which frightens you more: rattlesnakes or boa constrictors (I am thinking of snakes because some friends just came back from a trip to the Amazon, where they had a near fatal encounter with a snake!)

gosh, Ruth, how could you say one is less frightening than the other? Even a garden snake scares me.
I am envious of your friends' trip (not the snake encounter), I'd love to see their pictures and hear their stories, that's one place I'd love to visit.
Do you typically run early or late for appointments?

Early if DH is involved, timely for doctors, often a little late otherwise

toast and/or cereal ... usually a "continental" breakfast with some fruit too ...

become invisible...what fun to drop in on some conversations

Do you always get a few pieces of mail or have days when you get nothing?

I always get mail, but 99% of it is junk.
Still write letters or mostly e-mail

Mostly email but do love a real letter now and then.
Still buy stamps by the roll or just a few now and then as needed? -
I buy the books of 20.....Love the pretty Garden of Love stamps this year!

I probably read more fiction than non-fiction. I do enjoy "real" events told in a fictitious manner.

I use google as my dictionary.
Can you absorb what's on the computer screen or on a printed page better? -
Printed pages are much easier for me to read
Rather have someone to cook for you or to clean for you?

Definitely clean.
If you have "help" do you tidy up before they come or let them see the real you?

when I did have a cleaning lady, my DH always rolled his eyes because the day before she was coming I really straightened the place up.

start Christmas shopping early or wait until the last minute

sporadically shop, but then I give out the presents out for other occasions, or find something I like better

I admit that I do step on the gas to miss the red light if at all possible. (Naughty I know!!!)
