? WELCOME!
Allison, you poor dear...............I had forgotten about the side affects from that shot. OMG, I got terrible pains in my legs and they would get like jelly. Hope you will feel better today.
OK.............time for BIRFDAY WISHES. DorK and Allison are our birfday goyles. Allison, I am carrying your birfday on into today, but mostly for selfish reasons. (I don't usually get on the internet at night)

51? NO WAY!

-
Kathy..................I'm taking that whole cake! Wooooo Hooooooooo! And what is left will be candy.............eye candy!
More cake!

-
LOL Lori....and the cake you brought for Allison is soooooo pwetty! Glad you got onto DorK for using the "s" word....ha, ha,. It weally, weally is hard not using it sometimes. We got home around 11:30, left around 8:30. It took 2.5 hrs WITHOUT the nap (3 hrs with)....LOL....but he was very tired too, so am glad he pulled over. HE is not a long-distance driver. My DD can drive 12 hrs straight with only herself driving (and the kids in the car)....don't know how she does it. I too, am so glad we FINALLY got to meet!!! Awesome!
Oops, finding more pictures for today....nice to be still celebrating Allisons birfdey too!

-
Ha,ha, Just saw your newest cake Lori! Tsk, tsk, LOL..... Are we wild and crazy or what???
-
Hi LadieZ......
Loving the birthday pictures. Happy, happy birthday DorK and Allison. I celebrate mine for roughly a month these days.
Karen, I am so sorry you are having a rough time, and don't know what to say. Occasionally, I have a bad night, but I almost always do get to sleep. Endorphins are critical. I have pictures of all the great places I have seen and those always cheer me up. Plus, I feel lucky to be here.
Sometimes, I have to force myself to get outside and walk or cycle. But I always feel better a few minutes into the activity. Before BC, I once went cycling with a friend and he was amazed to see me go from dragging to perky within the space of a few minutes.
I have the opera tonight (Carmen) so that should be fun.
I have a letter written asking for introductions at a place I would love to work. Now to screw up the courage to send it. Plus some serious job hunting today. Yesterday was attending the conference virtually. Interesting lead-edge stuff about how technology services is changing.
Will check in later....... Meanwhile let the PAR-TAY continue. - Claire

Morning lougettes from the Canada side o the border, hi Kymn! LMAO at all the posts I missed, except a few, Karen hope you feel a bit better, hope the snow isn't a hassle. The drug cocktail gets overwhelming. I am still an insomniac after almost 2 weeks on tamox. Seeing ob/Gyn specialist tomorrow am and will talk with her. Gail, pic is beautiful! Agree with Lori, can't focus on going back, focus on going forward to the happiest, prettiest and healthiest person I can become after I get done hassling around with this rat ba$tard BC....
But, on a happier note,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DORK, hope you are partying the day away! Hope your friend Jack Daniels swings by for a visit!
Nashville would never be the same, I am 100% game, got enuf frequent fliyer miles to burn.
Can't respond to all, but got to tell you guys, am on free wifi at airport with my boss (who has been great thru all this bull), was checking something for work as she was sitting next to me. Got done and figured I would stop in the lounge for a quick shot with whoever was around. Just as the page was opening, I started thinking, oh $hit, god only knows what's been posted! We gots lots to partay about right now! Had to flip the top and go to the bathroom. Came back to conveniently move away, excuse of needing a power outlet. Not sure what she would think of some of the birthday wishes! LMAO all over again, thanks you all crack me and pick me up and I so luv you all for it!
See you when I get home! Scuby -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOROTHY LOVE YOU
-
Tank you girls, love all the cake, the greeting and the dwinkies. Love you all for this, so very sweet. So happy that the parTAY is still hopping and that the odder party girl popped in. Allison, so sorry you are feeling bad, hope that passes soon. You are such a trooper in going out with your friends while feeling so crappy. Hope you feel up to dwinking wif me later.
I am not feeling great but as one of you say, it is a great day to be alive.
Scuby, ask your doc about trzadone for sleep. It does not need to be taken daily when used as a sleep aid (VS USED AS AN ANTIDEPRESSANT). I swear by them.
It is dreary here so a good excuse to take a nap. I went to lowe's early this morning and got 6 gallons of paint and did it my dernself. I got great help from the tenders though. How sweet that they followed me there. My pool boys just left, the hole in the ground is closed for the season, so depressing. I messed up and did not drain it low enough so will have to resume that after nappy then get help wiith putting the final three anchors on the pool cover. It sucks that lisa will not see my swimming pool this year - will be open again in March though.
Thanks again girls for making my day special. Don't stop partying for me and Allison just because I am crashed on the hammock. Pants, a shot of propofol please, wanna wake up high!! cheerz!
-
Dork is sleeping?
Who has the shaving cream?

-
I just love you guys, cracking up here in Kentucky! Have been on couch most of the day; DH is bri ging home take out, and I'm into the homemade wine. We refer to some of it as memory eraser! Lol. Loving the cakes, especially sexy body, woo hoo! And thank you for my zebra cake, Love it! Can I go ahead and get in the hot tub? Safe travels Scuby, will be waiting for you, chilaxin with Pants, Jock, and the other gals!
-
BTW, DorK, what the he'll are u thinking doing all that??? You mad woman!! Sit down, trust me, it will wait for you! You need to take it easy Birthday girl! ((((hugs)))))
-
DorK...tried trazadone a couple years ago and it did nothing!!!! I've tried so many different sleep aids and ambien is/was the best and its never gave me more than 4 hours solid!!!! I am better than when I was on AI's but lately its been more interrrupted.....
Not really sure how much snow we got because it melted fairly quickly off the streets, but it took its toll on trees....we lost a big branch on the tree out front.....we didn't loose power but several areas did including the school I'm at today.....power went out arouond 9:45 and we were told it would probably last all day so decision was made to close school....phones eventually went out, so we were all using our cell phones to call parents, especially the bus riders....phone blast went out to all families.....took 2 1/2 hours to get most of the kids picked up...by 1:30 the power was back on and we had 4 kids left!!!! An exhausting day.....Once the power came back on, at least I could do some of my needed paperwork....and I left work on time.....only nice thing was several of us went out to lunch which is a real treat!!! But I'm spent!!!!
Need to start packing....have parent-teacher conferences for DD at 5....soup and bread for dinner...nothing better on a cold day!!!!
DorK...hope your day has been just wonderful....Karen
-
Eberyone in da hot tub, drinks around.....your choice. Don't forget to have some cake!
Allison, sorry you were stuck on the da couch all day, I hope one of the boys were there to keep you company!
Karen, so s*%y (can't say that word) about your sleep issues. I am tickled to death when I can get 4 hours of uninterupted sleep. I am usally up every hour, sometimes more, sometimes less, but pretty much every hour. Just chalk it up as one of those Fn things we have to deal with. I hope you can get answers and sleep.
Hmmmmm.......think I will have some wine with Allison....do you mind?
-
Where is eberyone? I am gettin two dunk to sit heer and dwink abone. I'm getting punie...I meean proonie. DorK, me got you poyple cake and a poyple dwink.

Hugssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss,
Kathy
-
Hippity happitty birffdey, DorK!
... we celebrate birthdays long long time here at the lounge...
Karen - bc sucks... sometimes other things suck too... but life is wonderful. Funny about your dad liking the house hot. My ILs live in southern California and when they visit we have to crank the heat up to 80 and they still complain that they are cold at night. DH keep the windows wide open in our room in the middle of winter but we are still choking from the heat and they are cold. They have a/c in their house and in the summer they crank the a/c... so if it's July the temp needs to be 60 but in the winter the temp needs to be 80?
Allison - what you shootin for $5k a pop? Hope it helped with the headache and back pain. If not, then next time maybe you could buy a lot of good stuff for $5k that would make you feel good... like the cake Kathy sent over for DorK.
Kathy - naughty girl!
Lori - thanks... we just celebrated our 20th anniversary so I must have been.... 12? It seems like only yesterday. I know I'll never look like that again and that's ok but I want to smile like that again... every day. That is my final step in treatment.
-
~yawn~ I am here but uhh, need to wash all des shaving cweam offth
-
oh,that was whipped cream, not shaving creammmmPants enjoyed cleaning me up.
Lori, you bad. Note to self, do not announce you are napping. She dont get mad, she git even!!! So nice to see u at me parTAY. love the purple. how did u know me like poyple partYing?
Karen, tank u too for the happy wishes. Really sorry for you. If the trazadone did not do it, i know it is serious. crap. Praying you feel better. Drink more for me poytey and we all pray you zonk out first.
And I see Mrs Vino...yippee. Wish u did not spend de day on the sofa. Here's some hootch from me basement. It Pino Grigio, 1984. Me been saving it for a special time. It has been in me basement since i squashed de 1984 grapes and it is some strrrrrrong hootch.
Kathy, tank ew for coming, love your poyple dwess. As for getting paint today, i could not decide on color and procrastinated. Today was the deadline to get paint as my contractors hot paint man was arriving this morning. I kept DH awake until 2am last night and he was tired from getting up early. So me let him sleep in and did the paint chore meself. It was not hard. It was close by, I got help with eberting, evan rolling the cart. I get vip tweatment wif this thing on my arm. Ugh, people are clueless when it is breast funk, if they only knew. Me guess a good thing that Bwest Shhhit is not visable ehh. so profound i am again.
hate to bring more crud, met to ask you goils to pray for a friend. she is the wife of a classmate who was on our reunion committee. she was dx late 2009 and lost her fight today. it was not bc. if you all could pray for Denise's husband Jim and their four beautiful children. As NM would pray, ....Hi God, This is #3 loss of someone I cared about. let it be the last. well at least for a long time. Can I have a cure soon" Tanka ewe. Barmen!
Dork51 needs a refill.
Let's celebrate life, cheerZ!

Steeping in the door here and hoping I don't slip on all that foam!!! Ooooo those cakes look so scrummy I needs to taste 'em all ......... thank goodness they are in the lounge so no calories to add to da hippys! Yahoo!!!
Ahhh!!! sliding into da hot tub, mmmmm that sure feels good! I think I over did it yeasterday.....you know how it is, you start something and it leads to something else etc, etc, etc. So, I started sweeping the area outside my backdoor and getting rid of cobwebs and in the process of moving things out of the way I came across some potting mix so I decided to put it into a huge pot that I am going to plant tomatoes in for the summer but before I could do that I needed to move a large pole that was sitting where the pot was and then I needed to move a piece of lattice out of the way as well. Just the DH returned home so I borrowed his muscles to do the heavy moving and then he put the pot where I wanted it but it didn't sit level so he took it out again and after some digging and grunting and a whole lot of sweating, (his not mine), the pot is now where I want it to be and sitting level. Finally I could put the potting mix into it and step back to view the mess I had created with all this 'cleaning up' I was doing. Out came the broom, the shovel to move excess dirt and put it into the pot, and the rubbish bin in which to deposit the roots. With all this happening, the area outside my back door has only improved slightly but the placement of the pot looks great! Needless to say, I'm definitely feeling the sweeping today and although I would like to finish my back area, it just may have to wait for another day.....lol.
Lori, you can get lymphadema anywhere on your body that has had a large amount of tissue removed as it does interupt the flow.
Allison I sure hope those SE's disappear quickly. I can't remember which shot you had but I know there are a few threads dealing with what you can do to lessen the pain of these things. Try doing a search for them or check out the information resourse of the site itself. You will find the heading right at the top of the page. Hope you are feeling better.
Gail you gorgeous girl you! WOWSER!!!!! Loved your dress.......can we see more of it? Please?
This hot tub feels fantastic! but I'm getting a little pruny so I think I'l grab a hammock and get the boys to bring me a long cool drink.
Take care all!!!! TITZ UP!!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
-
Scuby, late to the DorK partay, but ready to rock! Home safe from my quick trip and a long afternoon at work, but looks like all of you got a good headstart on me! Cheers all, Pants better pour me a stiff one, I have some work to do! Cheers to you Dorothy, wishing you a good time!
Hope someone is left in the hot tub to keep me company, otherwise will just have to hang with Jock, oh poor me! Chrissy , cheers, hope you didnt overdo, but sometimes you just get on a roll! Gail de wiener dog birthday is a riot! Allison, hope tomorrow is better, get good for getting the stupid port out in November (yay)! To all in the lounge, and those in the lounge in spirit, bottoms up, the next round is on me!! Luv, Scuby -
Stopping by to check in....can't do hot tubs as I'm too hot!!! well, I'm not too hot, but my body temp is too hot to get in a hot tub....so I'm sitting by the side of the tub drinking my cabernet.....a couple glasses left in the bottle...will have to finish it since I'll be gone till Monday.....speaking of being gone, need to go finish packing....have most of my stuff on the bed, but need to put it in my luggage and make sure I don't forget anything....plus need to go through work stuff and see what I need to take....have reports to finish that need to be done by the 30th and 31st....will try to stop back later tonight, if not will be back in the morning...flight is at 7:05, but DH said since its such an early flight, don't need to leave for the airport till 5:30 to get there at 6 an hour before the flight....I'm only taking a carry-on plus the computer bag.....
-
Make room for me - I am getting in de tubby. Pants, will you scrub me back? Karen, poo girl. I know the feeling. I tell my peeps that my internal thermostat is bwoke. I had many hot flashes the first few months of taking the tammy pill. They stink. Not sure why but my s/e's seem to come out just after surgeries. I have been having hot flashes on and off daily. Today, was having muscle cramps while trying to nap. The shaving cream. whoooped cream. Whatever dat was helped. Maybe you can try getting your DH t or Lori git you. ~jk, really hope you feel better.Wishing for a pleasant visit with your parents.
And wow, I get to give Chrissy a lecture on over doing things. Tisk tisk tisk. Oops gtg, back wash time, ahhhhh! cheerZ!
-
Yay, birfday girl in de tub, howse about some champagne bubbles to go with the hot tub bubbles! See ya tomorrow DorK!
Karen, hoping for sleep for ya, my new strategy is stay up later, sit in the hot tub and have a galss of red wine. Then come in cool down with another glass of wine, then bed. See what happens. Safe travels! -
All packed...DH looked at what I was taking and commented on how much!!! so I counted out the tops, and I only have one extra....my carry on is a great little duffle bag, but the opening is not condusive to the laptop, so I have a large tote bag for my "purse" that I will try to cram my purse in as well....worried about the roads in the morning as the temps are going down into the teens, but DH says 5:15 or 5:20 is fine...sure hope he is right.....Going to finish my glass of wine...more in the bottle than I thought so not sure if I will finish it.....but want to get into bed before midnight....maybe around 11.....alarm is set for 4:30....Just heard that temp is 21 and wind chill feels like 10!!!!
Will check in tomorrow....Sweet dreams...Karen
